Book:BROKEN : Satanic Verses Published:2024-5-1

Devada scanned the surroundings, she just realized that the darkness had increased many times over. The shrieks of the devil like a chant are echoing, clawing at the black expanse that covers the earth. The invisible colonies melted under the moonlight. The whistling of the wind brings ripples of negative energy to the eardrums. Occasional hiss of Yacumama bit the atmosphere. The demonic power reached the peak. Two pairs of eyes suddenly filled with disbelief.
“Mother!” Devada’s scream startled the creature that lay on the forest bark. Yacumama is no exception. The giant creature turned its head to look for the source of the sound.
“Dev! Stupid kid! Argh!” Nick couldn’t help, but curse through the pain. Water the size of a corn kernel escaped from Devada’s eyelids. The turmoil seemed to be deafening her from a series of harsh words from Nick. Supporting the body, she ran to the altar where Masma was trapped in the middle of a star symbol made of fire. The narrow opportunity she took when the snake-shaped monster was nowhere to be seen.
“Mother!” Devada removed anything that was blocking her movement, but fate could not be prevented. Yacumama appeared as the eroded distance drew closer. The huge head of the snake immediately stopped Devada’s steps.
“Oh, fuck!” Devada’s motor nerves that suddenly weakened made her unable to escape from the tail of the terrible creature, while Masma’s condition there was already very heart-rending.
“Nick!” The name repeatedly buzzed in Devada’s ears even though Masma called it softly from the heart. Dev mustered all her strength to free herself from the thick, scaly tail that was squeezing her bones even more. Devada’s big red eyes bulged from holding back the fangs that dragged her into the snake’s rotten mouth.
“Let go of me, Ugly!” The girl’s jolt was accompanied by a moan that slowly faded away. Yacumama managed to brutally swallow part of Devada’s body. Darkness and pain came at the same time. However, she could still feel her body slump.
“I am not in that damn beast’s stomach!” Devada mumbled after gathering consciousness. She wiped the strange liquid off her face, then looked around. The shock hit her head again, because the horned creature launched a fierce look. Not to her, but to ….
“Daddy!” Devada shouted at the man who was standing tall before the enemy. He is Nick Erhan who with only a small sickle, he can distract Yacumama.
“Dev, hurry and save your mother!” Nick exclaimed as he returned Yacumama’s fierce gaze. Without delay, Devada nodded and ran as fast as she could. In the remaining energy, Devada felt a sting in the wind. The swing of her legs slowed as the monster’s angry hiss flowed in her ears. Instantly, her chest became narrow. She was about to turn her head, but suddenly Nick’s voice seemed to stop her. “No matter what, don’t look back! Straighten your eyes and save your mother!” Furthermore, only screams of pain could be heard.
“Daddy!” The girl froze in confusion. Suddenly, her brain shrinks. How could she let her father face the god of death alone? Moreover, Nick’s condition is not fine. She had just remembered about her father’s hand being bitten by a snake. However, on the other hand, Masma needs help. If it was too late, she couldn’t imagine what would happen to Masma when those humans committed crimes that she couldn’t understand. If that happened, she wouldn’t be able to forgive herself.
Devada hesitated, she reaffirmed her eyes on Masma. A few seconds of time passed, the logic was running again. Her heels moved forward in line with her thoughts. However, the scream that bounced back from behind her back again made her a dilemma. The screams that echoed each other were finally able to move the head that was originally submissive in a wavering embrace. The girl turned her head, obeying her conscience. She looked at Nick with a heated corner of her heart while the man over there threw a blank look in any direction. Devada held back the puddle that almost fell from the corner of her eye. A sigh was heard accompanying the pace of the slowly moving feet away from Nick. Next, with a bit of truth back gathered, Dev sped off.
“Where are you going?” A tan-skinned girl suddenly stopped Devada. However, she was not indifferent. Just a quick glance, then back running.
“Do you want to save the dissident?”
“Get out of the way!”
“You can’t! You have to get past me first.” The girl who looked younger than Devada spoke the words silently after shoving her shoulder roughly. As if knowing what the girl was going to do, Devada swiftly grabbed her hand and twisted it in such a way.
“You’re pretty good too. You have enough strength in your injured state.” The Asian-looking girl showed the creases on her smooth face with a slightly bent body.
“Get out of my sight or I’ll eliminate you!” threatened Devada.
“It’s not that easy to get rid of me. You’re just a presumptuous woman who acted stupidly just to save a traitor in our land.” The girl in front of Devada said, then showed off her abilities. Devada, who was not ready to face the attack, bounced off the pile of coconut trees. Red liquid immediately spouted from the mouth. The girl who always wore boy clothes coughed with a suffocating rhythm of breath.
She got up. Forcing the heels of her weak feet to support her limp body. However, again the girl who is one of the group of dragon tattooed demons launched a magical attack. As a result, she was back on her knees with more red bursts. In her dim vision, Dev could still see the girl in the white clothe two meters away swinging her steps with a triumphant arch of lips.
“Come on, get up and get rid of me!”
“I have no business with you, Satan! So get out of my sight!” Devada said emphatically. The drop of blood flowing from her nostril gently wiped away.
“It’s all been my business since you and that man came in here without permission. In fact, it’s even presumptuous to kidnap our offerings. Go, before I change my mind! You have no idea what danger you will face if you oppose me. Look, the man who came with you! He won’t live in Yacumama’s hands!” The last sentence said by the little eyed girl suddenly turned Devada’s gaze to Nick. In one blink, the heat returned to her sense of sight. However, she again made up her mind to keep going.
“You stubborn bastard! You won’t be able to save any of them. Everyone will die, including you!” The girl again rewarded Devada with continuous spear strikes. However, Devada was always able to dodge. A fierce battle that is just stalling for time. Disgusted, Devada ends up resorting to the sly ways of a loser. She removed the all-white clothes that wrapped the girl’s body when she was off guard.
“What are you doing?” Devada just smirked and rushed to leave the demon girl who was busy looking for something to cover her innocent chest again.
“Mother!” Devada screamed when she heard Masma’s shrill shriek. She forced herself to run as hard as she could. One more step towards the altar full of star symbols, suddenly ….
