Satisfied with what he did, he turned around and left the room, ignoring the guards who went back to bowing to him. He made sure he was out of sight of everyone, by going to the back of the palace.
‘I can’t wait to see the drama that is about to unfold.’ he thought as he disappeared.
___
Raziah ran until she got to one of the small werewolf villages in her kingdom and stopped running. She noticed the fearful stares she was receiving and ignored them, her mind going back to what Dark had said to her a few minutes ago.
She didn’t enjoy it when her father raped her she had fought back and won against him later on so how could Dark say such a thing to her knowing how sensitive it is.
Raziah thought to herself as she walked aimlessly around the village. The people hurrying out of her way and some hiding inside their houses once they sight her but that didn’t stop her from pacing around the village.
Why will Dark make mockery of what she told him? About her past? About her evil father?
She wanted to burn something, don’t know what but the feeling of burning something was strong but she was able to control herself.
She halts in her movement and sits down on the bare floor, then closes her eyes and concentrates on going to meet her Wolf. Ever since their last argument Violet has been keeping malice with her.
‘Violet, you’ve been quiet since, what happened? If it is because of our last argument then I am sorry okay. I still hate Dark though, you heard what he said to me.’ Raziah told her wolf who didn’t even raise her head to look at her.
‘I heard everything Raziah but there is something more important that I have been dealing with since. I have been having some flashbacks ever since our argument.’
‘Really? What flashbacks?’
Violet raised her head to look at her.
‘My past life, our past life.’
‘I don’t understand Violet, what past life are you talking about?’
‘The life we had before we were born, I think… ‘ Violet paused. ‘Quick go home, something is amiss.’
Without a word, Raziah faded away.
Raziah opened her eyes and hurried back home. Whatever her wolf had sense must be very serious. She ran as if she was a Vampire.
Reaching the gate of her palace, she stopped when she saw thick smoke rising towards the sky. Hurrying inside the courtyard, she came to a halt when she noticed where the fire was coming from.
“No, no!” She screamed as she pushed away the guards and servants quenching the fire. There was nothing left of the room, just the debris and smoke coming out from the burnt place. “No,” she said again and something caught her eyes. She entered the burnt room and moved closer to the bed where her dead mother’s body lay and angry tears began to fall out from her eyes. “No!” she screamed out in anger. “Why you?” she asks no one in particular. Her dead mother’s body was still on the bed, but burnt beyond recognition. The only thing the fire didn’t raze down was her bones that lay scattered on the burnt bed.
Going down to her knees and placing her hands on the burnt iron bed, ignoring the pains she felt on her knees and hands by the hotness of the bed and floor and crying out her eyes. It has been a long time since she cried this anguish cry. No pain, not even the ones Dark had inflicted on her, can ever amount to the kind of pain she is feeling right now. Everywhere was quiet except for her cries that went past the walls of the palace.
“How did this happen ? Was it Barwolf who did this?” She asked, getting up on her feet and did not move away from her mother’s bones. If it was Barwolf, hell should get prepared for a new soul joining soon. She will make sure she skin him alive. She will make sure Barwolf rotten-
Her thought got Interrupted by the answer of a guard behind her.
“No my King, it wasn’t Barwolf, no one has seen Barwolf since. It was King Dark.”
Dark?
Whipping around quickly like a wind. “What did you just say now?” she query coming out from the burnt room to stand before the guards and servants.
“Yes my King,” another guard said, supporting the first guard. “We saw King Dark going inside and staying in for about two minutes then he came out and walked away. Then the stench of fire burning reached our nose and we tried to put out the fire but it was beyond our power my King, the fire was increasing rapidly. We are sorry my King.” he explained what happened.
“So none of you thought about saving my mother first before trying to put out the fire?” Raziah asked. The feeling of burning something washed over her again as she growled in anger. Her face slowly peels away.
“Our mind wasn’t there, my King.” A guard answered and his head burst, spilling blood everywhere as screams erupted from them.
“Your mind didn’t go there and you call yourselves wolves?” She said her eyes were sparkling like thunder. In a blink of an eye, every guard and servant standing in front of her fell down to the floor, their skins white as no single blood was seen. No one needed to check them twice to know they were dead. Cold and dead.
Climbing over their dead bodies, she heads towards her room to get the knife Elena had given her. Her skin continued to fall off.
Every, guards and servants all ran away from her and went to hide as she approached her room. Kicking the door off their edges, she went under her bed and brought out the knife and looked at it then removed it from its sheath.
“Thank you you Elena for this. I will make sure I put this to good use.” she muttered darkly and left her room and went back to stand in front of the burnt house and waited for Dark to come. She knew he would come back to taunt her but this time around, she won’t be holding back. The anger in her cannot be quenched except killing the one who had done this to her mother.
Closing her eyes to connect with her wolf.
‘Raziah, don’t let the power control you. I told you I have been remembering-‘ Violet stopped talking when Raziah reached out to her cell and with one tug, removed the iron bar (yett) that had caged Violet. ‘Raziah keep calm, don’t let your anger ruin things.’
‘Like he did with my mother?’ Raziah said and without waiting for Violet answer, she grabbed hold of the chains binding her wolf and just like she did with the iron bars ( yett) she broke the chains binding Violet other three hind legs and placed her left hand on her wolf forehead.
Violet eyes went inside and when it returned, it wasn’t the violet eyes that were staring back at Raziah, but eyes as black as night.
Without speaking, Violet rose up to her feet and growled out loudly and entered the body in front of her.
Raziah opened her eyes and clenched the knife tightly.
___
Dark has been feeling sorry for saying those things to Raziah. He didn’t know when the words came out from his mouth. He was up, up above the clouds, his black long wings out as he was pacing around, the heat of the sun burning him but he didn’t care. At least it reminded him how his words were to Raziah.
“I am so grateful to didn’t even use her dead child on her. ” Dark muttered to himself.
He was thinking hard, what he was going to do to make Raziah see how sorry he had felt.
He had even told her the ‘S’ word.
He stopped when the scent of smoke reached his nose and his forehead furrowed.
‘Where could the fire be coming from?’he thought and following his nose he followed the scent of the smoke.
He was surprised when he saw where the smoke was coming from and hurried downwards, his wings going inside.
Landing at the courtyard of the Palace, he saw the burned down house Raziah mother’s body was in but what shocked him the most was when he saw Raziah.
Her two hands were covered in black mist as she began to change into her wolf.
