RICARDO MILLICENT CLASSIC HOTEL
Several people trooped their way into the extremely large building with intricate delicate features. Big cars of different makes were parked outside the building, down the lane. Only VIP members of the hotel are allowed to park their vehicles in the underground garage inside the hotel.
Fenriz and Elena alighted from their tinted Mercedes-Benz latest model, and Elena flipped her hair to the back, trying to show an intimidating charisma as all eyes turned on her. She wore her dark sunshade and Fenriz did the same, together with other members who followed them.
They converged at the entrance of the hotel and Fenriz stopped moving before the rest behind could proceed.
“Are you guys prepared?” He asked and they replied positively in chorus.
“Now, you should all switch on your communicating devices for easy communication with one another. We don’t know what might happen, but I want no mistakes! Any problem, you report it first! Okay?”
“Yes, boss.”
“Let’s move.” Fenriz led them into the hotel, and they diverged when they got inside. Elena walked around, greeting the people she recognizes and those she doesn’t as long as they are males. She winked at some who returned the flirty gesture and suddenly, someone held her hand from behind, dragging her to a secluded corner.
“What are you doing? What do you think you’re doing?” Reid, asked harshly, pinning her to the wall with his strong hands to prevent her from escaping from his grip.
“I’m on a mission and you know that. You should take some chill pills, okay?” She whispered back at him.
“Does that mean you should throw yourself at them? Must you use your pu**y to complete the mission?” Asked Reid.
“What does it look like? I haven’t even gotten hold of anyone and you’re acting this way. Don’t tell me you’re jealous.”
“I won’t say much. Just be careful, no other dick should go in there, else…”
“When did you start ordering me around, do I look like your minion or underling? I do what I want with my body, whenever I want to. And you have no say!” Elena typically spat at him. She was already pissed by his words and would have reacted badly to show her anger, but being in public, she has to control herself.
She pushed Reid away from her, and he held her back tightly.
“Don’t blame me when I tell Collins and Fenriz how evil and scheming you are.”
“You won’t dare. We shall both fall together in that case.” She threatened back and he released his grip on her.
Fenriz roamed the hotel, and finally got the heads-up that the mafia ball would be taking place in the ballroom on the second floor of the hotel building. He passed the information to every other member, and they exited the little event going on the first floor for the ballroom.
Vaulted ceilings embellished with scalloped edgings and plaster medallions describe just how the ballroom looked like. Glossy hardwood floors with thick velvet drapes over large French windows made the arena lovely. Complimenting the structure are high walls with crown moldings, curved observation balconies on an upper level, tiered crystal chandeliers glittering in the soft light, Indoor fluted columns, archway entries, panel moldings, decorative inserts and sconces and a spiral staircase and balustrade to the second level where several people are standing by, with smiles plastered on their faces.
Guests wearing tuxedos and gowns with dark hats swam through its area with their clothing dripping with affluence and influence. Women with updos and expensive jewelry, hold the arms of their respective men to show the other ladies not to cross their path.
Fenriz greeted the people he passed by, with a nod of his head, while listening to reports from his ear device. He sat at an empty set of round dining tables decorated with white tablecloths, napkin puffs in wine glasses, perfectly polished and spaced silverware, and gold-edged china place settings with flower centerpieces. A waiting staff among the crowd offering canapés passed by, and he picked up a glass of champagne.
Dancers swirling around at the far front from where he sat caught his attention and he noticed a girl odd among them. She was wearing a long-sleeved sky-blue fitted top and a long asymmetrical skirt of the same color. Unlike every other dancer, she had an ear device fixated on her right ear. Her earing seemed to be normal but, Fenriz recognized it to be a hidden camera. He saw the lens on the earring and immediately knew that something is coming up. He dropped his empty glass on a small tray a waiter was carrying, and moved to the dance floor. He began dancing with her, but she felt a bit nervous. Swirling and twirling to the music, they danced for a minute until Fenriz came up with a question.
“What’s your name, dear?”
“Camille, Just Camille.” She replied, still holding on to him, but with a slower dance pace.
“Nice name for a beautiful girl like you. How long have you been dancing?”
