Hazel was on an IV and she was a little dizzy. When she woke up, it was night.
Outside the window, the sun was setting in the west. On the distant horizon, there was a fiery red color.
A beautiful European-style wall lamp hung on the wall of the hospital room. It was very retro.
This was one of the highest paying private hospitals in City J, so the decorations looked unique.
Hazel closed her eyes. She had to endure months of hard work in order to pay back the cost of a day or two of hospitalization.
The door was gently pushed open. Baron pushed the door open and stepped inside. He stood in the shadows of the light and dressed in a light gray leisure suit. The outline of his face was hidden in the darkness, so she had no idea what he was thinking.
Hazel was about to speak when she suddenly heard a voice. Dave took a few wobbly steps and almost fell over. He adjusted his posture nimbly.
“Mr. Floyd, the door was left open.”
Dave rubbed his head. He was carrying a light blue lady’s bag. This bag had a blue striped scarf on it, and it was Hazel’s.
“This is mine.”
Hazel was very excited. She sat up suddenly, but due to her dizziness, she almost fell down.
Baron looked at her coldly, without moving.
He found that whenever he met this stupid woman, bad things would happen.
He tried to change his clothes when he got back to work this afternoon, but he got the news. His good friend Roger had returned home.
“What’s going on? Mr. Floyd, are you experiencing how to make money at a construction site?”
Roger’s light brown eyes were filled with contempt. He rarely saw Barron naked, so he grabbed his phone and snapped a picture. He wanted to see it when he was bored.
If the others knew, they’d be shocked!
“Why don’t you die abroad?”
Baron said coldly.
They were always teasing each other, and they were committed to making a fool of each other.
Roger was the only son of the Garnett family. The family had arranged a suitable marriage for him. But unfortunately, the woman ran away.
As a rich boy, Roger immediately became the talk in powerful families.
Roger was worried that his parents would blame him, so he left the country to live a life of freedom.
His cell phone was always off.
Every once in a while, he would send an email to Baron reporting that he was safe.
He escaped, but Baron was tortured. Roger’s parents insisted that Baron knew Roger’s whereabouts and questioned Baron every few days.
Their family was close. In the past, the older generation would help each other, so Baron had no reason to be angry. He had to handle these alone.
“Nothing is better than home.”
Roger crossed his legs. The diamond stud in his left ear kept sparkling, and he held his chin in one hand. After a moment, he said deliberately. “Mr. Floyd, are you all right?”
There was a red mark on Baron’s face that was clearly a nail scratch. Roger knew it was made by a woman.
It was interesting.
“Are you going home?”
Baron was embarrassed, so he avoided the question. This made Roger laugh.
“Mr. Floyd, you’re not ‘that’ impotent.”
After Roger finished, he glanced at Baron’s lower part of his body. He noticed a dirty mark on the dark pants.
Roger knew something and he wanted to tell his friends about this discovery. Who had caused Baron so much pain?
Was that person still alive?
Roger thought of a key question, so he shouted, “Baron, do you like men or women?”
He suspected that there must be something wrong with Baron for not being with a woman for so long.
If a man was sexually impotent, even if he was rich, he was still miserable.
The CEO of the Floyd Group, which controlled half of Magemoor’s economic lifeblood, certainly couldn’t hide the state of an illness. Roger suddenly made all sorts of connections.
Baron turned his head and frowned. If it weren’t for the fact that they hadn’t seen each other in a long time, he would have rushed up and killed the noisy man immediately.
“Actually, you don’t have to create so much gossip.”
Roger sat up from the couch and took a few steps back to keep a safe distance. He was ready to run away in case Baron got so angry that he rushed over and punched him.
“By the way, I’ve heard rumors about you abroad. I heard that at least a dozen of the women you dated cheated on you…”
This was ridiculous. Roger hadn’t found anyone more handsome than him, so Roger thought Baron was second only to him in handsomeness.
Baron turned around, walked into the presidential suite and left Roger.
This all happened not long ago. When he saw Hazel, Baron felt uncomfortable. This crazy woman had embarrassed him in front of his friends.
“This is my bag. That’s right. It has my phone in it.”
Two or three days had passed, so Hazel’s phone was dead. She excitedly rang the bell and asked the nurse to bring the charger.
Dave hid behind Hazel because he was afraid of the nurses.
“Don’t worry. They’re not here anymore.”
The nurse who came in was a woman in her fifties. She asked Hazel a few questions and then turned to leave.
Baron had his assistants deal with the noisy nurses from yesterday.
The professionalism of these young nurses was poor and affected the reputation of the hospital, so they had to be dismissed.
Hazel wiped her tears after charging her phone.
She only had a set of keys, a pressed powder, and a lipstick in her bag. Other than that, there was her wallet and cell phone.
She had less than a thousand in her purse, and Dave had already counted it.
“Did they get saved?”
Hazel looked at Dave nervously, because he was more amiable than Baron.
“Yes, but they were taken to the First Hospital of City J.”
Bruce was in a worse situation. He had been seriously injured and was unconscious. He had to undergo emergency surgery, and he had bullet holes in him.
They were dumped near the panhandle, so the man deliberately kept them alive instead of killing them.
Elva was better, but she was still in a trance and she was extremely irritated.
“Your friend was gang-raped.”
Dave was upset, but he didn’t want to hide it. Hospital tests showed that Elva’s lower body was torn, so the doctors did stitches on her.
