Gabriella Monet POV
After the Vervain incident, Slade avoid me like a plague which didn’t bother me at first but on the third day, I couldn’t help but think about it. I didn’t know why I was thinking about him but I remembered what Bianca told me in my dream about Slade.
“You and Slade share a bond.”
Whatever bond Slade and I shared needed to be broken because I hate his gut and I’m sure he hates mine. Since my master, prince Slade had refused to talk to me. I had been in my room for three days without coming out and when I couldn’t take it anymore on the fourth day, I walked out of the room. Slade’s room was close to mine and as I walked past It, I saw Luciana coming out of the room.
“If it’s not the Vervain girl.” She mocked. “What are you doing here?” She asked.
When I opened my mouth to reply to her, Slade also came out of the room. Our eyes met and I could see the transitioning of his eyes from ocean blue to golden. His eyes held some emotions I couldn’t tell and when it’s seems that the staring competition was wasting my time, I averted my eyes and turned to walk away.
“Where are you going?” Slade finally spoke to me after three days.
I didn’t turn or answer him as I walked away while ignoring his shoutings and Luciana’s. I didn’t want to say anything to him yet because I was angry. I had no idea why I was angry because I saw him with Luciana but I could feel like someone was piercing my heart with a sword and it’s hurt. I blamed the stupid bond.
As I walked through the hallway of the castle, Servants who walked past me pointed at me and whispered among themselves. They were probably talking about the ball night. I still remember that night vividly as it left a trauma I could never forget. I choose to ignore the pointing of fingers and whispering among the servant because I didn’t care.
The hallway was too long and I could not find my way out of the castle. Blame Slade for locking me inside his room after he bought me from the auction house. I didn’t even know what the castle looked like. When I finally saw an end to the hallway I heaved a sigh but there were two ways and I found it confusing. I didn’t know if I should go left or right.
“Take the right way if you are going out of the castle and take the left if you are heading to the King’s chamber.” Someone said behind me and I jumped at the sound of how powerful the voice was.
When I turned to face the person, I felt the urge to punch the person in the face because the person wasn’t a real person I could tell by his pale skin and unique purple eyes that he was a vampire. “Who the hell are you?” I asked like the rude girl I was.
The vampire smiled at me and it made me irritated. “Are you crazy?” I pointed to his head. “Oh sorry for asking you that. I forgot vampires don’t have brains.” I chuckled.
“We do,” he argued and pointed to his head. “Being a vampire doesn’t mean we don’t have brains.”
“Brainless demon sucker,” I muttered but he seems to hear it.
“You say what now?” He asked.
“What do you need from me? Did Slade ask you to call me?”
“You call him without respect, I like that.” He laughed. With how he sounded, I figured he was a vampire of authority. “I’m Teale,” he stretched forth his hand. “I saved you from your dreams.”
I blinked twice and my brain flashed back to when I woke up. He was the same guy that was gulping on blood as if he was drinking water. “I’m sure I look different. When I blood-hungry, I get to lose my sense.” He stated.
“Every vampire loves the smell of blood. I’m sure you are planning how to feed on my blood with that brainless head of yours.”
“Believe me when I say I don’t find your blood appetizing,” his words sounded like an insult to me but I snorted and tried to walk away. “I didn’t mean to sound offensive but anyone with the face of Bianca is a friend of mine.”
“You know Bianca?” I shouted and he covered his ears. “I saw Bianca in my dream.”
“That’s means something. You are the reincarnation of her and I’m sure you both share some kind of connection.” He explained. “Except that you are different.”
I rolled my eyes at him and when his eyes met mine, the corner of his lips lifted in a smile. His smile was beautiful and I found myself smiling back. I didn’t know why I smiled but for some reason, I was comfortable around him. He was a vampire but I was comfortable around him.
“A vampire!” I wanted to scream out loud but I didn’t instead, my smile turned into a frown. “I should probably go.” I turned to leave.
“I can show you around if you want.” He offered but I ignored him. “Wouldn’t you like to hear about Bianca?” I stopped when I heard the name. I wanted, scratch that I needed to find out about Bianca and this Teale guy was my only option to find answers about my past life.
“Tell me what I need to know.”

Slade Donovan POV
Some people never change. After saving that ungrateful slave that I regret ever buying, she stabbed me in the back by pouring vervain in my water. If I was not a royal vampire, the vervain would have burned my skin and it’s won’t heal for days. Instead of apologizing, she acted as if nothing happened. She acted like I didn’t matter. If not for her face, I would have beheaded her the day she poured the vervain into my water.
For three days straight, I made sure I ignored it because seeing her face created a weird emotion inside of me. An emotion I thought I had lost when Bianca died. I don’t love Gabriella but I cared about her and that’s was why I saved her from her death when she run her mouth.
“What are you thinking of?” Luciana questioned as she entered my room.” you’ve locked yourself in your room for three days. Why?” She sat beside me on my bed and grabbed my hand but I detached my hand from hers. “What’s wrong? The King and queen are worried about you so I came to check up on you.” She explained.
“As you can see I am fine Luciana.”
“Is this about the vervain? Should I inform the king?”
“No!” I shouted and stood up from my bed. “Luciana, I need a moment to myself. Please leave.” I pointed to the door.
“What’s is wrong with you?” Luciana shouted. “Ever since that’s Bianca girl arrived, you’ve been acting weird. Even when she pours vervain in your water, you refused to punish her because she has your dead lover’s face.”
“Don’t talk about Bianca like that.”
“Or what? Stop acting all weak because of some human girl. The King will be disappointed once he finds out weak you are when it comes to humans.”
“Don’t talk to me like that,” I warned and pointed to the door. “Leave my room while I’m been nice Luciana.”
Luciana groaned out in frustration before walking out of my room. While waiting for her to leave so I’ll close my door, I saw her talking to someone.
“If it’s not the Vervain girl.” I heard Luciana say. “What are you doing here?” I knew she was talking to Gabriella cause I could smile at her blood and the thought of her bought that weird emotion again. I don’t have a heart but if I had one, it’ll probably be racing like a human heart would when they care for someone. When she saw me, she looked at me and when I tried to read her mind, I couldn’t hear anything. It’s was blank. She stared at me for a while before turning to walk away.
“Where are you going?” I asked her but instead of replying, she walked away. “Gabriella!” I shouted
“What’s a disrespect!” Luciana shouted. “See what I’m saying…” She shouted again and continue to rant but I was in no mood to talk to her. I went back into my room and shut the door on her face.
I was not a bad person but I was good either. If Gabriella thought she was going to keep disobeying him then I was going to make sure I break her until she bow in submission.
