“Your daughter, last time working at Jeda Group. Just one day, then the company lost the her news.” Casio said. Without responding, Nick started the Combat Motor, leaving Casio alone in the yard. The ridden Wraith roared along the pitch black asphalt. Nick knew where he was going at this point.
Arriving at the green brown building, Asa Sul, Nick stopped his favorite motorcycle. There was a woman who saw Nick like a ghost. In fact, the woman who was still wearing her nightgown rubbed her eyes many times. Convince herself that what she saw is not wrong.
“Nick! Am I not seeing it wrong?” The woman who had her hair tied up rushed to pat Nick on both cheeks.
“Yes, as you can see, Joan!” pressed Nick as he lowered the small hand that touched his cheek. He didn’t like having another woman’s hand touch him.
“Come in!” take Joan. While Nick sat on the couch, Joan went to get a drink. Only five minutes later, the woman returned with two cups of creamy latte.
“When are you free?” Joan asked as she put the cups on the table.
“Recently. I’m here on an errand.”
“Say it!”
“Does my daughter work to you?” Folding her forehead, Joan looked for a comfortable sitting position, then she replied, “Yes!”
“Where is she?” Worry emerged from Joan’s face. Nick’s question was so simple, but it had a very complex answer. Joan’s fingers twisted the corners of the sofa cushions. Until Nick repeated the question, her brain was still busy stringing words together. Panic increased as Nick’s facial lines grew darker. The woman would not have guessed what would happen if the man she had known for a long time lost his temper.
“Nick … Elfara did work to me, but suddenly I just lost the news.” Joan answered timidly.
“What do you mean? My children are in danger, and you must take responsibility!” The cup rolled, spilling all its contents, when suddenly Nick’s voice rose to the highest octave. Anger makes Nick almost kill a woman. Joan coughed as Nick’s big hand was removed from her neck. Silent, Joan still neutralized her breath with tears still welling up.
“What do you mean? I’ve been looking for Elfara everywhere. And just so you know, I’ve been trying to meet you. I’ve spent a lot of time, and effort, but it’s all in vain.” Nick is frustrated, only a roar comes out of his mouth.
“I do not know what happened!” Again, Joan said. This time she showed some photos, and a recording of the condition of the house.
“What happened?” A girl came to interrupt their conversation. They looked up in unison.
“Devada!” Joan gasped.
“Why did you come here? Em, I mean … do you need anything?”
“No, Ant. I just want to pick up what I left behind!”
“Oh, okay!”
“Excuse me!” The girl looked at Nick deeply, then walked away.
“I’ll see you again!” Nick decided to leave.
While Joan was on the verge of confusion, Devada felt a throbbing heat run through her body. Her coming here was not without purpose. It was Nick’s presence in the old house that made her decide to follow. Some time ago, she came to the old house because she wanted to take the Bulldog.
Who would have thought, she would see Nick acting as if the man was her family. The shadow that Nick saw in the old house was Devada. And now she was surprised by the fact that the man named Nick was her father. Elfara’s father means her father too, right? Devada looked at her reflection in the mirror, there were many similarities between them. Of course, when she was physically still a man.
“Devada, why do you look restless?” Joana’s voice was heard suddenly.
“It doesn’t matter! Has the man left?” asked Devada.
“Yeah, just now. Today I took a day off. Come with me yoga, yes!” Joana asked.
“Yoga, what is that?” Joana smiled, seeing Devada’s innocence. The girl was like a newborn baby.
“Yoga is a sport!” Joan explained.
“Can not! I am very sleepy. If it’s allowed, I’ll take a nap.” The girl plopped down on the sofa. It’s not that she don’t want to fulfill Joana’s invitation. It’s just that she’s not in the mood. In fact, yoga is quite interesting. She wanted to know more about everything. However, now is not the right time.
“Okay, I won’t force you. Just close the door!” Joana said, then left the room Devada was in.
The girl quickly closed the door, and plopped down on the bed. Closing the eyelids, trying to get rid of everything that is in the brain. Until leaving a shadow of herself as well as all the details of the room. Nevertheless, she instilled good suggestions in herself. A few moments passed, Devada’s eyelids opened. She felt her body lighten up. Standing up to get a drink, she was surprised. She had to see her body still lying with her eyes closed. In fact, right now she was standing with full awareness.
“I? There are two? Impossible!” Devada gaped.
Is this what is called astral projection? Or is this just a dream or a hallucination? To confirm this phenomenon, Devada decided to return to the body. Repeat it up to four times. All produce the same event. Where she felt her body lighten up, and miraculously, the spirit separated from the body. Possessing an unexpected advantage, she uses the opportunity to find a way out of the thorns of the problem at hand.
The first step taken was to return to Lago Sul. At least it was safer there since there was no one else but her. There, she decides to go to Nick’s house. No need to be troubled by looking for an address, they both seem to have a special sign that is connected to each other. Devada has extraordinary sensitivity. The girl just needed to meditate, and imagine her meeting with Nick. And miraculously, she was where she wanted to be.
“I can help you find out who is behind the case that happened to you. Also … looking for your child’s whereabouts!” Nick turned his back when he realized Devada was talking to him.
“You? Aren’t you the girl in Joana’s apartment?” Devada nodded expressionlessly. Ignoring the shock received by Nick.
“How did you know my private house? Are you following me?” asked Nick with a straight face.
“You don’t need to know how I know. What is clear, your accusation is wrong!” Devada turned her gaze to the flickering lights reflecting off the swimming pool.
“Okay! What relationship do you have with Joana? You seem to know a lot about me.”
“I have nothing to do with her. She’s just a person who is meritorious for saving my life. Everything I know about you has absolutely nothing to do with doctor Joana,” explained Devada.
“Should I trust a little girl like you?” Nick’s crooked smile stretched.
“You’d better not underestimate me, Mr. Nick!”
“Then?” Nick’s question was full of ridicule.
“Just give me the necessary data!”
“Why should I trust a stranger like you? It could be, you are the mastermind behind the destruction of my family.” Devada hides her annoyance by bowing her head. However, she couldn’t blame Nick. The man was right. It’s not easy to trust someone after experiencing deception and betrayal. Especially to strangers. Devada would have done the same if all that happened to her. She had to use another way.
“My name is Devada. Don’t you remember Elfara after you saw my face?” Devada’s silly question suddenly made Nick look closely at the little girl he was talking to. Unknowingly, his fingers landed softly on Devada’s cheeks. Sadness suddenly appeared behind Nick’s brown irises.
“Elfara … there is a resemblance, but I feel you are like my son!” Without being prevented, tears rolled down from Devada’s eyes. For some reason, Nick’s words touched her heart. Even though she didn’t live under a father’s care, she felt that Nick loved her. Just as the man loved Elfara. Devada wanted to hug Nick, but the man had hugged her first.
“Nick ….” Someone’s voice suddenly stopped their dramatic action.
