Slade Donovan POV
“I am telling the king!” Luciana said for the umpteenth time after Gabriella was dragged out of the room.
“No one is telling the king,” I answered back.
“She hit you on the face. She is not Bianca Slade!” No one needs to remind me about that. “She is playing with your emotions because she has the same face as Her.”
I heaved a sigh but didn’t say anything. I wasn’t surprised when Gabriella slapped me on the face because she had done it before but the shocking thing was that her head was Bleeding. When I asked that she should be moved from her previous room, I never asked that she should be treated to the extent of bleeding from the head.
“You are not telling the king and that’s is final,” I said to her and walked out of the room in search of Gabriella.
“Slade! This conversation isn’t over!” Luciana shouted after me but I didn’t turn back neither did I reply to her. I was going to look for Gabriella and see for myself if she was fine or not.
Why do I care? It was the stupid bond messing up with my head and my emotions. I thought I could get rid of her by moving her away from me but It backfire on me and I regret ever letting her out of my sight. I took the hallway that lead to Slave quarters when I entered the slave room, I met Rhoda addressing the Girls but Gabriella was nowhere to be found. “Rhoda!” I shouted her name.
“Your highness,” they all bow when they saw me. I didn’t acknowledge them instead I rushed to where Rhoda stood and grabbed her by the throat. The slaves all bow their heads and couldn’t look up at me. I threw Rhoda to the nearest wall and she landed on the ground with a thump.
“When I told her to be in charge of Gabriella, I never said you should hurt her. How dare you lay hands on her?” I shouted and walked closer to where she landed.
“Your highness,” she bow her head and stretched forth haa nd to beg me. “Have mercy your highness! I…” She stuttered because she was lying.
“You must be crazy to think that I’m a fool. I heard your thought the instance I walked into this room. You were thinking about how you’ll kick her and make her suffer! I also heard your thought when you came to my room. How dare you lay hands on what mine!” My voice was loud and powerful. It was as if I wasn’t the one talking again. It’s was as if somebody else had taken over my body. I was acting like this because I saw Gabriella hurt. Whatever was happening to me wasn’t the bond it was something else.
“Your highness!” She bows her head to the ground and cries out loud. “Have mercy your highness. I’m sorry.”
I rushed to her and pulled her up. I held her by the throat and pinned her to the wall. “Where is she!” My voice grew louder and sounded monstrous. I didn’t know what was happening to me or why I sounded that way.
“She…..” She hit my hand as she struggled to speak but I didn’t let her go. “She is with prince Teale!” She shouted.
At the mention of Teale’s name, I removed my hand from her throat like it’s was fire and she dropped to the ground gasping for breath. “The next time you lay hands on Gabriella would be the last time you ever talk. I’ll cut your tongue out.” I threatened and walked out of the room.
I didn’t know why Teale was with her. Although he helped me save her, I still saw him as a threat. A threat that could take what belong to me. I thought of where they could be and I found myself where I knew they might be. Like I’ve thought, they were under the tree I saw them the last time and they were both staring at each other like they wanted to kiss.
Wanted to kiss? Gabriella would never do that to me I believed but sometimes what you never expected always happened. Before their lips could meet, I rushed towards them with my super speed and grabbed Teale’s hand. Like a wind, we disappeared and appeared at the front of the castle. I pushed him towards the pillar that surrounded the Castle. “Slade!” He shouted my name but I was too blinded by what I saw so I blocked the voices around me. I hit his head on the pillar and jumped on top of him. I punched him in the face repeatedly and thrust him in the heart with my claws. “Slade!” Someone’s voice distracted me and when I turned, I was pushed away by my brother. I landed beside Teale who seems weak as his fangs were out and his purple eyes were glowing.
“What did you do?” Kyle helped Teale off the ground. “He is not healing Slade. What did you do to him?”
I couldn’t say anything but just stared at them. Teale was supposed to be healed but he was still bleeding on his chest where I thrust my Claws. “I.. i,” I didn’t even know what to say.
“It’s happening,” Teale said.
“What is happening?” Kyle questioned him.
“The transition,” Teale answered and closed his eye as he groaned in pain. “As long as you are still like this, my wound won’t heal. You need to get Gabriella.” He placed his hand on his bleeding chest and groaned out in pain. “Now!” He shouted.
I stood up from the ground and ran towards the tree Gabriella was sitting under. She was still under the tree and looking around for Teale. When she saw me coming she smiled at me but when I got closer, her smile fades away.
I knew I wasn’t the one she wanted to see. “Come with me,” I grabbed her hand.
“What are you doing? I’m not coming with you.” She struggled against my grip.
“Don’t fight me” I growled. It didn’t sound like it should. It sounded like a werewolf’s.
“Why are your eyes glowing?” She pointed to my eyes with her free hand. “Why are your claws out? What is happening to you?” She shouted.
