Baron gave a command. As an assistant, she could not take a step away from Hazel.
“My assistant came to find me. I’m busy now. Let’s talk later.”
Hazel subconsciously avoids the man. She was just about to open the car door when Bob grabbed her hand.
Bob said, “Hazel, I don’t ask you to reply now. I hope you can think about it carefully.” His eyes were gentle and serious.
Bob sensed the astonishment in Hazel’s eyes. A faint bitterness rose in his heart.
Hazel loved him before.
It had only been two or three months, they became so distant.
He was not by her side when she was most afraid, lost, and helpless.
Bob thought that in the future, he would not be absent from her life.
“Don’t feel burdened. You can look for me if you need anytime.”
A moment later, Bob opened the car door with a smile, very gentlemanly.
“OK.”
Hazel was a little upset. Under Lucy’s surprised gaze, Bob quickly left.
Knowing that Bob was alive, Hazel felt so happy and so excited. However, she did not move by his confession.
Hazel thought, ‘It’s hard for me to believe in a person after my best friend betrayed me.
“Hazel, who is he?”
After enduring it for a while, Lucy decided to ask for details. She wanted to tell Dave.
Baron was particularly concerned about Hazel. He must like Hazel.
How could one person treat another person so well? It must be love.
Baron already had such a high position. He would not do this for the sake of benefits.
“He is the chief actor of ‘Bubble Youth’.”
Hazel kept Bob’s identity a secret. This news could not be exposed, or Bob would be in danger.
Lucy wanted to ask a few more questions. Seeing Hazel was not in a good mood, she gave it up.
…
The sun was about to sink. The sky began to turn gray. Another day of the evening arrived.
The mountains in the distance were surrounded by a faint mist, only a vague outline was left. It was so beautiful. The air was refreshing. Hazel closed her eyes to feel the beauty of nature.
“Hazel, it’s all because of you.”
Edie was chattering on the side. Looking at the hidden manor in the forest in the distance, her heart was yearning. It was the Floyd Manor built by Baron.
“If it weren’t for you, Baron wouldn’t let me be here.”
Edie curled her lips. The Floyd Manor had been built for several years, and she had never been there. They passed by a broken bridge, that the car could not cross, and below it was the cliff.
The Floyd Manor was the most private place that Baron had built himself. Only the butler, servants, and the driver, Dave, could enter.
Every detail of the Floyd Manor was designed by Baron. Therefore, Edie was looking forward to it very much.
She wondered how Baron could design his private space. That man was so cold. Could it be that it was a terrifying paradise filled with skeletons?
“Dave, please slow down.”
Hazel opened the window and stuck out half of her body, looking into the distance.
Vaguely, the abandoned building made her think of the nightmare when she was imprisoned. The mountain road over there was the place where she and Baron met.
“Hazel, the past is the past.”
Dave slowly stopped the car, turned around, and comforted Hazel.
At that time, Dave saw how miserable Hazel was. Therefore, they became good friends.
If not for her tenacity, she would not have been rescued by Baron.
Everything had its arrangements.
Bringing Hazel to Floyd Manor was Baron’s intention.
Baron noticed that Hazel was still a little afraid of the past and wanted to find a psychologist for her.
Dave immediately gave his idea. He brought Hazel back to the original place.
Hazel opened the car door and took a deep breath. It had been so long, she should have had the courage to face everything.
Not far ahead, there was a rugged path, surrounded by weeds. She held her skirt and took the lead to enter.
Edie, Dave, and the two bodyguards followed closely behind.
“This ghost building is the Floyd Manor?”
The outer wall was mottled. The wall was washed off by the rain, the window was dark, and there was a wooden board nailed on it. It was gloomy.
Edie thought, ‘There is another universe inside, right?’
“Of course not. We haven’t crossed the Broken Bridge yet.”
Dave rolled his eyes at Edie’s imagination, expressing his disdain.
Edie was similar to Roger. Both of them had many strange ideas.
They had an engagement, which could not be better. The two troublemakers formed a family.
Outside the abandoned factory, there were still yellow warning lines, which were traces of the police.
Hazel opened the door and entered.
There was no change in the room. The continuously rainy days made the room smell wet and rotten.
There were many black mold spots on the corner of the wall.
There were a mess of hay on the ground and two instant noodles boxes, which were left by her and Elva.
Hazel wiped the broken stool with a tissue and sat on it.
Back here, she relaxed a lot. The fear disappeared.
Bruce, her, and Elva were all still alive.
“Were you sitting here at that time?”
Dave was afraid that Hazel would be scared, so he squeezed to the side and sat down. The stool was making a creaking sound.
“Yes, Elva and I were tied up. It was raining outside at that time. It was so cold.”
Hazel closed her eyes and recalled the scene back then.
She was scared, but she could not cry.
Her clothes were soaked. She was shivering from the cold. She saw the shooting scene. Bruce’s life was uncertain. Everything depended on her to bear.
“Hazel, don’t be afraid. Look, we are all here.”
Dave didn’t know what to say. He could only use words to increase his sense of existence.
Suddenly, the door opened. A weak ray of light shone in, and a tall figure appeared at the door.
Baron pursed his lips tightly. His expression was slightly cold as he looked in the direction of Hazel.
Their eyes met. Hazel closed her eyes. She was not afraid of anything, because Baron was there.
The sun disappeared into the horizon. The sky was a dark gray color. It got cool all around.
Baron stood against the light at the door, wearing a trim suit. Hazel could not see his expression.
He was, as always, awe-inspiring.
“Baron, are you here to fetch us?”
Edie waved to Baron. She was surprised at his arrival. Baron was too neat to come to such a place.
