“Stop it!”
Jane looked at William drinking milk and reading his newspaper. She was flustered and exasperated.
It was frustrating that her husband was always good at almost everything while she wasn’t. She tried to think about what was the thing that she did better than him. Finally, she found the answer.
First, he didn’t have breasts.
Second, he could not labor a child.
Jane smiled. She was satisfied with her answers. It didn’t matter if she couldn’t beat her husband. She could find others!
In fact, Jane had had good luck with it. She could always find one whenever she needed it.
Though she understood that it was terrible, Jane needed to release herself, otherwise, she would be depressed.
As Pearl.
“Daddy, Mommy, did you fight last night?”
The two little monkeys climbed onto the chair. They had learned to eat by themselves with small spoons. The two kids looked at each other, blinking and waiting for the answer.
Jane didn’t say anything. She looked at them, wondering how they could have nothing like her. They looked like a small William.
She remembered that she once asked William, and he told her Ben had one thing like her.
She was surprised and delighted.
Carrying the twins for ten months, Jane was a little unwilling if they were not like her at all.
William told her firmly.
He pointed at Ben and said calmly, “Ben doesn’t like walking in a straight line.”
Jane almost rolled her eyes with his words. It had no help at all.
Ben walked like that was because of the joke of cat and mouse. Whether a cat walked in a straight line or not depended entirely on a mouse. Ben might think that he was a cat sometimes. Jane wobbled when she was walking was because of her sore waist.
William loved to make fun of her. Jane said nothing at the point but tried to find her turn.
“Daddy?”
Dan looked at the parents. “I heard it. Mommy said it hurts.”
“And I saw Daddy patting Mommy’s butt. Did Mommy do something bad?”
Jane was embarrassed. She was glad that the twins know nothing.
William felt the same, though he didn’t show it. He coughed and answered them patiently. “Right, Mommy didn’t behave well.”
“But Uncle Frederic said that it was wrong. We shouldn’t punish people by beating.”
Dan was very conflicted. He had also done something wrong like spilling the milk tea on Uncle Frederic. But Uncle Frederic taught that he would not punish Dan by hitting. It must be hurt. No wonder Mommy couldn’t walk in a straight line.
“Daddy, don’t punish Mommy anymore!”
Ben also protested.
Jane felt so ashamed. She didn’t feel joyful with her twins protecting her. Her face was red. In the end, the call from Jessica saved her. She left the table and hurried to work.
“Ms. Jane, Frederic had told me about the party.”
Jessica didn’t sleep well. Her face was slightly swollen. However, there had to be someone with her. Considering that Frederic was innocuous, she stepped forward.
“Black Widow and Dustball think that we are easy to bully. If they want to play tricks, we play with them.”
Jessica smiled, “Sure!” She filled her bag with a bottle of chili water.
She heard that it was not safe and the wandering hands were everywhere. So she prepared.
She wouldn’t feel sorry if she needed to use it.
Jane smiled. She didn’t ask but looked forward to seeing.
Jane believed that something was already waiting for her when she recalled last night.
Black Widow and Dustball were frequent visitors to the international jewelry shows. Thus, the first challenge was the car arranged for Jane and Jessica was canceled by the show organizer.
“It’s fine. The car wasn’t fine anyway.”
Jane was calm. She was completely different from when she was at home. She dialed the phone, and immediately, the Duncan Group arranged a limo. Jessica sighed. It was good to be rich.
It was exactly her dream. Jessica hoped that no matter where she went when she needed a car, someone can arrange it for her at any time.
With Ms. Jane, Jessica believed her dream would come true at any minute. Thus, she planned to work till retirement in the Green Jewelry.
“It’s a pity that the place is too small. Otherwise, we would take a private plane. No traffic jam.”
Jane didn’t seem to care at all, but she was angry. She had to find someone to vent her anger. She was waiting for the chance.
They soon arrived at the venue for the International Jewelry Show, which was just one of the most famous buildings in Paris, at the door of the triumphal arch. And at night, it was the venue. They would dress up and walk through the red carpet and the triumphal arch.
The surroundings had been cordoned off. There were no idle people. Everyone present was rehearsing in a building that had luxurious lounges and dressing rooms.
The next problem was there was no room for Jane. The staff explained that the room was limited, so Jane and Jessica had to wait in the hall.
“This is ridiculous!”
Jessica was so angry. She wanted to argue with the staff, but she didn’t. The award ceremony of the International Jewelry Show was one of the most powerful awards in the world jewelry show, she could not mess it up.
But what about their dignity?
“Ms. Jane, what should we do?”
Jessica subconsciously turned to look at Jane. She found that there was a hickey on Jane’s neck.
After listening to what Frederic said, she was so nervous that she didn’t sleep for a whole night. But look at her boss. They worried about nothing. Somehow, she admired Jane better.
“What?”
Jane glanced at the coffee on the table and smiled. Those who knew her would understand that this was a sign before she got angry, a completely harmless and appropriate smile.
“Let’s go!”
Jane stood up and walked towards a room. Jessica followed behind her, muttering, “Isn’t there no room?”
“It’s not up to them.”
Holding the identity token, Jane searched for names at the door. Coincidentally, Dustball and Black Widow were next to each other, so she did not have to find someone to change rooms!
Raising her hand, Jane tore off the label on it and replaced it with Black Widow’s.
Jessica was in a trance. She felt her boss like a bandit at that moment.
