“I hope to find you a good teacher who will teach you how to behave. Teacher Grace is too strict. I’m afraid that her teaching style is not suitable for you. Don’t worry, I will definitely find a better teacher for you.” Bobby Lameer’s mother coaxed him as she belittled Stella with her words.
Stella Grace stood there like a rock. She smiled elegantly and composedly.
Parents held an important role in developing their child’s personality.
Since she was not accepted by Bobby’s mother, to speak up would just be doing herself a disservice.
“I just want Teacher Grace,” Bobby Lameer insisted.
“Why aren’t you listening to me? When your father comes back, he will teach you a lesson.” Bobby’s mother scolded.
Stella looked at Bobby and said, “Bobby, you are a smart and wise child. You’ll be fine even without my guidance. Even if I am not your teacher, as long as you get into the top ten in the monthly assessments, I’m keeping the promise we made before.”
“Teacher Grace, how much did they hire you for? If they aren’t going to hire you, then I will,” Bobby said willfully.
“You can’t afford to pay Teacher Grace’s salary. Her wage is eight thousand dollars a day, your monthly allowance is only enough to cover her one day’s wage.” Bobby’s mother said disdainfully.
The headmaster was astounded at the money Stella made and looked at her.
Her two days’ worth of salary was enough for him to cover for the rest of the year.
She felt that it would only make matters worse if she stayed any longer. She bowed to Bobby’s mother and walked out of the office.
“Please wait a minute, Teacher Grace.” Bobby’s mother shouted.
Stella stopped.
“You’ve only taught Bobby for a few hours. If we go by the hourly wage of one thousand dollars, could you refund the balance?” Bobby’s mother said with a cold face.
Stella did not get angry. Instead, she smiled slightly and said, “Madam, please do get a lawyer and read through the terms of our agreement, then we’ll talk.”
“How could you be so thick-skinned? You had only taught Bobby for a few hours and yet you are charging us almost two hundred thousand dollars. Even a prostitute doesn’t make that much money. Are you going to refund the money or not? If you don’t, don’t you dare think that you’ll have it easy in the future.” Bobby’s mother warned her.
Stella stared at her with disgust. Her eyes were blank and soulless.
Bobby’s mother frowned. “What are you looking at?”
“Our business relationship has come to an end. However, I would like to remind you that there are things that you can say out loud and there are things that you can’t.” Stella warned her and stormed toward the stairs.
Bobby’s mother was bewildered at her audacity. When she came to her senses, Stella was already out of the building.
She walked out of the school gate, got in a taxi and returned to the hotel. She called Frederick Addington and said, “There’s no need to look for mercenaries anymore. The plan has changed. I’m jobless right now.”
“What’s going on?” Frederick asked over the phone worriedly.
“Something unexpected came up, I’ll talk to you about it when I get back.” She hung up the phone, looked out of the window and sighed.
Originally, she wanted to take advantage of the counseling job to get close to Ryan Lameer. Unfortunately, there were too many uncertainties in the world. She had to expect the unexpected and she had to learn to adapt, improvise, overcome when things did not turn out the way she wanted it to.
When she arrived at the hotel, Frederick was already there waiting for her.
“Are you okay? They didn’t make things difficult for you, did they?” he asked Stella with concern.
She shook her head. “They interfered with my treatment, so I terminated the contract. If they continued intervening in the treatment, I wouldn’t be able to cure Bobby within three months.”
“Did you really have the confidence to cure him within three months?” Frederick asked as he raised his eyebrow.
She smiled slightly and said, “Bobby has a high comprehension ability. He just needed a little nudge to get him back on track. Had they not interfered, I could probably cure him in less than a month. However, if the outsiders insist on diverging his path, he will be stained to the core. It’s all heaven’s will. I’ll pack my things and go back to A City.”
“That’s great. No one would dare to bully you in my territory.” Frederick claimed.
“Well, as long as you’re not the one doing the bullying, that’s fine.” Stella said profoundly.
“…” Frederick was speechless.
As she was packing her luggage, Frederick’s cell phone rang. He checked to see who called. He frowned, turned around and went out. He answered the phone and asked, “What’s wrong?”
“Jasper said that he doesn’t want to marry me. What do you think I should do?” Bettany Hadley asked in a low voice.
“Isn’t throwing a tantrum and making a fuss your forte? You were very confident in yourself in the beginning. This is a task given to you by your superiors, you should solve it yourself.” Frederick said coldly.
“If I force him to marry me, he would only hate me. He won’t feel happy being married to me.” Bettany said irritably.
“That’s your problem, not mine! I’m busy now. I’m hanging up.” He didn’t want to continue the conversation and hung up immediately.
Bettany was frustrated. She stomped her feet indignantly. Then, she took a few breaths to calm herself. She called Jasper Milton and said, “Jasper, my child must have a father. I’ve neglecting him for five years already. Don’t abandon us, okay? We only have you.”
“Our child will have a father. I will do my duty as a father, and I will take care of both of you for the rest of my life. However, my wife is Stella Grace and only her alone. I’m sorry?” Jasper said in a deep, firm voice.
“When you needed her the most, she left you and went to Frederick. Why are you still holding on to her? I am the one you need to take care of, am I not?” Bettany said in distress.
“Bettany, it is stated in the agreement that whoever initiates the break up first will be have the assets to their name wiped clean. I have three properties and a personal savings of one million and eighty thousand dollars to my name. I will let my lawyer deal with them.” Jasper was unperturbed.
“I don’t want your property, and I don’t want your money either. Jasper, I was wrong. I shouldn’t have forced you. Please void the agreement. I don’t want our child to lose the opportunity to see you because of my selfishness.” She compromised.
Jasper was silent for a while and said, “Thank you, but the law is the law. Don’t worry, I will take good care of you and our child, and I will also acknowledge his identity. That’s all for now, I still have work to do.”
After saying that, Jasper hung up immediately.
Bettany threw her mobile phone against the wall.
Three houses, one million and eighty thousand, these were just a drop of the bucket compared to Milton Corporation. She herself had more money than that. She didn’t need all those.
Stella Grace was the only person he cared about.
Other than the fact that Stella was younger, more beautiful, and had a better figure, she couldn’t comprehend which part of Stella made Jasper fall for her so hard.
