We went inside the mansion after dad sent aunt Grace to call us for dinner.
Denyx and I walked back inside the mansion happily holding our hands. Who would have thought that we will be together again after so many years. We both knew that we won’t let go of each other when this chance is given to us.
He pushed the door opened and everyone’s eyes were on us. They looked at our hands which are intertwined and smiled.
“I am glad you found each other again.” Mrs. Kate smiled.
I blushed because I am feeling bit nervous but I knew they’re expecting this. We went in the dining room. Dad and Mrs. Kate were in front of us while Denyx and I were walking behind them.
He pulled a chair for me to sit down then he sat next to me. While dad pulled a chair for Mrs. Kate and they sat next to each other, opposite to us.
Our servants servers the foods but there is no seafood because I am allergic to it. We were peacefully having our dinner when dad spoke.
“So what’s your plan?” Dad asked me while Denyx put a piece of meat in my plate.
We both looked at Dad. Then Denyx smiled at me.
“Dad please, we are still in the process of knowing each other we don’t want to rush everything.” I told him.
“Ohh sweetheart, I am getting old and I want grandchildren soon.” He demanded.
I blushed again hearing what he wanted.
“It’s okay uncle, Anna need sometime to absorb everything back here in L. A. besides we still have to make sure she’s safe until Mike’s arrest.” Denyx saved me for answering my dad.
“Yes, that’s right. Anna’s safety is at risk while Mike is still free.” Mrs. Kate agreed.
“Yeah but you two better be hurry because we are getting older and we can’t wait any longer to see our grandchildren. Isn’t it Kate?” Dad said and looked at Mrs. Kate with a silly smile.
“That’s true. We need to see our grandchildren soon.” Mrs. Kate agreed with dad’s opinion.
“Let’s see about that when things got settled. As of now I am waiting to see Mike in prison..” Mrs. Kate spoke.
“I think I will let Anna stays with me until Mike get arrested.” Denyx suggested.
I looked at Denyx and spoke.
“You don’t have to do that Denyx. I can take care of myself, besides he doesn’t know that I am still alive.”
“Sweetheart we don’t know what will happen so I guess Denyx has a point.” My dad agreed.
“I am fine dad, It’s not necessary to stay with him.” I told him.
“You always stand of what you think is right sweetheart but it’s for your safety.” He insisted.
“I’m okay dad, I promise that I will be okay. You should not be worried.” I assured him.
“I guess no one can change your mind babe. I will be staying in my unit at Lawrence Apartment then.”
Denyx said.
“Oh so Anna is staying there too?” Mrs. Kate asked.
“Yes mom, she’s staying at my other unit but it is opposite to mine.” He told his mother and I don’t have any idea that he owns the unit I am renting.
“You owned the Unit?” I asked him with confused face.
“Yes babe, the unit is mine too. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you earlier because I don’t want you to feel uncomfortable when we were not that close yet.” He explained.
I slightly punched him on his shoulder.
“So I can’t run away from you huh?” I teased him.
And we all laughed.
“But that is really good because he can watch over you all the time.” Mrs. Kate said.
“No Mrs. Kate, I think that’s not required. He got hundreds of works to do everyday and I don’t want to burden him.” I told her.
“You can call me mom dear. Don’t call me Mrs. Kate anymore it’s too formal, besides you’re now my son’s girlfriend isn’t it?”
I smiled at her but I didn’t say anything more.
After our dinner we moved to the living room.
Until it was time for us to leave.
“Dad I’m sorry I have to leave now.”
“Sweetheart are you sure you’re not staying tonight? It’s getting late. You should stay for tonight.”
“May be next time dad, I promise that I will be back here soon.” I came closer to him and kiss him on his right cheek.
“Uncle we should go ahead. Thank you so much for the wonderful dinner. See you soon.” Denyx shook hands with dad.
“Thank Denyx. I owed you a lot.”
“It’s my pleasure to help uncle. Besides I will do what it takes to get justice for Anna and Aunt Amy.”
