***Denyx***
While I am waiting for the important call, Alex knocked on the door and rushed inside.
“Let’s go sir, our men are following Mr. Mc Len and he is heading to his wife and daughter’s tomb. We don’t have enough time to waste.”
“Great! Let’s go.” I stood up and we left my office.
I have been waiting for this time to see uncle Arthur. The last time we met was his wife and Anna’s funeral after that we heard nothing about him. Finally he is back. I can’t wait to see him. Alex drove faster than I can imagined, he knew how important it is to catch up with uncle Arthur.
“Alex, thank you for all these things. I can’t thank you enough for this.” I told him how grateful I am to my assistant which became my best friend.
“It’s nothing sir, you know I will do everything for you. This mean a lot to you and so it is to me. I never been see you happy except recently and I am glad that solving this case lessened your burden.”
“Have I tell you this? You’re one of a kind.” I laughed and so Alex did.
We’ve reached the cemetery where I used to come every weekend and I am much more familiar to it. I get down from car and Alex followed. I walked on the path where Anna and aunt Amy’s grave. On a distance I saw a man standing facing their tombstones and I am certain that it is uncle Arthur. I rushed to join him but two mens stopped me.
“Excuse me sir! May I know where are you going? The man wearing a black suit asked
“And who are you to question me? It’s none of your business” I asked angrily
“If you’re going to see our boss, yes! It is our business.” He said firmly
“What do you mean your boss? The man standing there?” Alex interrupted while pointing to where uncle Arthur is standing.
“Yes, you’re right.” The man on his black suit replied.
“You have nothing to worry then tell Mr. Mc Len that Denyx Moore want to see him.” Alex said before I could react.
” Go John, tell sir. Arthur” the man said.
So John walked to uncle Arthur and after awhile he came back and signal his head to his pal to let me go.
“You may go sir. He wanted to see you.” The man John said.
I walked faster than normal to where uncle Arthur is.
Suddenly he faced me when he heard my footsteps.
“Uncle Arthur!” I called his name excitedly
“Denyx! Is that really you?” He asked happily
“Yes uncle it’s me.”
“Oh boy you’re a grown up man now. Come here.”
He opened his arms and I came closer to him and hug him.
“It’s been a long time uncle. You haven’t changed that much you still look handsome like before.” I smiled
“Ha.. ha.. I’m an old man now boy.”
“Look at you! You looked exactly like your father. I’m sorry to heard that he was gone. I didn’t even make it to his funeral”
“It’s okay uncle it wasn’t your fault. I knew it was the saddest part of your life when you lose the two important persons. I do understand what you’ve been through uncle because I’d been there.”
“Thank you Denyx, you became a fine man. I heard about your success but you stand still on the same ground. You’re father must be very proud of you especially how responsible and successful you are now.”
“My father was a great man and became my mirror and I owed everything to him uncle.”
“certainly is… By the way how do you know I’m here?” Uncle Arthur asked
“Oh, I often comes here uncle to see Anna and aunt Amy. But I was actually searching for you and it came that I found you here. I have a very important matter to discuss with you.”
“Is that so? What is it?”
I gave him the envelope that contains an evidence about the incident of his daughter and wife.
He took it on my hand and opened it.
‘You have evidence?” Uncle Arthur look surprised
“Yes, uncle and my step father was the murderer. I won’t be surprise too if he killed my father for his leverage.”
There were silence between us
“I hired an investigator long time back and I found out that it wasn’t an accident but sabotaged but I don’t have enough proof and I know you’re father cannot do a crime so I left and never comeback.”
“I understand uncle and this is your chance to give them justice.”
“Thank you Denyx, you’re right. Mike deserve to be in jail. I can’t believe how he betrayed your father when he trusted Mike. He is a greedy man.” He frowned
“Yes, he also took advantage to his marriage with mom. He cheated on her and manipulate the Moor Company. I trusted him that much because mom once loved him.” holding back my anger
“How is Kate? I hope she’s okay after knowing Mike’s scheme.”
