Chapter 454 Meals or Nothing

Book:Time Travel to Become Your Sweetheart Published:2024-5-28

Dave suddenly realized that someone was inciting the fans to gather. It was a plot.
“They offer meals, but no money,” Dave said.
He began to make it up to make the man talk. Dave wanted to know about it.
As a result, the man knew nothing. He said that someone was recruiting figurants when he was selling watermelons on the road. The man was told that he could bring his family with him and get paid a hundred per day.
Before the man started working, the employer could transfer half of his salary into his account.
“It is so hot these days. Working for a meal is not a good deal. A figurant is paid 50 a day,” the man said.
The man looked at Dave with sympathy.
The man had taken Dave as his friend, so his attitude softened a lot.
Looking around, Dave found everyone looking like a figurant, who got paid a hundred per day.
Especially those middle-aged men and women. They must have had grandchildren. Dave found them a little weird to be real fans.
A three-year-old child was standing beside Dave. Dave wanted to tell the child to go back to school and that this was not the place he should stay.
“That is my son,” the man said.
The man scratched his head and smiled.
Dave was rendered speechless. He walked to the steps and sat down, but he jumped up at once because the step nearly burned his butt.
Every road was very crowded in City J. Edie was impatient, so she switched to the motorcycle of a traffic policeman. While she was racing on the road, the policemen were chasing her.
“Well done! Good job!” Roger said.
He snapped his fingers, wanting a lift. But Edie ignored him and whizzed past him.
There were no more motorcycles around. Roger panicked. He threw the key of his Porsche to an old man and borrowed the old man’s scooter to chase Edie.
Edie arrived early and had waited for half an hour before Roger came. Roger was exhausted because the scooter died on the way. He had to borrow another one.
But this time, Roger borrowed a scooter from a young woman. The woman lent it to him because Roger was handsome.
“You are so late,” Edie said.
Roger followed behind Edie, both of them wearing sunglasses and squeezing in.
“Do you have a good idea?” Roger asked.
Roger changed the topic. He knew that if he didn’t do so, they would quarrel again.
“I didn’t, but now I do,” Edie said.
Through the sunglasses, Edie looked at Roger with a sly smile. A great idea came to her.
There were so many people, so it was too hard to take Hazel out. Edie shall leave that to Baron. The only thing Edie could do was to stand with Hazel.
They had only met once, but Edie liked Hazel very much. That was rare for Edie.
Once Edie took someone as her friend, she would protect her forever.
“What is it?” Roger asked.
Roger didn’t see any good in that when it had something to do with him.
“Look! Someone is running naked!” Edie shouted.
Then Edie tore open Roger’s shirt. With the drop of the buttons on his shirt, Roger’s tanned six-pack was exposed in the air at once.
“Edie, you are insane!” Roger shouted.
Before Edie moved her hands to his pants, Roger tightened his belt at once.
This was the good idea Edie mentioned.
There was a noise in the crowd. People looked back and saw Roger’s naked upper body. Someone even raised their phones to take photos.
The reporters were especially excited because they had gotten another topic for their newspaper.
The reporters shall name this news “Crazy Fans Run Naked for an Answer!”
When people were distracted by this, Edie pushed in and ran into the building.
Thanks to Roger, Edie could finally come to Hazel!
While Roger was surrounded by people. Roger noticed that someone touched his six-pack. When he found out that a creepy guy did that, he was so embarrassed that he wanted to disappear.
Roger had never done such a thing in public!
Edie stood at the gate, waved at Roger, and then strode in.
“Hazel, are you alright? I am here to protect you!” Edie said.
Edie didn’t bring anything over. When she found that the staff here were hungry, she realized that she had forgotten something.
Edie had prepared some fruits in her car. She should have brought them to Hazel.
“I’m fine,” Hazel said.
She sat on the sofa, helpless. She was afraid that she couldn’t leave until night if the situation continued to worsen.
Her parents were still in the hospital. Hazel was so worried about them.
Hazel didn’t want to receive a call from the hospital. She trembled in fear.
Other people thought that Sally’s death was an accident. But Hazel knew that it was not like that.
Hazel thought that it was Elva or the Plum Blossom Organization who killed Sally. She was sure about this, but she couldn’t tell the police. It felt terrible!
Hazel thought that Elva came here with a purpose and that something worse would happen later.
“Are you Ms. Turner?” Elva asked.
Hearing that Edie came here for Hazel, Elva came over shamelessly.
Elva was jealous of Hazel. She didn’t know why so many people liked Hazel. Bruce liked Hazel and proud Edie wanted to befriend her, too. Hazel got kidnapped, which was a bad thing, but then she met Baron, the president of the Floyd Group.
Elva found it so unfair because Hazel didn’t have to get laid or drink with those producers to get a part in the TV series or movie.
Elva was very jealous.
“People know me,” Edie said.
When Edie was telling Hazel what she had done at the horse ranch and what had just happened to Roger, Elva interrupted her. So Edie was a little pissed off.
“However, I don’t really have interest in those who know me,” Edie added.
Edie looked cold and she could see through Elva, who was pretending.
For some reason, Edie disliked Elva the moment she saw Elva.
She didn’t even like the smell of Elva’s perfume.
“Well, I see. By the way, Ms. Turner, I don’t want you to be fooled by someone who looks innocent,” Elva said.
Elva had joined the organization, so she was not afraid of anyone now.
In this organization, people can kill anyone they disliked with approval.
Elva thought that Edie was just a bold and rude girl. Although Edie was rich, Elva didn’t want to please her.
Elva thought that she was no longer the woman who needed to live on flattering others.
“Don’t worry. I am good at people,” Edie replied.
Edie glanced at Xia You in disdain and fanned herself with her hand. She added, “Can you stay away from me? You have used too much perfume. Did you spray the whole bottle on yourself?”
Elva was so angry that she didn’t know how to retort, so she left.
Once Elva left, Edie smiled and began to tell more stories to Hazel.
“Without Roger, I would be here with you now,” Edie said.
For the first time, Edie praised Roger, but she was worried about the fans outside. To use Roger to distract the fans was the only idea she had. But it couldn’t fix the problem.
But Edie believed that after Baron finished his meeting, he would come and save Hazel.
Edie was very curious how Baron was going to draw the fans away. After all, Mr. Floyd was known as the most powerful man in the world. Edie believed that Baron could fix it.
