Chapter 472: Something is missing

The overwhelming news on the internet told Allyce that she was still thinking too naively.
I had just thought about paying the media to pull the story before it got too hot, but I had forgotten that the media are all dog noses and can detect the slightest movement.
And because Severo used to be so secretive, even in the years when he was not in the media, the media mentioned him from time to time to attract attention.
As soon as the news of Severo’s “serious illness and death” became known, it was picked up by all the media.
He searched the internet to find out which media outlet had first reported the story, but as he searched, he discovered that the stories had disappeared.
I had just seen him, but why had he disappeared?
Could it be Xabat?
“What are you looking at?”
Severo’s voice suddenly rang in her ears and Allyce looked at him hurriedly: “Nothing.
“Come on, let’s go back.” Severo raised a faintly invisible eyebrow.
Allyce hurried to her feet and the two of them took Alonzo by the hand, left and right, and headed back to the living room.

Allyce asked Xabat about the incident, and it was true that he had had the news suppressed.
This is what Xabat said: “It doesn’t matter that the news got out, that story was already botched, at least no one from the media would have come to the old people’s home to bother the boss”.
Allyce’s thoughts were the same as Xabat’s and he agreed with him.
While Severo and Alonzo were playing in bed, she went out and called Gabrio.
When he answered the call, he said in an apologetic tone: “Gabrio, I’m sorry I hung up on you earlier …”.
Gabrio said softly: “It’s OK, I don’t mind.
There was a pause before he continued: “I just saw that all the news has disappeared, have you?
Allyce acknowledged with a “hmm”.
Gabrio asked again: “Because the reports were not true? Tell me, did Severo catch the K1LU73 virus?”
When Allyce saw that Gabrio had asked, she said, “Yes”.
Sensing Allyce’s spirits drop, Gabrio said after a moment of silence, “I’m sorry, I’ve asked my friends abroad about the K1LU73 virus and still no news, they know next to nothing about it.”
“I know, thanks anyway”.
“Allyce …”
“It’s really okay, it’s getting late and I’m getting ready for my break, bye”. Allyce tried to keep her tone as light as possible, she was in a hurry to get off the phone just so she wouldn’t have to discuss Severo’s situation with someone else.
Gabrio looked at the time, it was actually still very early, less than nine o’clock, even his bedtime as a routine doctor was after ten o’clock.
And Allyce said it was late, partly because she feared he would ask about Severo, and partly probably because it was time to fit in with Severo.
But even if Allyce had said nothing, he could have guessed Severo’s current state. Grizzi’s “K7” medical team is at the top of the world’s medical profession …

In the middle of the night, with Severo and Alonzo asleep beside her, Allyce was not sleepy at all.
I couldn’t sleep in Severo’s state.
He thought about it and cautiously got out of bed.
Alonzo was a small boy and was heavy when he fell asleep, and Severo also slept a lot, as even sitting up was a drain on his energy.
Without alerting Severo and Alonzo, he got out of bed, walked to the window and sat quietly.
The K1LU73 virus came from Grizzi, so why did Grizzi’s people want to confront Severo? Was it simply to get him killed?
But if that were the case, why didn’t the previous Adam know that Severo was infected with the K1LU73 virus?
Severo had also been investigating the matter all this time, and she knew very well that she could not help Severo in such matters, so she had not asked Severo about it.
So I wasn’t sure if she had heard anything or not.
If Severo hadn’t discovered anything, Allyce didn’t believe it.
If Grizzi coveted the LK Group, shouldn’t Grizzi’s people have stepped in to negotiate a deal when Severo’s health deteriorated?
But no.
Hypothetically, Grizzi could have approached Severo to give him the antidote only after he had resigned from the LK Group, and Xabat could not have known about it.
Then there was only one other possibility.
Someone wanted Severo dead.
If that hypothesis were true, then who had such a grudge against Severus that he hated his death and had to do it in such a cruel way?
Allyce clenched her fist and banged her head a few times, thinking about who would be the most likely person to do this.
But Severo must have offended countless people, from abroad to at home, in all the years she had lived.
She suddenly realised that she herself had no idea how Severo had contracted K1LU73, all she knew was that he had been drugged.
If he found the person who had drugged Severo, wouldn’t Severo’s chances of getting the antidote also improve?
But surely Severo knew such a simple truth …
As clever as Severo is, there’s a chance that he may have missed something…
Having found a breakthrough, Allyce could not stand still any longer and now she was going to find Victorino.
Victorino knew all about Severo’s health and must have known how he had been drugged.
He looked at the time, two o’clock in the morning.
Not caring how late it was, he headed straight for Victorino’s office.
Victorino had been staying at the sanatorium recently.
When he reached Victorino’s office door, he found a beam of light escaping from the door.
Victorino was still awake.
She knew he was still working on the antidote to the K1LU73 virus, and it seemed he had been working tirelessly.
Knock, knock!
Allyce knocked softly on the door and called out his name: “Doctor Griego”.
Victorino was analysing a series of data when he heard a knock at the door and, hearing Allyce’s voice, got up and opened the office door.
Seeing Allyce standing outside, he wondered, “Ma’am?”
What was Allyce doing here at this hour?
Allyce said with a serious look on her face, “I need to talk to you”.
Victorino smiled and stepped aside to let Allyce in.