I looked around us and saw people staring at us. They weren’t just staring but they were also whispering. If words get to the king, Gabriella was going to get hurt and I didn’t want that. “We need to leave and don’t argue with me,” I pulled her hand and dragged her into Teale’s room.
When we got into the room, Teale was on his bed and still bleeding. Kyle was by his side and trying to suppress the bleeding by placing his hands on Teale’s chest. “I bought her with me,” I announced as we walked in.
“Teale!” Gabriella yanked her hand from mine and rushed to Teale’s side. “What did you do to him?” She accused. “What did you do?”
“Calm down Gabriella and listen to me.” Teale struggled to say. “I.. Need you to take Slade’s hand and cal… m,” he paused and coughed out blood.
“Teale!” Gabriella shouted his name and rushed to grab his hand but Teale shouted at her.
“Don’t!” Teale shouted. “You’ll only get him angry.
He was right because I felt like tearing him apart. I hated the way Gabriella shouted his name and if I had my chance, I’ll rip his heart out. ” take his hand and calm him down.”
“Why?” Gabriella questioned.
“Because he needs you to calm down. As long as he is angry, I’ll continue to bleed. ”
“Why?” She asked another question.
“Stop asking questions Gabriella and do as he has told you!” Kyle shouted at her.
Gabriella took a deep breath and walked to me. She closed her eyes and grabbed my hand. As soon as our hands made contact, I felt a soothing sensation. All the anger I felt went back into my mind. My claws went back in and my eyes turned into their normal ocean blue. I grabbed her hand tight and caress it gently. I let out a moan of satisfaction as I was enjoying her touch.
“It worked!” Kyle exclaimed.
Gabriella opened her eyes and removed her hand from mine. As soon as her hand left mine, the soothing feeling disappeared. “Are you okay Teale?” Gabriella asked him and I growled.
“Don’t come close to me,” he warned her.
“Why?”
“Because “Teale pointed to me. “He can’t control his emotions yet.”
“What do you mean?” She asked him.
“Yes. What do you mean?” Kyle also asked.
Teale sat up on his bed and looked at me. I glared at him and he quickly looked away. “Before the king banished my father,” he paused and looked into my eyes. “He…” He cleared his throat and looked at me again.
“Why are you looking at me?” I demanded.
“Because you might not believe what I have to say,” Teale answered back.
“What?”
“My father talked about our descendants to the king but he took it wrong that was why they banished him.” Teale heaved a sigh and looked at Gabriella’s face. “Look, whatever you heard in this room must not be heard outside.”
“Say it!” We all shouted at him.
“Our grandfather Lord got married to a werewolf. ”
“I thought they were extinct?”Gabriella questioned and looked into our faces.
” yeah they were but our grandmother was the only werewolf left. Lord Raylle turned her into a Vampire before anyone could find out so no one ever suspected this.”
“How do you know all of this?” Kyle questioned.
“Our grandmother told our fathers before she died. My Father was the very first werewolf after our grandmother’s death but…..” His expression turned into a sad one. “He lost his wolf side as his vampire side refused to accept the transition.” He paused for a while and stood up from the bed. “When you were born,” he pointed at me. ” Your wolf side showed.”
“Wolf what?” I refused to believe what he said. “What nonsense are you saying?”
“I’m saying the truth.” He retorted.
I grabbed him and pushed him to the wall. “Say it again!”
“Slade!” Gabriella and Kyle shouted my name at the same time.
“You are half wolf and half vampire slade. The..” Teale coughed as he struggled to breathe with my hand on his throat. ” The day you were born, the healing river turned into a different color. It’s was a sign of a new creature. How do you think you have different eyes? How do you think you are so connected to Gabriella? It’s your wolf side Slade.” He explained.
I let go of his throat and held my head. I flashed back to when Bianca and I were still together. The pain I felt when she died was too much for a vampire. I was a werewolf. A werewolf.
“Slade!” Kyle shouted my name. “I need you to calm down and listen. ”
“Calm down!” I growled. “You can’t tell me to calm down Kyle! I’ve spent Two hundred years of my life in lies!” I beat my chest and pointed at Teale. “If he doesn’t know about it, I would have been kept in secret forever!” I shouted.
“We can figure this out!” Kyle tried to talk me out of it.
“Figure!” I growled and my voice sounded loud. “Does the king knows about this?” I questioned Teale.
“Yes. The King and Queen are aware.” He answered.
I gasped and yelled. I ran a hand through my head and before I knew it, I felt a beating in my heart. My heart was unusually beating. “No!” I dropped to the ground and let out a menacing growl.
“Slade,” Gabriella tried to touch me but I moved away from her. “Listen to me. You have to calm down!” She muttered.
“I need you to focus and listen to what I have to say.” I heard her thoughts but I wasn’t in the right mind to do anything. I was lied to my whole life. The bond, the emotions were of my werewolf side. I growled again and kicked the door opened. In a flash, I was gone and heading towards the king’s chamber. I was going to face my past.
