One and a half hours later, Noemi was brought to the side of Felix’s assistant. Then Ryder and Marina went to the Duncan’s.
Nicole was clinging to the window, unwilling to part with Noemi.
“Nicole, it’s fun to go to Ms. Green’s house where Dayton is. We talked last night. Have you forgotten?”
Jane taught her son well. Dayton was sensible and polite, and Marina liked children like him.
“Dayton?”
Nicole thought about it, nodded, and stopped making a fuss.
“Nicole, who will you marry in the future, Dayton or Noemi?”
Marina didn’t want to talk to Ryder. She hugged her daughter and played with her.
“I don’t know. They are all good-looking.”
Nicole hesitated. She wanted to choose Noemi, but Dayton left a good impression on her last night.
“Mommy, can I choose both of them? I like them all.”
After thinking about it for about five minutes, Nicole concluded that she liked them all.
Marina was speechless.
Ryder didn’t know what to say.
Ryder was worried and thought, ‘Nicole can’t stay with Marina anymore. If she flirts with boys everywhere like Marina in the future, what should I do?’
“What if you meet a better-looking boy in the future?”
After thinking for a long time, Ryder finally asked.
There’s an old saying that a man will behave the same way as he was a child.
Ryder was not a playboy. He thought that Nicole must have inherited it from Marina.
“Is there a better-looking boy?”
Nicole rarely went out and had seen too few people. She touched her chin and continued to think.
Ryder was tired, so he closed his eyes and didn’t speak.
Fortunately, the driver was reliable and what they had talked about wouldn’t get abroad.
“Yes, there are many good-looking boys, but you can only marry one of them!”
Marina was embarrassed. She was not an anthomaniac. As for the female lead, she didn’t want to judge.
“The next time I see Noemi, I will tell him that I will not marry him.”
There were so many good-looking boys. If Nicole met someone more handsome, she thought she would like him.
Marina didn’t speak.
They all fell silent.
The atmosphere was awkward. Marina didn’t know what to do. She was not good at teaching children.
“Nicole.”
Ryder opened his eyes and suddenly said, “It’s wrong for you to do this. You can’t judge people by appearance.”
“Then what should I focus on? Height?”
Nicole was puzzled and waited for her father to answer.
“The appearance is only one aspect. It’s the heart that matters. For example, if a good-looking boy is a bad person, are you willing to be with him?”
Ryder had racked his brains to say this. He felt that if he didn’t change his daughter’s thoughts, Nicole would take the wrong road.
“No.”
Nicole shook her head. She didn’t like bad people.
Nicole thought, ‘Daddy and mommy are good-looking. I want to find a partner who is as handsome as daddy in the future.’
Marina fell silent.
Nicole valued appearance a lot since she was young, which made Marina speechless.
Ryder decided to give up. He closed his eyes and stopped talking.
About half an hour later, they arrived at the Duncan’s.
The car entered the courtyard when Dayton ran out.
“Nicole, here!”
As the door opened, Dayton carried Nicole out of the car.
Jane told Dayton that Nicole was different from other girls. She was timid and Dayton should take good care of her.
“Dayton!”
Held by Dayton, Nicole forgot Noemi. Without warning, they left directly.
“Marina, you are Mr. Langdon’s woman.”
Jane blinked and pulled Marina away, leaving William and Ryder alone.
Men always talk about business and work, while women are different. They can talk about anything.
It was dark last night, and Marina didn’t notice that Jane had a belly bulge. It seemed that Jane was four or five months pregnant.
“I’m pregnant, so I rarely go out recently.”
Jane talked to Marina as if they had known each other for years.
Marina was envious. Jane looked so young and was taken good care of when she was pregnant. Jane was obviously highly favored.
It was no wonder that everyone was envious of Jane.
After Marina got off the car, she noticed that William had been looking at Jane.
“What happened between you and Mr. Langdon?”
Jane was experienced when it came to relationships. Though Jane obtained a good result, she had suffered a lot and almost lost her life before.
She had died once, so her understanding of happiness was deeper.
Jane thought Marina and Ryder were acting difficult with each other.
“The marriage between the two families. We are negotiating to divorce.”
Marina didn’t want to mention Ryder, but she didn’t hide it.
She thought that Jane would be surprised, but Jane smiled.
“Jane, I have something to tell you.”
Marina didn’t want to complain, but what Maeve did might affect the relationship between them.
After all, Maeve took advantage of her position to help Shawn contact estate agents.
“Shawn trusts Maeve. I don’t know what to do now. I came to City J this time to check if there is a problem with the land.”
Marina told the truth with nothing hidden.
“There is indeed something wrong with the piece of land you mentioned.”
Jane frowned and thought, ‘This was an internal matter of the Duncan Group.’ She seldom participated in the decision-making.
However, the land was not suitable for building because of its soil. Jane didn’t know if the soil had been improved over the years.
“Do not act rashly.”
Regarding Maeve’s problem, Jane couldn’t be able to help. It would be more troublesome if Maeve entered the White Group after being dismissed.
Marina was envious. Jane was better than her. She didn’t care about Maeve at all.
“That’s because she’s nothing. She only knows how to play tricks, but people I’ve encountered in the past wanted me to die.”
After many years, every time Jane thought about it, she still sighed. She didn’t understand why some women were interested in scrambling others’ things.
“I’m not afraid that Ryder will leave me. I’m worried about my elder brother. He is a hothead!”
Marina gritted her teeth. Shawn was her family forever, but Ryder and she might become strangers at any time.
Marina cursed.
Jane burst out laughing.
She liked Marina’s character and thought Marina’s description was accurate. Ryder was paranoid and deserved to suffer.