“And with that thank you. Thank you for coming too Kate. It’s been a pleasure to see my good friend.”
“Oh Arthur I am glad you’re back and thank you for the dinner.” Mrs. Kate hugged dad.
“Okay daddy I’ll see you tomorrow or the day after.”
“Okay sweetheart bye.”
Dad walked us to the main door and bid good bye to all of us.
While we were walking to the parking area. Denyx spoke.
“Babe, leave your car here. I’ll drive you home. We will drop off mom first.”
“It’s okay I can drive my car. You don’t have to worry about me.”
“It’s late dear, Denyx is right. Let your driver take your car tomorrow and you’ll be going with him. It’s not safe to drive alone at this time.” Mrs. Kate said.
“Babe, just please don’t argue. Come on we will ask your driver to take it tomorrow morning, but for now you’re going home with us.”
“Okay fine, I’ll go with you.” I agreed
“I’ll sit at the back and let Anna sit next to you son.” So Mrs. Kate opened the passenger’s door so no one can stop her. Denyx and I just shook our heads and smiled. He opened the door for me and I sat inside the car. Then he moved to the the driver side and open the door so he can sit. After we buckled our seatbelts he drove the car.
“Dear come to my house soon. I would love you to join me for brunch one of these days.”
“Sure Mrs. Kate. Once I am not that busy I’ll come over to your place or we can go out to have a brunch.”
“I love the idea. But please call me mom. Amy and I were good friends and you seems like a daughter to me. Now that you’re Denyx girlfriend you will call me mom. Once Mike is gone in my house then you are allowed to go come over with my son.”
“Thank you. That’s sounds perfect.”
Denyx was just listening to us while he is driving.
But I can tell that he is happy because he is now smiling.
Soon we arrived at Moore’s mansion. The guard opened the gate for us. Denyx drove straight inside and stopped right in from of the mansion.
He parked the car and get down to open the door for Mrs. Kate’s. Then he went back to the driver seat.
I lowered the window glass.
“Good night mom. Thank you for tonight.”
“Good night Anna. Thank you for the wonderful dinner.”
Suddenly Mike came out from the door while Mrs. Kate was bending a little bit talking to me.
“Did you just said Anna?” Mike asked seriously.
Mrs. Kate and I were startled hearing Mike’s voice.
Mrs. Kate suddenly turned her body to block my face. I closed the window glass so Mike can’t see me.
Denyx saw Mike was walking near us and his mom.
He opened the door and he came out and walked towards Mike so he can’t come closer to the car.
Denyx was trying to distract him, luckily the car is tented and he couldn’t see me. When he was near Mike he spoke.
“Hello Mike, I just dropped off mom, we went for a dinner. I thought you weren’t here so I didn’t invite you.”
“Oh hi Denyx. Glad to see you. It’s fine I didn’t expect to be back today so I didn’t inform Kate that I will be home. Besides I came home late already and you already left when I arrived.”
“Okay then I’ll go ahead now because it’s getting late. Good night Mike and mom.”
“Good night Denyx and I am looking forward to be back in the company.”
“So do I Mike.”
Mrs. Kate and Mike watched us leave and he then faced her.
“So I heard you were talking about Anna?”
“What do you mean?”
“Oh come on Kate, you know what I am talking.”
“You know what Mike? I am done with you.”
“No Kate you’re not. And believed me I will know it soon what are you up to.”
Mike held her left hand tightly to scare her. Then pushed her away and he went inside the house.
Denyx started the car and we left. While Mrs. Kate was left behind with Mike.
“Sorry babe, that was close. I didn’t expect Mike will be back today.”
“It’s fine at least he haven’t see me yet. As long as he doesn’t know yet that I am alive there will be no problem. I am just worried of your mom. Mike can be mean and very evil, what if he will do something to her?”
He held my left hand.
“Babe, nothing’s gonna happen to her because he want to get the company and he knew he can’t have it once he hurt her.”
I took a deep breath and we headed back to the apartment.
