The lightly dim hotel room was very silent that the breathing sound of its occupant could be heard. On the tiled floor are clothes of two people scattered on the floor and the free spaces available on the bed. They were clothes of a male and a female. Weapon’s eyes fluttered open as he adjusted to the feel of where he was.
Moments of lust between him and his boss’s daughter flashed through his mind and he became alert. He tried to stand up but felt a mass on his arm which stopped him from moving. Cassandra’s head was on his arm as her body lay very close to him on the bed. He tried removing his hand, but she turned on her side, adjusting her head properly on his arm. Weapon tried to remove his hand and Cassandra woke up. Her hair was rough as part of it covered her face.
She let out a breath and looked beside her. Seeing Weapon, she curled up to herself, covering her body with the bedsheet and mumbling inaudible words to herself.
Weapon stood up, clad in his boxers and moved away from the bed. His hands folded behind him, showing his masculine body. His body build was so alluring, with his packs, so evident. Cassandra’s eyes glinted at the view until she recalled the events of the afternoon.
“I’m sorry for what happened, I didn’t mean to lose control” Weapon spoke up first, heading to the bathroom.
“I can take responsibility for what happened if you want,” he added quickly, nervous as Cassandra didn’t say a word or reply to him.
Cassandra his her face from him, biting her lower lip in embarrassment. She was the cause of the whole thing that happened between them. “Never am I going to get drunk again,” she swore in her mind. “Responsibility?” her eyes widened. “What does he mean by responsibility? Marry me? Oh no! I’m dead meT if dad should hear about this. Dad would never tolerate me having a relationship of any sort with his underling.”
She turned to face Weapon, “You don’t need to worry. I want you to forget about this. It was just a moment of you know,” she paused, not knowing what to say next.
“I understand ma’am, you don’t have to say anything,” he said in a jiffy and left for the bathroom. After two minutes, he was done with his body clean-up. Without saying another word to Cassandra, he left her in the room and exited the hotel to avoid more embarrassment.

CHARDEL HOSPITAL
Katrina was playing with Drake and Jasmine’s nanny as she listened to Drake’s stories and gestures about the time he spent with the nanny. Like magic and with the help of her little one, she became so free with Mother Belinda.
“I can see you’re having a nice time,” Jasper spoke from the entrance. He carried a basket of fruit in his left hand, while Jasmine’s small hands were in his right hand. She was carrying a teddy bear with her.
“Jasmine!” Drake squealed and rushed down to hug her. The two of them had bonded within a little time, kudos to Jasmine’s kindness and gentleness.
“I brought this for you.” she handed the teddy to him and he collected it.
“Ma’am Belinda,” Jasper placed his hands on her shoulder. She was like a mother figure to him as she was old enough to be his mother. She held his hands with her old fingers and kissed them. “May you live long my son” she
prayed.
“You too, may you continue to live long. I’m so grateful for your help. I wouldn’t have made it far without you.” he said kissing her knuckles.
Sitting beside Katrina’s bed, Jasper smiled at her and held her hand. She stiffened under his touch and lowered her gaze.
“I’m not going to hurt you. Feel free to talk to me.”
Katrina managed to nod and wear a smile. Jasper touched her head carefully, checking the bandaged injury. “Does it hurt?”
“Not anymore, Just slightly.”
“That’s good. Have you eaten?”
“Yes, we ate macaroons and ketchup,” Drake answered and Jasper ruffles his hair, smiling at him with so much affection. “That’s good, little champ.”
Katrina’s eyes brightened at Jasper’s last word. “Little champ”. The word brought back memories to her mind and tears streamed down her cheeks.
“Sister Katrina, why are you crying?” Jasmine held her hand looking intently at her face.
“Nothing” she shakes her head sideways.
“It’s alright, you don’t have to cry. All will be well.” Jasper pulled her into a hug and kissed her forehead.
“You seem nice,” Katrina uttered looking at Jasper’s face.
“I’ll always be nice to you. You’re now like a daughter to me. In fact, you’re already my daughter. Are you willing to live with me as one?”
“Yes, but I….” she paused and after a while, refused to speak.
“What is it? You can speak to me, I’ll always be here for you, okay?”
Ma’am Belinda placed her head on Jasper’s and nodded her head sideways telling him not to push it. Jasper dipped his hand into his back pocket and brought out a new android phone and gave it to her.
“Take this, my contact is there. Feel free to put a call through whenever you need.”
Jasper stood up, checking his wristwatch. “The day is far spent, I would go see the doctor, then discuss your discharge from the hospital.”
“Did you see my daddy?” Drake asked Jasper before he left. “No, no one showed up. Even if he does, I’ll still be taking over your parentship. Without telling me anything, I can see what he’s like the day I met him.”
“If he proves stubborn, I’ll sue him for child abuse.”
With that, he left. Ma’am Belinda switched on the television to keep the kids busy as she wanted to go get some groceries. She informed them of her intention and left too.
A woman showed on the TV, casting news to her audience and Katrina rested her back on the bed, watching with less enthusiasm.
“The breaking news reaching us now is a surprising one. The heiress to the Wortin empire, Cassandra Hanswort, the daughter of the popular Grey Hanswort, was cited at the DERLICK HOTEL with another young man. It was confirmed that they spent quite some time there, before coming out of the hotel. Fans of the family and their brands are confused about what happened between her and the young man, as well as their relationship. Is she cheating on her husband?”
Jasper returned from the doctor’s office. To his amazement, Katrina was sweating and crying profusely, her body shaking violently. He ran to her side asking what went wrong.
“Katrina, what’s wrong?” he wanted to call for the doctor but stopped when she pointed in the direction of the TV.
“The television, what’s wrong with it? Should I switch it off?” Jasper asked, thinking that she does watch TV or is scared of it as he had no idea of how she lived previously, what she likes and what she doesn’t.
Drake, whose attention has been caught looked at the TV. “Mother?” he uttered.
“What do you mean?”Jasper questioned looking at the boy.
“She’s the one” Katrina managed to say.”
“That’s our stepmother,” Drake said, pointing at the Television.
Jasper raised his head, only to meet with Cassandra’s picture on the screen. “What?”
