HUNTER
“So that’s why you are hiding with us here in the storage room. I found it hard to believe that Seiko had forgotten to bring it up. But I am happy that you are fine and nothing to worry about,” I said as I looked at Mariel, who was now sitting with us.
My sister, Mariel, felt uncomfortable when Trinity hugged her. Since I always tell her that Trinity is brave and that you won’t see her crying about someone, she is aware that Trinity is not the type of person who likes to put on a show and show sympathy.
“I am so sorry that I was not able to give any help that day. To tell you the truth, if I ever had the opportunity to be in the same room as Gideon, I would not hesitate for a second before taking revenge for you by taking his life. But there’s no need to be concerned since I’ve got your back now,” Trinity assured while hugging Mariel.
Mariel just let her do that and didn’t complain. I didn’t know how many times I needed to pray for this blessing I am seeing now. The two important women in my life are hugging each other. I couldn’t possibly ask for anything more, simply the assurance that we would be able to make it through this battle alive.
“So, how are you doing right now? I sincerely apologize for the inappropriate scene that you witnessed just a moment ago. The blend of your brother’s good looks and sizzling sex appeal made it impossible for me to say no. But I must confess that I think it’s good to refer to him as Fido,” Trinity said and tried to lower her voice, but since this room is soundproof, I could still hear it.
When they started laughing at that endearment, all I could do was close my eyes and try not to let my temper show. If the person who came up with that word is still alive, I seriously consider it a possibility that I may kill them. To hell with that word. I am not a Fido! I am too hot for that.
“The devil knows where you are!” Hunter, you need to stop covering your ass! Have you swallowed your balls? Come on, you are more than this!’ a man shouted outside while walking, and I knew who is it.
Mariel and Trinity stopped laughing, and, just like me, their faces became serious when we heard that voice. I have no doubt that it was Filimon who uttered those words. They have begun looking for us, which leads me to believe that the battle has already started.
“Since they are already here, we must prepare for the possibility that they will find us. I have no reason to doubt that you and my brother are both strong individuals, but I am afraid to say that we would not be able to fight back against them, given the current state of your body. What should we do?” Mariel worriedly asked and hugged Trinity’s left arm.
It’s hard for me to decide whether I should be grateful that the room we are currently hiding is hard to find or anxious about the serious challenge that the organization is now experiencing. Fuck! I should be on the front lines helping to fight, but instead, I’m hiding like a coward, a complete idiot.
“Mariel, being strong is about more than simply being physically fit; it also needs mental toughness. It goes far deeper than that. One of the aspects of having power is having a knowledgeable mind and being able to think critically in tough circumstances, such as the one we are in right now. There is no need for worry on your part because I am confident that your brother and I will be able to complete that mission. You are safe in our hands,” Trinity explained while trying to comfort her.
After that, there is a suffocating silence that falls over us. Although I am aware that Trinity is still anxious, she does not show to be so in making sure that Mariel will not get scared. But if I’m being frank, there was nothing I could do. It seems logical to place our trust in Seiko’s thinking in this situation. I hope that there won’t be any major problems.
“D-Did you hear it? I just heard a cracking sound in this room. I-Is that for real?” Mariel suddenly spoke, and that caught our attention.
She was right; shortly after that, another cracking sound was heard. After that, I suddenly recalled something that was in this room. I was in a hurry, so I hurried to the large picture frame and glanced at it. Trinity and Mariel came to check, but they didn’t appear to grasp the situation and had no idea what was happening.
“What’s wrong, Hunter? What’s with this frame?” Trinity asked.
I chose not to respond and waited quietly for a few seconds before continuing. Someone will most definitely push it; I just know it. Come on. Which side do you stand on? Friend or foe? Fuck! What are the reasons that someone is familiar with this passage? As far as I remember, Benedic and I are the only ones aware of this.
“Dang it!” I yelled when the frame fell down.
Mariel and Trinity take a step back while waiting to see what the following action will be. When someone came from the hole, my heart was pumping through my body rapidly, and I came badly close to almost losing my breath. While I wait for the person who has just entered the room, I take a few steps back and move closer to Mariel and Trinity. Because they were wearing a helmet, I couldn’t figure out if we were safe or not.
“W-Who are you? Please, don’t kill me,” Mariel begged and held to my arm much tighter.
As soon as she stood up and I could see her entire body, I could confirm that she was a woman. Trinity was ready to hit the woman when I interrupted her and stopped her. She had spotted it and was gripping it more firmly onto the chair she was holding. I don’t know what’s going on, but I have a gut feeling about seeing this woman in front of me. I may know her.
“Hey, wait. Don’t hit first because I probably know who she is. Take that silly mask off, lady, and give us a look at your face. Do it,” I ordered, and she slowly put her hands on the helmet.
As she gently removed the helmet, I didn’t know, but my heart beat faster every second. After that, she drops to her hands and takes the cover off her head completely. When I finally saw her face, it made me grin. At long last, a colleague who was unquestionably in a position to help us had arrived.
‘M-Melissa?” Trinity asked and couldn’t believe what she was seeing.
