There was a saying that time is the best medicine.
How long must one take to forget pain?
How long must one take to forget someone?
Which is the right path for her to take?
A person had to experience various jobs in order to find the most suitable one.
Stella Grace wanted to go abroad to study psychology.
She knew that she was sick, that she was not mentally well.
She could not rely on others. She wanted to be independent and save herself.
But to do this, she required a huge amount of money. Moreover it was not easy to enroll in a university she wanted.
Psychology in the United States was way more advanced than A Country.
Numerous mental health clinics were built there for the past 20 years.
Seeing a psychiatrist was just as common as visiting a general practitioner there.
After she was discharged from the hospital, she made a phone call to Greg Miles. She told him her plans. She needed his help to arrange things. Also, she wanted work at his research institution after graduation.
Greg agreed immediately.
At the beginning of the year,
Stella resigned from the Inspector Institution and started working at Greg’s research institution.
She was good at learning, and she passed her IELTS with flying colors.
On the third of March,
she completed all the required procedures and began her journey to the United States. Greg, Eli Wayne and Frederick Addington came to send her off.
“Did you save the phone number? My alumnus will meet you there. I already arranged accommodation and admission to the university for you. People are very open-minded there and they like girls from our country,” Greg reminded her.
Stella smiled, “Are you afraid that I won’t come back if I find a husband over there? Don’t worry, I already signed the contract. I will definitely come back and work for you for 5 years.”
“Stella, remember to video call me once a week. I will come visit you once my one-month leave gets approved. Please take care of yourself. Don’t isolate yourself from others. If you see someone you like, just go for it. I support you,” Eli advised her
“You too. Find a good man as soon as possible,” Stella said to Eli.
Stella turned to Frederick.
Frederick had a lot of things to tell her, but all the words were stuck in his throat.
Even a good-looking, articulate man like him was lost for words at times.
He had never fallen in love with a woman until now. But know he finally knew how it felt to truly love a person.
Stella spoke first. “Hey, Frederick. From now on, you don’t owe me anything.”
Eli turned to look at Frederick.
She still did not like him, probably because of what he had done to Stella.
He watched Stella as she walked into the waiting room. In the end, he was unable to say anything to her.
However, he did do something that made Eli gnash her teeth in anger.
Frederick had also bought a ticket to the United States. It was the same flight as Stella, and he even got himself a first class seat.
He exchanged his first class seat with the person sitting beside Stella.
Stella looked at him in surprise.
“I have a villa in the United States. You can live in my villa if you want. If you like it, I can give it to you,” Frederick offered softly.
Stella was very calm, “I don’t hate you, and I don’t blame you, but I won’t fall in love with you again.”
“Will you fall in love with Jasper again?” he frowned.
“No, I won’t,” said Stella. “Maybe I’m not very smart or sensible, but I know that if I slipped this one time, and if I’m not careful enough, I will make the same mistake again.”
“Then I’ll remove all the obstacles for you so that you won’t make that mistake again.” Frederick promised.
Stella smiled, “I can’t stop you if you want to do that. I don’t want to repeat the same mistakes. I want to see the world.”
“Then, can we be friends?” Frederick asked.
“I don’t think my future husband would like the idea of me befriending my ex-husband,” Stella said coldly.
He was a bit angry. “You said that you don’t hate nor blame me, but you don’t want me to be in your life anymore? Are you lying then?”
Stella stopped talking to him and lied back on the chair. She reclined her seat and looked out of the window.
If someone really wanted to hurt her, it’s not as if the person would stop just by her saying no to him or her.
She was not even scared of death anymore. Would she still be afraid of getting hurt?
Stella was invulnerable.
Frederick could do nothing to her.
Now, he understood how Stella felt.
She had loved him and yet he ignored her. She probably knew how he was feeling right now.
He couldn’t bear it for even one minute. How did she survive all these years?
“Stella, I’ll wait for you. Whether it’s three years, ten years, or even thirty years, I’ll wait for you,” Frederick promised.
That was the last thing he said to her before sending her to the United States.
Time passed by quickly.
It only took Stella three years to complete her Doctorate in Psychology.
She was every lecturer’s favorite student.
She was a god-like entity among the students.
Her hypnotic skills were excellent.
During those three years, she even assisted the FBI in four criminal cases, one which received global attention.
She became well-known in the field of psychology.
The FBI sent her an invitation to join their team.
Furthermore, the university also hoped that she would stay there.
But she chose to return to her home country.
Because she promised Greg that she would work for him for five years.
On the day she returned home, she didn’t inform anyone. She bought a first class seat.
Besides studying, she also worked part-time in a clinic.
The university granted her numerous scholarships.
After she became well-known, a few famous people had become her patients.
She had 520 million dollars in her bank account.
She could pamper herself.
The first-class seat had all the privacy she wanted. The seat also served as a massage chair. In addition, there was also a HD television. The room was built with shock-absorbent and soundproof material. The flight attendant also served her exclusively.
Stella elegantly cut her steak, enjoyed the red wine, and listened to piano music.
She was twenty-eight years old. She had married and then divorced. She had two boyfriends before. And now, she was single.
Suddenly, an announcement came on the flight and the urgent voice of a female flight attendant was heard. “This is an emergency call. Ladies and Gentlemen, we have an expectant mother who is going into labor. We need a doctor now!”
Stella put down her cutlery.
She had not touched a scalpel in four years. She was a little worried that she could not do it.
She went to see if there were any other doctors available before she opened the door of the room.
The pregnant woman, who was also in first-class, was lying on the ground.
The woman was clasping Jasper Milton’s hand tightly. Her water had already broke. Her face was twisted in pain.
“Elsa, don’t be afraid. There must be a doctor here who can help,” Jasper comforted her.
Stella did not expect that they would meet in this situation.
