HUNTER
As soon as I saw Trinity walk into the room, my eyes widened, and my heart beat much faster than usual. She had a bandage on her right arm and bruises all over her body, yet neither of those things bothered me in the least. The fact that she is present is the most important thing. The woman I love is now here.
“T-Trinity…” I whispered, and she immediately smiled at me.
When she eventually put her hand on my palm, I couldn’t have asked for anything more since I could feel the peace that flowed from her smile. I have no idea how many times I have prayed for her protection, but look at us now: she’s the one hugging me. Fuck!
“I’m delighted to see that you didn’t get hurt, Hunter. I had planned to save you, but unfortunately, I could not do so. I am sorry that I was not by your side when you needed my help. Sorry,” she said while hugging me.
I just hugged her back and didn’t complain at all. The fact that she is now in this room with me gives me the highest possible comfort. The days that had passed didn’t matter for now. A meaningful love from her will stop me from worrying.
“I’m sorry to cut you both off in the middle of what you’re doing, but I think we might be in trouble right now. It seems to me that they are getting ready to chase us, so we had better prepare for it. Suppose the majority of our allies are uninformed of the situation. In that case, they will eventually be able to pinpoint our location, and we will be defeated,” Seiko explained, which stopped our hug.
When I saw Trinity, I almost forgot about the trouble that we are experiencing at the moment. But Seiko is right; we need to start preparing ahead because I do not doubt that they will come after us. Trespassing will be found to have been committed because Dylan and Seiko entered their property without prior notice, as required by the organization’s rules. But they had no grounds to criticize us because Filimon had already broken the rule. They took Trinity without saying anything to us.
“Dylan, with respect to the honor, please call a representative in each division. We need to carry out a plan. Also, if you could phone the closest allied organization to us, that would be greatly appreciated. Given that we are not the ones who started this fight, I do not doubt that they will be on our side. Move,” I ordered him, which he immediately followed without complaining.
Trinity’s face was concerned, but all I did was smile at her. I could feel her anxiety. Since she went through traumatic experiences there, she has no reason to blame herself for what happened to us. She is not the troublemaker but rather the innocent victim in this fight. Filimon is the one who needs to be blamed.
“I hate to be the one to tell you this, Hunter, but I think you should simply lay low and let us take care of this problem. You are not in a condition to engage in combat at this time. They may also use you as a threat against us, leading us to lose this fight. Do you understand what I’m getting at?” Seiko asked me which made me startled for a second.
What the living hell is going on? Is he even trying to be serious? When I tell him that I am mindful that our organization is in danger, does he seriously suggest that I should just rest? Seiko must be kidding. As if he were unaware of the way that I think.
“Are you sure I will pay attention to what you say? Seriously, Seiko? Why don’t you trust that I can get the job done? When I know that the organization I am managing is at risk, I am not a coward who should hide away in a secure location because it is within me! What the hell! Why do I even continue to stay in this bed? I’m sick of this!’ I yelled, trying to burst my outrage.
It was hard for me to accept the fact that he still considered me to be feeble and incapable of putting up a fight. Fuck him for having the audacity to believe that I’m not ready. I had the feeling that we were both in the same boat about this problem, but I guess I was wrong. Fuck! When did they realize I was willing to fight for this organization even if it cost me my life?
“Fuck!” I shouted and threw the vase near the bed.
Trinity came to give me a hug and work on calming me down. Trinity’s hold prevents me from punching Seiko at the moment, despite the fact that I have a burning urge to do so. She knows I am upset, but she and the others could not do anything about it. Fuck! This makes me feel much more useless than I already did.
“Hunter, you and I both know that he is only concerned about you in this situation. It hurts me to admit it, but Seiko has a point. Given that you are not in a good state and that Filimon is aware of this, it is your best decision to hide and get some rest,” Trinity explained.
Even though what she said made me quite upset, I tried to grasp what they were trying to convey. I took a good look at myself in the mirror, and although it pains me to say it, they were right. I am not the terrifying Hunter who will send anyone into a panic because of me. I am completely useless right now.
“Hunter, I am not insulting you. It is the wisest thing to do at this time. If you truly care about the organization, you will act in the style I suggested. You are not responsible for this battle. You would be making a mistake seeking revenge right now. Let us be the ones to get back at Trinity for what they did to us. I swear to do all in my power to maintain the safety of this organization,” Seiko added.
I signaled Trinity by tapping her hand that she was mindful of what I was trying to say. I took a seat on the bed and turned around to face Seiko. Because he has never let me down in the past, I will continue to put my trust in him now. Indeed, he was correct. I was in no condition to fight just now. If I continue to be upset and insist on getting what I want, I will merely serve as a significant barrier for them.
“You are in full control of the situation and can act in whatever way you see fit to protect the organization. Where would you recommend, I go to hide?” I asked him, which made Seiko grin.
He leaned in closer to me and said something into my ear. Because I knew what he wanted to take place, I simply gave him a knowing nod. Then, to support me while standing, I took Trinity’s hand. Because of what I did, she appeared to be taken aback, as though she had not been expecting this.
“What exactly is going on with you? I am not the only one who will hide. Let’s get moving, and it’s time to leave this place. Since I can sense that they are going to come any second now, we have to move quickly,” I exclaimed, but when I tried to walk, she let my hand go down.
“W-Why would I hide? Seiko, I thought we would get revenge from Filimon for taking me. W-What happened? Why would I hide now? I don’t understand,” she said confusingly.
Trinity could not understand what was happening, but when we heard a gunshot from below, I grabbed her hands and ran out as quickly as possible. I am confident in Seiko’s ability to handle everything in my absence since I trust him. The only thing I can do is cross my fingers and hope that everything will be alright once I recover all of my strength.
