Olivia
It’s Monday already.
Three days after the Halloween event from school. One event that I could only remember was me having sex in the dark with Blake.
I couldn’t believe I did that, in my school! The place where some people were walking past us, unknowingly to them, we were doing some naughty stuff.
I still remembered Karen’s expression when we went back to her, she was grinning at me. Clearly, she knew what we were doing inside but she didn’t say anything. I must look thoroughly fucked. I didn’t want to talk about it knowing I would only be embarrassing myself if I dared brought the topic between us.
I just finished my last class but I wouldn’t be going home with Karen since she got work to do and she had to do it pronto.
I had no training with Javier today. Leaving me no choice but to go to Blake because he already knew my schedule today.
I just walked out of the class until I spotted Josh. “Hey, Josh.”
He turned. “Olivia. How are you doing?”
“Good. And you?”
“Good as well.” I missed him. Since we were in different classes, we rarely talked now. We walked together out of the building. Josh had been busy lately. He had decided to become a Doctor so he was studying hard. He had decided to go to Harvard. I knew he could go there. Josh was smart and he had studied hard for it. I was sure his father was supporting him from up there, from heaven.
“How’s your relationship with Javier?” he suddenly asked. Oh, right. He didn’t know.
“Um…we split up. It didn’t work out between us and we’re just friends now.”
“Really? Wow, that was…fast.”
“Well, I guess we’re not meant to be.”
“Maybe. But you’ll get one soon,” Josh said but I could only smile. Knowing I had obtained what I wanted the most.
Blake.
But I chose to not talk about it now.
Our relationship was a forbidden one.
An uncle and his niece. It was not that bad compared to when he was still my stepfather, but he was still family. We had no blood connection but we were still a family.
I wondered what I had to do in the future. I knew Blake would make sure we ended up together forever.
I felt hopeless. I wanted to help. I didn’t want to let Blake do everything on his own.
“How’s Blake doing?” Josh asked.
“He’s fine.”
“Are you still mad at him?”
“We, uh, we’ve talked about it.”
“I see. Well, I’m glad to hear that. Listen, Olivia?” I looked up at him as we stopped our steps. Looking at me so seriously with his blue eyes. “You might have rejected me but you are still my precious friend. If you have some problem, you are welcome to talk about it with me.”
“Josh…”
“Maybe we’ll be busy looking for universities, but we could connect with each other.”
I smiled because of his words. Although I didn’t put any distance from him neither did Josh, our relationship was a little bit changed after I rejected his confession. I was glad because Josh never thought badly about me. I hoped one day…I could tell him about Blake.
“I would love that.” And he smiled where we finally reached outside the school building. Only being surprised with a person waiting at the door. Carol.
I looked to where she was. Wondering what she was doing here. And what she wanted here.
I stopped as well as John. “What’s wrong?” he asked but I didn’t answer. He directed his head to where I was looking at.
Realizing that she was being found, Carol pushed her body forward from the wall and walked towards me. She was wearing a black trench coat and black knee boots. Her hair was tied up to a ponytail as usual. “I want to speak with you,” she said. I got a bad feeling about this. We were never been in a good term ever since we spoke for the first time in the bathroom at Blake’s party. It got worse when I caught her little act on Blake. Worser when she always had me inside Blake’s office.
I didn’t know what she wanted to talk about. “Okay.” I turned to Josh and he was looking at me worriedly. Even he could tell there was something wrong between me and this nemesis of mine. “I’ll see you later, Josh.” He only smiled as I turned to Carol. She walked away first and I followed her lead.

We reached the new café near the school. We only ordered a drink. A vanilla milkshake for me while Carol had the chamomile tea.
We didn’t talk about anything while we’re on our way here. I didn’t know what to talk about. It was too hard to open a conversation with her.
I took a sip from my milkshake until I asked, “What do you want to talk about?”
Carol took a sip from her tea as well and then she smiled. She put her hands on the table and leaned her body slightly forward. “You see, I enjoy working with Blake.” Great. And her words just pierced my heart. “I was raised properly by my father. I can have anything I wanted. My father always makes sure of that. I was…devastated when I lost my mother, but daddy always tried his best to make me happy. Whatever I wanted; daddy would get it for me.”
“I thought my father was like my fairy godmother when he introduced me to Blake. I was instantly attracted to him. I knew he was trying to set me up with one of the most powerful businessmen in the city and I’m not a fool. He doesn’t need to try hard because,” she paused as her brown eyes were staring at me deeply. And with her head up high, “I’ve fallen with the older man.”
I hated hearing this.
She just made everything clear that she wanted Blake.
“Everything was so perfect until you stepped into his life,” she added as I eyed her suspiciously. What does she mean?
“I’m his niece, Carol.” This time, she giggled. Not that sweet. It sounded like she was mocking me.
“I thought there’s something when Blake is around you. He cares. He shows something. He always acts like he doesn’t have a heart but he proves me wrong when you’re around him. I thought that was odd considered you are only his niece.” My heart was beating fast. Thinking that I didn’t want to hear the continuation. No, I was not supposed to hear it.
Until Carol lost her smile while maintaining her eye contact with me. Hatred could be seen in her eyes. And her next words just made my heart jumped out and died. “I saw you two at the haunted house in your school.”
My eyes were wide opened and she smirked. “Blake was smart for choosing that spot. But he’s fool enough to not realized that he was being followed. It’ll make great news tomorrow, isn’t it? Or maybe it will be now?”
“What does that mean?”
“The famous Blake Morgan is sleeping with his niece. An incest relationship with his slutty niece. The world would only blame you for making him do this. People knew he has no weakness, not until he stated he’s in love with his own niece.”
“Carol, I—”
“I did some background check on you,” she cut me, leaving me unable to say anything. “I wanted to do Blake’s but that man was too powerful and he doesn’t let anyone found a single thing about him. Neither his private nor his business life. I found out that you used to be his adoptive daughter but he dropped his adoption on you two years ago because you’ve found your biological father,” she stated and then scoffed. “Maybe because you two have started doing something dirty when you’re still sixteen. With a minor.”
I could see where this goes. “What do you want from me, Carol?”
She eyed me again. “I only want him and you are a disturbance.”
“Blake is not a thing.”
“If you love him, you will let him go. He has business he had to protect. He could get any woman he likes but never you. You will be his downfall. And you better do it now or I will spread the news and destroy him in an instant.”
This time, I couldn’t take it anymore. She wasn’t just threatening me, but Blake as well. Whether I left him or not, Carol would come to Blake as well. Threatening the same thing. “You leave him alone.”
“I will once you step down.”
I shook my head. “No. If I leave him, you will try anything with your power to make sure Blake wants you. Probably by threatening the same way as you did with me.”
She smirked. Now I found her smirk was terribly disgusting. “You’re quite smart. But threatening Blake is difficult and since I have his weakness, I can use it anytime I want.” That’s fucking it!
I slammed my hands hard on the table. “Leave him out of this!” I shouted. All eyes were on me. I didn’t fucking care. She had crossed the line.
I couldn’t take it anymore. I had to get out of here before I grabbed that ponytail of her and pulled her out of the café.
I grabbed my bag and walked away. “You only have until tonight, Olivia.” Her words stopped me. Turning back to her slowly as she continued, “I’ll be waiting for your answer.” Her back was on me until she stood up. Pulling a pen out of her bag and wrote something on the tissue. She turned and walked towards me while showing her cocky smile. “I left my number there so you can call me when you have the answer and I’m expecting a good answer.” And with that, she walked past me with her hair smashed on my face. God, how I want to grab it and throw her away!
I was pissed.
I was angry.
But still…
“What am I supposed to do?”
