Allyce glanced back and saw that Severo had somehow gotten in behind her.
“What?” She didn’t react for a moment to what Severo had said.
However, Severo stopped talking.
Allyce took his hand, “Come on, do you have something planned?”
“You guess?” Severo didn’t answer positively, he just went in hard.
Allyce’s eyes lit up, something Severo had said more than once.
He never lied to her, and since he had already spoken about it again, it meant that he was already sure of it.
Allyce stood on tiptoe, kissed him on the lips and looked up at him with a smile, “Thank you!”.
Severo gently wrapped his arms around her waist and leaned in for a kiss.
He kissed a little hard.
It was clearly a kiss that should have been sweet and happy, but Allyce inexplicably sensed a tinge of hopelessness and reluctance in it.
When the kiss ended, Severo did not let go and hugged her tightly, inseparable as if they were Siamese twins.
Allyce’s mind was rudely alerted.
Severo is not right.
He was hiding something from her, and it was no small thing.
There were a few times in the last few days when he looked at her in a daze, and she thought at first that Severo was too tired from all the work he had been doing to get over it.
However, after a few more times, he felt that something was wrong.
No one could understand better than she how quiet and discreet Severo was.
The fact that he behaves in such an obvious way suggests that the reason for his perversity must not be a trivial matter.
But he didn’t want her to know that he was doing his best to keep his composure, but it seemed to him that … was still a little tense.
It has been three years since she first saw him at the Jade Palace.
If she couldn’t see it from this side, she couldn’t really be considered his pillow talker.
Severe, yet always deep, always unpredictable, he occasionally lowers his defences against Allyce, who gradually comes to touch his heart.
But when he deliberately built up that defence again, the things he didn’t want to tell Allyce, Allyce would have no way of guessing them.
Allyce leaned into his arms, centred herself on him, wrapped her arms around his waist and asked softly, “Have you missed Alonzo too?”
She leaned into his arms, showing some of her affection and dependence on him, knowing that Severo liked her closeness.
He hoped that in this way he could get Severo to tell him something more or less.
As he thought, Severo’s body relaxed slightly.
Amid Allyce’s anticipation, Severo also said only two words: “More or less”.
Severo does not get on well and his side tracking fails.
Allyce couldn’t, and didn’t feel like questioning him, so she had to keep it to herself until she got back to J and then she would find the time to ask.
If you can’t get anything out of Severo, you can still start with Xabat and Dita.
Xabat and Dita were his right hands, and if he had something to do, he always asked those two brothers for it, so he didn’t think he couldn’t ask for anything.
However, Allyce’s idea fell on deaf ears when she returned to J.
Once back in J, she was as busy as a dog, getting up early, leaving for the office at dawn and returning only after dark.
Severo was even more so, and the two had very little time to even speak.
He is out of the office most of the time, but still insists on bringing Allyce to the office every day.
The two men were busy until the eve of the presidential elections.
It happened to be a Friday and the company had a rare morning shift.
Severo also returned in time for the end of the day.
He seemed to be in a good mood and, as soon as he arrived at the office, he had someone go to all departments to inform them that there would be a dinner tonight.
Allyce quietly approached him and asked: “What makes you so happy?
Severo smiled enigmatically: “I recently made a big deal, the guy is coming to J tomorrow, you and Xabat will pick him up at the airport”.
Allyce was a little surprised: “What people?
What kind of big fish would Severo ask him to collect personally?
Normally, if she looked at a man more than once, Severo would look her in the eyes and not at her nose, and he would give her a good face for a long time.
Without waiting for Severo to speak, Allyce spoke again: “Is it a man or a woman?
“You’ll see when you get there. The smile on Severo’s face was unmistakable and it was clear that he was in a good mood.
Seeing that Allyce wanted to ask something else, he reached out and put a finger between her lips: “Well, I’m not going to say anything about what you’re going to ask, you’ll know when you see the person, or don’t you want to go?
Allyce was quick to deny it, “Willingly …”.
It was a rare occasion when Severo offered to ask her for something, and she certainly didn’t refuse.
The smile on Severo’s face deepened at her words, and he lifted it and left the office.
Allyce glanced sideways at him as he walked, a faint smile still on his lips, indicating that he was in a good mood.
Allyce’s heart followed the relief that was probably lurching before because she was bothered by this big issue.
But what business is there that makes Severo so happy?
I don’t remember ever seeing Severo so happy about business.
Although a thousand thoughts ran through his mind, they had to be pushed aside when he arrived at the hotel.
Today’s meeting is for the heads of various departments.
It has been a hard time for all of them working overtime and Severo has chosen the best hotel in the city to treat them, and the city is the capital of J, so this hotel is also the best in the country.
Severo is not short of money and this cost is nothing to him.
However, department heads are delighted.
Allyce picked up on them and was in a good mood.
Someone approached to offer a toast to Severo and Allyce, remembering that Severo’s stomach would not allow him to drink, stopped him, “He can’t drink with his upset stomach, can you let him drink water?”
Allyce is the president’s wife and has such a kind voice that the toasters, naturally, dare not say anything else.
But Severo waved his hand: “It’s OK, I can still drink this”.
Allyce called out to him in a disapproving whisper, “Severo”.
Severo had stood up, leaned into Allyce’s ear and whispered, “Happy today, just this once, it’s been a while since I’ve had an upset stomach, less is good, wife …”.
He was a little short with the last two words.
He usually called her by her full name when he was happy, but rarely called her “wife”. Her voice was beautiful, and when he deliberately lowered his voice to call her “granny”, it had a different kind of seductive meaning.
Allyce turned her head to the side and took a sip of the juice in front of her, pretending to be calm, and turned her head to see that he was still watching her intently with a look that sought her approval.
