Allyce knew that Severo had been investigating things about Grizzi and that he knew more than anyone else.
Severo finished seeing that both Xabat and Severo were looking at him before he spoke again: “It’s okay to ignore Marco and not worry about him”.
But just because they ignore Marco doesn’t mean he won’t go to them.
Marco came quickly.
In the evening, Allyce had prepared dinner and the group was about to eat when Marco arrived.
Hearing a knock at the door, Allyce unties her apron and says: “I’m coming.
Opening the door, she saw Marco in front of her with the weeds still on his clothes and looking different, “Mr. Pastrano?”
But he quickly thought about why Marco was in such a mess; this was supposed to be a private sanatorium, without many patients, but with many bodyguards, and people were not let in easily.
And although Marco was a noble man, he could not give away his identity, and if she was right, Marco was working on this case in secret.
So Marco must have entered through the wall.
After all, he was a professional soldier.
Marco was a little dishevelled, but the sharpness between his eyes had not diminished at all, and he said, “Mrs. Betances”.
“What can I do for you?” Allyce had no intention of letting Marco see Severo.
After all, Severo no longer had as much energy as before.
Is Mr. Betances here?” said Marco, tilting his head inwards.
Allyce did not say a word, a silent expression of her unwelcome presence at Marco’s arrival.
Instead, as if not seeing him, Marco continued to ask her: “Mrs Betances, may I come in and sit down?
“Come in.” Severo approached at some point.
Allyce looked back and saw Severo standing behind her with a calm look on his face and hurried towards him.
Marco’s eyes sparkled with disbelief when he saw Severo.
But he was no ordinary man and quickly straightened his expression.
Marco closed the door and went inside.
Severo didn’t say much and headed straight for the dining room.
Allyce was a little puzzled, was Severo going to take Marco to dinner with him?
But when they arrived at the restaurant, Allyce realised that she had thought too much.
Severo sat down directly at the table, glanced at Marco and said: “What does Mr. Pastrano have to say?
With those words he began to serve Alonzo his meal.
Alonzo cast a curious glance at Marco and withdrew his gaze.
Marco’s face glowed with dismay, he hadn’t expected Severo to say even a word of courtesy, even if he didn’t necessarily want to eat with Severo and the others, it was polite of Severo to at least ask, wasn’t it?
Severo looked at him suspiciously, saw what he had in mind and just raised an eyebrow, still without saying anything.
Marco was Neto’s brother, and he was supposed to be polite, but Marco had gone to see Allyce in the middle of the meeting, and that was a bit of a problem for Severo.
Besides, Marco hadn’t come in openly, he was just looking for trouble, so why would he ask Marco to eat? Not to mention the fact that it was Allyce’s food, and she couldn’t give it to another man.
And because Allyce didn’t like Marco, she didn’t ask him.
Marco’s face hardened at being treated with such blatant indifference.
But he was so adaptable that he quickly recovered and asked, “What’s wrong with Betances, sir?”.
“Mr. Pastrano is aware of what is going on, so why ask any more questions?” Severo replied in a light voice.
Marco’s face was impassive and he asked again: “Who is it?
Although he did not say it explicitly, Severo heard it clearly: “It is useless to say it, that man is dead”.
Marco understood at that moment that Severo was referring to Amado Mejía.
The issue returned to Amado Mejía’s contact with “Desiderio”.
He couldn’t help but turn his head towards Allyce.
But he didn’t ask Allyce, but continued to ask Severo: “At the risk of asking, sir, can Betances give me a tube of blood?
It wasn’t too much to ask, plus the K1LU73 virus was not a good thing, and it would be good if I took blood from him and gave it to Marco to take to the national research team for study.
“Later, I’ll ask Neto to bring it to you”.
As he seemed to have guessed that Severo would agree, Marco showed no surprise.
But his words didn’t seem to end when he added: “Mr. Betances, can you say …?”
“Mr. Pastrano! We’re going to eat, could you leave first?” Allyce’s voice interrupted Marco.
He turned his head and saw Allyce looking at him with anger on her face, as if she held a grudge.
Allyce was furious inside.
He didn’t care what case Marco was working on or what task he was doing, Severo looked like that and anyone with eyes could see it was wrong.
But Marco wouldn’t even look at him, asking for his blood and asking about other things. Although she and Xabat had been working on this issue for the past few days, they did not mention it in front of Severo, mainly because they were afraid of draining Severo’s energy and tiring him out.
And Marco knows that Severo is in a bad way and continues to give him a hard time without being invited… Severo doesn’t owe him that! Nor does he want to let irrelevant people drain Severo’s energy.
Not only Marco, but even Severo was a little surprised.
“My husband is just a victim, that’s all he knows, you’re just sapping his energy by asking questions, you’d better go undercover at Grizzi HQ and investigate this matter!”.
Allyce was getting angry with Marco.
How could she suffer for someone else when the man she cared for herself was so carefully looked after?
Marco’s face paled slightly at her words.
“It was presumptuous of me”.
He finished, nodded slightly to Severo and got up to leave.
Until Marco came out, Allyce still looked bloated.
Before Severo could say anything, Alonzo blinked at a small wet bun and said, “Mama’s face is like a bun …”.
“Ha ha!”
The next moment, Severo laughed out loud.
Allyce pursed her lips and turned her head to look at Severo, and Alonzo added at that precise moment: “The bun is gone …”.
He said as Allyce’s puffy face calmed down.
“Give this bun to mama, you see mama is not happy.” Severo smiled as he cajoled Alonzo into giving the bun to Allyce.
Alonzo sniffed and hurried to give the bun to Allyce.
Allyce looked at Severo with dissatisfaction, only for him to rise and lean across the table to kiss her.
