Dylan POV
Two things have been on my mind throughout the weekend. It was about Amelia and the trip to Paris. There was a huge business deal in Paris and I needed to travel down there to close up the deal. When I entered my office, I saw coffee on my table which meant Amelia was around. I called her and asked her to come to my office.
A few seconds later, she knocked and entered. I looked at her and frowned because I was angry at her for leaving on Friday without telling me.
“Have you fixed the meeting with the Chinese investors? ” I asked and she shook her head.”Answer with words Amelia” I said getting angry, how could she not set the meeting with the investors. She gave her her reply and that infuriated me more.
“It slipped your mind like it did when you forgot to call me that you were leaving “I shouted and I saw her jump in my voice. “Answer me Amelia and what the fuck happened to your hand? ” I asked and grabbed her hand.
What the hell was she thinking?
She apologized for not telling me why she left on Friday. I could have called her but I didn’t want history to repeat itself, the feelings were growing stronger and it was hard to keep my hands to myself when she was around me.
I hated it made me weak.
“Make sure you treat your hand and don’t make mistakes like that in the future” I instructed. ” set the meeting with the investors and then we will talk about why you left without telling me,” I told her.
She told my mother but my mother didn’t inform me. Could she be lying and why was she bringing up Anna? Anna was the one who stood by me when she left me, I’ll do anything for her.
“Don’t use that tone on me Amelia ” I said. “At least you could have waited for me to come before you leave, I wanted to thank you for coming, ” I told her. Of course, I wanted to thank her because my grandmother felt safe around her and I liked it. She asked after my grandmother and I replied to her then she apologized
“Go set the meeting Amelia “I ordered, I couldn’t stand her presence for too long because if I do I’ll do something I’ll regret. She bowed and left the office.
I sat down on my chair and tried to work on the computer but I couldn’t because she was on my mind. The kiss we shared that night was unforgettable but I pretended it didn’t happen. I couldn’t stay too long without seeing her so I called her into my office to help sort out some files whereas I just wanted them around me.
What the fuck was going on with me? What was I doing?
Lunch came and I dismissed her, Anna called and started throwing tantrums about me not calling her, not my fault though I just don’t feel the spark between us anymore. I don’t know if I loved her or not. I just do not want her to be sad because she helped me when I needed help the most.
“Look, Anna, I’ll call you to come over tonight. Are you happy now?
I said to her over the phone, she chuckled and I could picture the smile on her face.
“I’ll be expecting your call, Dylan. I love you” she said.
I ended the call because I couldn’t say the word, I don’t love her as I thought. It was not loving, it was just mere lust. I couldn’t tell I don’t love her, it will hurt her . my heart had always been with one person, that one person that I couldn’t get out of my mind but does she feel the same.
The lunch ended some minutes ago even though I didn’t go for lunch, I called Amelia’s landline but she wasn’t picking up.
” Is she not back from lunch?” I questioned myself as I paced around my office wondering where she might be.
I called Diana the receptionist because she knows who goes out of the office or inside of the office.
“Have you seen Amelia brown today? ” I asked, sounding more like a lover than a boss.
“Yes sir, we both went for lunch. She should be in her office by now cause we left a few minutes ago ” I ended the call because I was furious, how could she be in her office and not pick up my call? I entered her office and met an empty chair. Did she disappear or what? Is that receptionist playing me? I tried her cell phone but it wasn’t going through. What was going on? I went back to my office and contemplated what to do. my landline rang and I picked it up.
“Dylan Blackstone here, how may I help you? ”
“Sir there has been a breach In the security system, the elevator had also stopped working” the voice informed me and I knew it was from the security department.
“What do you mean by a breach, figure it out already,” I ordered. “Someone could be stuck in an elevator right now,” I shouted at the person on the phone.
“We are working on it sir, it will soon be fixed,” the person on the phone said. I hung up in frustration and walked out of the office.
“What if Amelia was stuck in the elevator right now?” That explains everything and how someone tampered with my security system because our security system was tight. Someone was playing a mind game with me and I was going to find out and make the person pay.
I walked to the elevator and pressed it to see if it was already working but It wasn’t. I groaned in frustration and called the head of the security department threatening to do something if they didn’t fix the elevator on time. A few minutes later they called and said that it had been fixed. I pressed the button on the elevator to see if it had started working and I got the shock of my life. Amelia lay inside the elevator and probably passed out.
“Oh my God, how long was she in there?” I asked no one in particular. I walked into the elevator and carried her in bridal style.
“Amelia, Amelia “I called my name and carried her. “Open your eyes, Amelia, ” I shouted but she was losing consciousness. I walked out of the elevator with her and breathed a sigh of relief when she called out my name.
“Dylan,” she said and lost consciousness.

“Doctor, is she going to be fine? I asked the doctor who attended to Amelia.
“Well she is, she just needs rest. Thank God you found her on time if not she would have died” the doctor said.
“I’m glad I found her on time, ” I replied and stared at her. She laid peacefully on the bed like an angel who had never sinned.
“She will wake up in a few hours, don’t worry, she’ll be fine,” the doctor assured me and walked out of the room.
I touched Amelia and wondered what would have happened if I didn’t find her on time. she could have died right under my nose.
“I’ll be back Amelia, “I told her and walked out of the room. I reached the office and set a meeting with the security department because I had to find the fool who had tampered with the security system.
“How could someone tamper with the security system and you couldn’t do anything about it?” I shouted furiously at the security. “You are trained in IT securities, how could you not sense a fault in the security system,” I asked them, waiting for their answers.
“Sorry sir for the errors and misunderstanding, “someone said, it was the assistant head.
“Sorry? That sorry could have ruined somebody’s life. Who was in charge when this happened?” I asked them and the head assistant raised his hand. ” well you are fired” I told him and he tried to talk but I shut him off. “Keep your words to yourself and GET OUT” I shouted at him. The man walked out and I could see the rest trembling where they stood. I turned to look at the head of the securities and frowned at him. “Find a new and good assistant, no one could get to our security system except one of you. You all are fired” I said and they began to murmur. ” Dennis recruits new IT securities, the only reason is not firing you right now is because you were not around and you are a trusted employee. The next time this happens, consider yourself gone from this establishment. Find the fool who tampered with the security system and let me know when you do, the meeting is dismissed. ” I said and walked out of the securities y department.
As I walked into my office, I thought of Who could have tampered with the security system? How could they have done it? This was getting too complicated for me to understand but I was going to find out who was behind it.