“She’s fine uncle. Mom filed a divorce papers earlier this month soon enough she will be free from that evil man. I won’t forgive him and I will make sure he will stay in jail forever.”
“Let’s go then. I will go straight to the police station to file a. case against Mike Cameron.” Uncle Arthur said.
“I’ll come with you to the police station uncle but I will catch up with you on other day because I have an important meeting tonight.”
“No problem Denyx. I will be at Mc Len mansion only. I won’t go back to Boston anymore.” While we are walking uncle Arthur informed me.
“That’s a good news uncle. I can visit you anytime.”
Alex opened the door for us.
“Alex tell uncle Arthur’s driver and assistant to follow us.”
“Yes sir.”
I let uncle Arthur get in the car first before sitting next to him.
“Drive to the nearest police station Alex.”
“Okay sir.”
Along the way uncle Arthur asked me again.
“Are you married son?”
“No, uncle, I am still a batchelor.”
“Oohh son, you should give your mother a grandson soon.”
“Ha.. ha..” I laughed
“You’re a successful man now and it is the right time to find a woman to be your half.”
“I wish it is easy as we says uncle.”
“We are here sir.” Alex interrupted
“Come on uncle let’s go down. I opened the door and came down the assist uncle Arthur. We went inside the police station.
“Good afternoon Misters. What can I help you?” The police officer asked.
Uncle Arthur handed the envelope to the police man.
He opened it and was surprised.
“I want this case to reopen and I am filing a case against Mike Cameron for killing my wife.” Sir Arthur stated
“Actually sir it is good that you asked to reopen this case because the police officer who was in-charge on this case were relieved to their work because the police head department found out their scheme and your case was one of those cases which they forge documents.” The police officer informed us.
We will release the warrant of arrest tomorrow morning because this is a notorious case long ago.”
After we signed some statement and securing the evidence I looked at the time.
“Uncle Arthur I need to leave. I have a meeting to catch up.”
“Sure son! Go ahead first, I don’t want to keep your time anymore, you’d done enough for me today and I am glad for your help. I owed you this. I have something to tell you tomorrow evening at Mc Len mansion. Please bring Kate with you.”
“That’s great uncle we will be there tomorrow at 7 o’clock in the evening. Take care and see you.”
“Thank you and see you.”
I walked to my car where Alex was already waiting.
“Alex go straight to Johnson’s company, we will pickup up Chloe. And have you book the reservation?”
“Yes sir.”
“Good. I don’t want anybody to disturb us.
I asked Alex to book the Arc restaurant exclusive only for us. Tonight I want this to be special for her. Everytime I get closer to her, I wanted to hold her on my arms. I’ve been cold and arrogant to all the women who had interest with me but Chloe was different. He kept her distance to me all the time. I wanted to kiss those lips again.
“Sir we are here. Should I call her assistant?” Alex reminds me when my mind dozed off.
“Yes, please call her secretary that’s what she instructed.”
Alex dialed Kat number and I heard him says.
“Hello Miss Gonzalez can you please tell Ms. Mack that sir Denyx Moore is waiting down here for her? Okay thank you.” Alex ended the call. I looked at my watch and it is sharp 6 o’clock in the evening.
“Sir her secretary said she’s coming down.”
“Good.”
I get down from the car and waited for Chloe and sure enough after few minutes I can see her walking toward us. The guard opened the door for her and I walked toward her to fitch her.
“Good evening Chloe.” I smiled
“Good evening too Denyx.” On a serious look.
“You look gorgeous tonight.” I told her.
“Thank you.” She replied coldly.
I opened the door for her to get in the car and closed it. I walked to the other side of the door and sat on the passenger seat next to her.
“Let’s go Alex.”
Alex just nodded his head.
There were silence between us. My heart beats so fast. But I tried to start the awkwardness.
“How’s your work today?”
“It was good.” And she shrugged her shoulders
“I hope you won’t mind having dinner at ARC restaurant? I asked.
“Not at all.” She said shortly
“Great!” I replied and She was just looking outside the window most of the time. She didn’t bother to look at me. Something must up why she’s very cold.
We were silent throughout the drive until we reached the restaurant.
