59. The Death of Nick

Book:BROKEN : Satanic Verses Published:2024-5-1

When Nick and Devada looked down, the slender woman widened her eyes so that when the light slowly dimmed, her eyes could not see properly again. She was crying hysterically asking what had happened to her sense of sight.
“Why can’t my eyes see? Yes, Asmodeus! Come and answer my questions.” The woman didn’t get an answer, but something else happened unexpectedly. A white smoke hit her body and knocked her back unconscious.
Driven by curiosity, Nick and Devada ventured to see what was going on. A sudden shock hit Devada’s eyes. The white smoke that was originally a light turned into the child she always saw. A vengeful glare emanated from the little bead.
“A morte é o seu destino!” The demon said in a childlike voice.
“Dad, she’s going to kill us!”
“Who?”
“Just look ahead!”
“Who?” Nick was surprised, because all he saw was a white mist highlighted by the moon.
“She’s the little girl who always terrorizes me, Dad!” Dev explained.
“Pronto para morrer?” Dev feels her heart rate weaken. The smell of death permeated every letter that came out of the torn mouth in front of her. The closer she got, the angry figure showed her true face more and more. The figure’s eyes widened red, then rolled right at Dev’s feet.
“Shit!” Dev who jumped up quickly stepped on the moving eyeball while Nick made a confused expression.
“Ah!” Dev again raises her head with chest heaving. She saw the creature’s skin peeling off with blood splattered in the mouth.
“No!” Devada shouted while pushing Nick when the little demon was about to attack Nick with its long tongue sticking out.
As a result, Nick fell into a corner in a muddy puddle. Dev? The girl became a substitute bait for her father. That disgusting tongue wrapped around Devada’s neck very tightly. Slowly, Devada felt her body go limp due to the failure of oxygen to operate in the respiratory tract. However, she was trying to break free even though her strength was running low. Using her two hands, she finally managed to sever the powerful tongue. The astral creature screamed in anger, then launched an even more aggressive attack by wrapping Devada’s body using a bag of mucus that spewed from her mouth. Seeing that, Nick rushed up from the mud pool and approached Dev, but a creature he couldn’t see prevented him from getting close.
“Deva!” Nick screamed before he finally lost consciousness because the snake venom that entered was too late to handle.
The creature from another world then approached Devada and swung its black pointed nails. As it was going on, another force came to dispel it. Knowing the opportunity, Dev quickly tore the mucus sac which made her breathing even more difficult. Dev almost vomits seeing the remnants of that reddish slime stuck to her body. However, it was no more astonishing than what was happening in front of her.
“Oh, God! Again?” she muttered. A dragon covered in fire came to fight the little demon. Good chance for Dev to save herself. She carried her father, then tied him together with Masma and Masma’s group in a carriage carrying wood that she found in a pile of trees. After that, she dashed off using magic.

“Dad, you have to hold on!” Dev pressed on Nick’s chest which was beating weakly. Dev closed her eyes, trying to give her energy into Nick. Many times, although in the end the bitterness is obtained. However, just as despair set in, she saw movement in Nick’s eyes. A smile was engraved.
“Am I dead?” The opening sentence is quite annoying for Dev.
“You will always live long. Sorry, I am not a good child. I failed to save mother and I failed to protect you,” said Dev in a hoarse voice that sounded very sad.
“No, Dev. You’re my greatest child. I’m proud to have you. You’re a very strong fighter. You’ve been through a lot since childhood. Even at this age, you have to give up your identity as a man. I’m sorry that circumstances turned you into a girl. Devada. I’m sorry.” Nick spoke his heart. The heart that contained regret and regret welled up clearly in his tired eyes.
“Yes, I understand. It’s all over, isn’t it?”
“Dev, please take care of mommy and Elfara for me. Give them my apologies. Tell your mommy that I didn’t mean to break the promise I made.” Nick said with a sigh that sounded so hard and slowly closed eyelids.
“Dad?” Devada screamed and pressed harder against her father’s chest again.
“Daddy!” She gave up with a face filled with tears.
Devada put Nick’s body next to Masma’s body. In that empty space, she was swept away in a throbbing deep wound. The wounds etched into the skin of the two were a sprinkling of thorns at every touch. She didn’t expect to lose them at the same time. The dream of getting to know Masma, exchanging stories, and gathering together with her father, is now just a lost hope in a cloud. The dream of having a complete family was forced to be buried with their bodies.
Devada tread heavily left a pair of tombs in a fine cemetery in Lago Sul.
She did not announce to the world. Jess and Elfara were the reason. She had to quickly find Elfara and meet Jess. However, before doing that, she had to take care of what was supposed to be done soon.
“Congratulations. Finally, the traitor moved to hell.” Devada cast a ghastly look at the figure behind the bars who had been in the house for a long time. Her heels moved forward, reaching the boundary of the gaping iron bars. The blind woman smiled.
“How could there be a group of humans as disgusting as you? You killed all men after taking their sperm for your eternal strength and beauty?” The blind woman was dumbfounded. However, she was no longer surprised, because she knew who Devada really was before the detection magic disappeared from within her.
“What do you know about us?” The woman was gloomy.
“Discrimination, harassment, and all that suffering should be the trigger so that you can become good women. Revenge and ambition that is too high turns you into a member of a satanic cult.”
“You’re too presumptuous to tell me that!”
“Be aware! You kill a lot of people and baby boys for your lust.”
“And I should have killed Masma and your father in the first place. Your birth has brought about the disaster that our ancestors said. You should have disappeared from the face of this earth!”
“It’s happened! Your master and the others are dead. Only the three of you are left without beauty and strength. In fact, Asmodeus whom you are God has abandoned you.”
“Fuck you!”
“Don’t scream in front of me because I should be the one who should be angry! Listen carefully to your two friends! They are crazy when they see the changes that have happened to them.” Devada suppressed the sentence.
“What do you mean?”
“If you can’t see with your eyes, you can feel the changes with your hands, can’t you?” The woman immediately brought her palm to her face. The fingers that were originally calm then trembled. Screams were shrill among the pile of shock that existed. Devada doesn’t care about all that. She lifted her feet, leaving behind three beautiful women who had turned into ugly old women.
