“Jessy!” call Nick. He breathed a sigh of relief to see his wife was still in the same place. That means, the woman who almost killed him just now wasn’t Jess.
Without thinking, Nick hurried back down to the banquet hall. Empty. The woman was no longer there. In fact, the blood stains that littered the floor were not visible. The floor looks dry and clean. Nick turned on all the lights, and searched the entire room to the outside of the house. However, he saw no one. There was only fog in the lights. Nick reentered the house with a frantic mind. He rubbed his face with his palm. There was no blood that had run down his nose. Nick directed himself to the mirror in the room, there was not the slightest wound on his forehead.
“Why does everything seem so confusing? Have I gone mad?”
In the morning, Nick prepares breakfast for Jess. His wife’s favorite menus were served on the table. He had put an apron on his wife gently. The woman chewed slowly the food that Nick poured onto her plate, like an unappetizing person.
“Honey, would you like to try something else? Which one do you want?” Nick offered, but Jess shook her head weakly without a sound. Nick didn’t understand, his wife hadn’t made a sound since she woke up. Just nod, and shake her head, and even then if asked.
“Okay!” The man could only watch, as he took a bite of the frances pao he had mixed with the mozzarella cheese.
Footsteps suddenly sounded between the clinking of the spoons clashing. If he listens carefully, there is more than one person walking towards their dining room. Nick turned his eyes towards the source of the sound, then he said to Jess, “Wait here, Honey! I will see who dares to enter without my permission!” Just as Nick lifted his ass, two men in police uniforms came with friendly smiles.
“Good morning, Mr. Erhan!” said who is the one of them.
“Are all policemen the same as Ezhar? Unethical, and shameless!” sneered Nick. He walked over to them.
“Sorry, if we disturbed your breakfast! We couldn’t have entered without the landlord’s permission,” Nick checked his phone. It turned out to be true. The door opened because the agree button was accidentally activated.
“What’s up?” asked Nick coldly.
“We are tasked with making the arrests of your wife, Jessyca Amora Erhan on charges of mistreatment of general Jacob Alfonso, and Ibama officer, Rexford Duarte. Jessyca Amora is also suspected of being the mastermind of the violence that befell the young couple, former doctor Joana.” The officer explained while handing over a warrant.
Nick’s lips pressed together, his memory instantly drifted to the figure of the general who was once close to him. What had Jess done to Jacob? Hearing officers mention Ibama, not long ago his poor wife admitted that she had given up her body for the sake of a husband who turned out to be a traitor. Tears rolled down suddenly, Nick looked at his wife, who was currently still relaxed with her food. The guilt came back.
“Can’t you see my wife is eating? She had just recovered from illness. In fact, you can see her face is still pale!”
“Sorry, we were just carrying out orders. We ask for your cooperation!” The officers asked. They led Jess gently to the police car.
“Wait! Can’t you just postpone it until my wife is really in good shape?”
“We think Mrs. Jessyca is in good condition,” the police said. Nick fell silent, looking at Jess who looked calm and didn’t react. The woman got into the car herself without a guide.
“Jessy, you calm down. I will try to defend you.” Nick said through the half-opened car window. The woman just glanced at him with a faint smile, then straightened her face again.
Nick hit the air in annoyance. He couldn’t understand more, and more, why Jess could be so calm with what had happened to herself. Jess’ silence left a big question mark for him to solve. Nick walked quickly into the house. The flat object lying on the bedroom table was grabbed roughly. He dialed a contact.
“Prepare the best lawyer!” The smartphone then just floated to the wall.
“Are you still mad at me, Jess? Is your silence a sign that you’ve given up? I’m sorry, I’m really useless.”

The long awaited day had come, and the expensive, competent attorney Nick had hired had failed to save Jess from punishment, or even lighten her up. The evidence for the crime committed by Jess is very strong. The woman who looked very good was sentenced to a very long prison sentence. Jess’ sadistic soul shakes the mentality of the victim’s family, Rexford Duarte, and Veronica’s family.
It is even known that the case made Veronica’s son suffer from severe psychological problems because of the bullying he experienced in the surrounding environment. The poor child finally committed suicide by surrendering his body to a speeding truck.
“I wish I had listened to you, Jess. You won’t be able to experience all of this. I’m the one who made you like that. I am the one who deserves that punishment.” Nick expressed his regret at the mute objects that filled one of the rooms in his house.
“If you were more concerned with your wife’s feelings than your community’s reputation, you wouldn’t have committed a betrayal that would lead to disaster. If you are more concerned with vigilance than lust, a snare of disappointment will not become a lethal weapon. Nobody is perfect. Sweet, or bitter the future, isn’t it according to what we sow? If you want a sweet ending, why plant poison?” Nick was silent a thousand languages, diving into the strings of phrases that suddenly flowed in his ears. The man was not at all surprised by the tone of that voice. If he didn’t recognize it, it was certain that there would be bloodshed in the modernist building.
Nick turned around, staring intently at the person in front of him. His instincts could spell out the cluster of wounds buried in the light brown bead. The line of his lips curved in a wistful way. Nick sighed, taming the rage that was running wild.
“You are right! I’m a stupid brained man. In fact, my life is legal to be obliterated. However, don’t think that I regret your existence. Whatever the reason for your birth, I love you very much. Are you thinking of leaving me?”
“If possible, I want to leave all my life here. Choose a world that will treat me like a human. However, isn’t the world like that? Just a stopover that provides lots of games that have their own levels. I really want to leave all these games, but your blood flowing in my body always binds my will.”
“I hope that you will forgive me, Dev!”
“I only want one thing right now.” A girl clad in a boy’s attire revealed.
“You can tell me, Dev.”
“Take me to my mother!” Nick flinched at his child’s request.
