Chapter 447 A Chance to Mess With Her

The night was so quiet that Hazel could hear people breathe in the corridor.
Through the transparent wall, Hazel could see her parents lying unconscious in the ICU, intubated all over their bodies. Hazel felt pained, her eyes brimming with tears.
Hazel was very rebellious in college. Back then, Hazel didn’t know how hard her parents worked to pay for her expensive tuition.
Now the bad days were gone and Hazel got a part in the TV series “Teens”. Although Hazel couldn’t win fame through this TV series, she could at least become a real actress.
Hazel was looking forward to the day when her parents could see her on TV. By that time, her parents would tell others proudly, “This is my daughter, Hazel.”
For the day to come, Hazel had been working so hard.
Hazel once thought that she had plenty of time to achieve her goal. Now the thought sounded ridiculous to Hazel.
Hazel thought, ‘Why didn’t I work harder and make more money? In that case, I could have taken my parents to live with me in City J.’ Hazel kept blaming herself.
She ignored the man, Baron, standing beside her.
Until the early hours of the morning, Hazel was exhausted. She leaned against the back of the bench in the corridor, falling asleep. The tears on her face hadn’t dried.
“Mr. Floyd, the doctors from the United States are on the way here,” a man said.
The man walked over from a corner. Baron pointed at Hazel, who was sleeping on his lap. Then the man lowered his voice spontaneously.
Baron nodded.
The air conditioner was working. And the smell of the disinfectant in the corridor was strong.
Baron took off his coat and covered Hazel with it. Then he carried Hazel into the restroom.
That night, Baron stayed with Hazel for a whole night.
The light lit up the room. Hazel opened her eyes, feeling like she was in a dream.
The environment brought Hazel back to the days a month ago when she was shot.
Next to the bed was a worn couch. There was half a bucket of water in the water fountain. The table needed painting. The environment here was very shabby compared with the hospital Hazel used to stay in.
Dave and Hazel were familiar with each other now, so he entered the room directly with a lunchbox.
At six o’clock in the morning, after breakfast, Dave sent Hazel back to City J to film. After she finished filming, Dave picked her up and sent her back.
“Dave, why am I sleeping here?” Hazel asked.
She rubbed her eyes, her voice hoarse. She sat up and looked around blankly.
“You were tired last night, so you came here to rest,” Dave said.
Dave scratched his head, his expression unnatural.
In the morning, before Baron left, he told Dave not to tell Hazel where he was going. Dave was confused by Baron’s instructions.
Dave knew that Baron and Hazel stayed in the restroom alone for a whole night with the door closed.
Dave suspected that Baron had done something to Hazel.
It was said that when a girl was heartbroken, it was the best time to hit on her.
That was men’s trick.
Dave was wondering what if Hazel took him as the man whom she spent last night with? thinking of this, Dave’s face turned pale from red. He didn’t want to be a father!
Dave was not good at lying. He kept silent, staring at the lunchbox.
“I see,” Hazel said.
Hazel didn’t have any doubts about what Dave just said. She indeed had spent two nights in this restroom when her father had his heart surgery.
After washing up, Hazel ate some porridge in a rush. She hadn’t eaten anything for the whole day, so she was hungry. She didn’t want to do her filming while hungry, which would affect her working efficiency.
Dr. Roy showed his understanding of Hazel’s job. After a night of observation, the situation of Hazel’s parents was stabilized. They might wake up at night or tomorrow.
Dr. Roy also told Hazel that there was just a possibility, but their situation could get worse suddenly.
Before boarding the plane, Hazel called her younger brother and asked him about his life recently. But Hazel lied to him that their parents went to the countryside for vacation, so their phones might have no signal there.
After Hazel came back to City J, Baron hadn’t shown up.
Hazel wanted to call him, but she didn’t want to disturb him.
After all, Baron was the president of an international company, so he must be very busy. Hazel thought that Baron wouldn’t waste too much time on her. Hazel also thought that they were just friends, not even close.
The sun was shining brightly, and the weather seemed great. Hazel was restless, but she tried to act normal. She didn’t want to affect others.
“Mr. Field, can you film my parts in advance?” Hazel asked.
After hesitating for a while, Hazel went to Mr. Field, who was planning the scenes.
She did not tell Mr. Field about her parents. She just said that there was a problem with her schedule, so she wanted to finish her parts in advance.
Mr. Field was okay with her proposal. He and Hazel’s agent were friends, so he wanted to be nice to Hazel.
“What? I am sorry, Hazel, I am very busy, too,” Sally said.
Sally narrowed her eyes and walked over with a smile. Sally heard from a worker that Hazel cried last night after receiving a call. It seemed that something bad had happened to her family.
Sally was suspicious about it. But after she saw that Hazel and Mr. Field were talking there, she believed what the worker said.
Sally would not let Hazel finish her parts in advance. Sally would seize the opportunity to mess with Hazel.
“Mr. Field, I need to attend a charity party to raise money,” Sally said.
She pretended to look sad and said, “Many children with leukemia can’t receive treatment and are abandoned by their parents. Poor things.”
There was indeed a charity party. But Sally found it boring, so she told her assistant to reject their invitation.
Seeing Hazel being so eager to finish her work, Sally changed her mind suddenly.
“I will come early tomorrow to film today’s scenes,” Sally said.
Sally and Mr. Field had a small talk. Then Sally turned around with a smile and said, “Hazel, I hope you won’t mind it. Thank you.”
Hazel played the role of the heroine’s sister, so she had to appear with the heroine. Sally left, so Hazel came here for nothing.
“You…” Lucy was pissed off.
Lucy wanted to swear. She knew that Sally did this on purpose.
If what Sally said was true, she wouldn’t have come here. She would let her assistant ask for a leave on behalf of her.
Seeing Sally leaving with her bag, Hazel clenched her fists. This was the first time she felt so angry.
And Hazel realized that only fame could bring her enough money to pay for her parents’ medical fees.
Only fame could give her the freedom to come and leave without caring about others; complaints.
As soon as Sally left, the director began to film the parts of the hero, so Hazel could take a walk.
She was depressed. She wanted to finish her work as soon as possible, so she could go back to wait for her parents to wake up.
Her plan failed again. She felt helpless.
Hazel was wondering if she should call Dave. She wanted to borrow Baron’s private plane, although it might be troublesome. Hazel knew that Baron had helped her a lot, but she didn’t know how to thank him.