“It should be around seven years.”
“You look really young to have danced for seven years.”
“I began when I was fifteen.” She answered, looking up at Fenriz’s eyes. Fenriz caught sight of a mark on her neck and without a doubt, she belonged to a mafia clan.
He tried to recall whose clan that mark belongs to, but he couldn’t. It was like he hasn’t seen it before.
“Which clan are you from?”
Camille’s eyes changed drastically with nervousness and Fenriz felt it in her hand on his neck.
“I mean, this party is for the mafia. Definitely, everyone here belongs to a clan.”
“Just some clan….” She cut him short with a smile that appeared as a smirk.
“I…”
“We welcome all our mafia bosses and respective Dons of the great Italian mafia that are present here today….” The voice of the event organizer interrupted Fenriz and he left the dance floor while the dancers vacated the hall.
“As we all know that a mafia ball is an annual event, this time around, the event turned out this way due to some reasons. But I assure you, you’re going to have fun, nevertheless. Let the party begin.” The organizer concluded and everyone clapped amidst cheers.
“What party is starting? Are we not humans? We are respected bosses with dignity. We need an explanation for this impromptu ball. Moreover, why wasn’t there a bid for the ball host? Or was there any and we weren’t aware?”
“No, no, there wasn’t” the crowd replied, reasoning with the man’s words.
“Who is that?” Terry asked from behind Fenriz.
“He’s Sebastian, the Don of the Frixerdy Clan.”
“Wow, I’ve always heard about him, but never knew I’ll meet him in this way. He’s one arrogant, feisty boss but I heard he’s caring too and cherishes females a lot.”
“Yes, that’s why he never partakes in dangerous activities and bids to prevent danger for his family and clan. If he were to rise in ranks, he would lose his precious women.”
Terry muttered an ‘oh’ and immediately became silent. The organizer didn’t know how to reply until someone came to his aid. No, some people. They are all tall and eight in number. Three males, and five females dressed in all black with shades on their faces. They entered backstage and stopped in front of the occupants.
“Woow” Terry’s jaw dropped. “This is something else”
“They should be the Sinclairs.” Fenriz blurted out and Terry gasped.
“Should we do something? Snap them? Trail them? Monitor them? Spy on them?…..”
“Would you just shut up! Always acting like a lady. Some ladies are more sensible than you.” Fenriz scolded.
“I bought the host position ahead. Is there a problem?” the man in front of the group with a thick voice said, standing on the stage while the organizer moved back.
“Who are you? Why can’t you wait for the bid?”
“I know every one of you here can’t afford to get the spot. I paid a billion dollars for it. Can you afford it?”
“What? A billion dollars!” Everyone gasped in shock. Truly, that was a huge sum of money.
“See, you all can’t afford it even in years to come.”
“What the hell do you mean? Do you take us as incapable? No matter what, you should play it fair if you really want to get it.” Someone from downstage spoke but regretted his action immediately.
The thick-voiced man flicked his fingers and a gunshot was heard. The member who countered with a question was down on his knees, groaning in pain.
“What’s the meaning of that? Are you insane? An answer is all we need. You are breaking the rules of the ball.” Fenriz couldn’t stay silent anymore.
“You should keep your mouth shut, young boy. I make the rules and every one of you follows them” the man gesticulated, pointing his fingers at every one of them.
“Never! The Vladimirs will never be a showdown.” Fenriz yelled in defense and another gunshot was heard. He was shot in the chest. Gasps everywhere, Reid ran over to inspect the wound, Terry began panicking and was nearly on the verge of tears. Other members were signaled to stay away and they complied.
“That’s a warning for you, boy. To every one of you, I will tell you right now and here that I rule the mafia clans. Take it or leave it, I bet you won’t want to end up like him.” He referred to Fenriz who was in pain. I’m all his life, this would only be the second time he would get shot.
The man was about to descend the stage but stopped after two steps.
“Hey, Fenriz. Tell your father to watch out. He should watch his steps because I am back. I AM BACK FOR HIM!!!!”
He and his members left, with a sign on the wall in bold, ‘SINCLAIRS” and a gunshot in the air.
