Allyce finished, put the last bottle of milk in, slammed the fridge door shut, pushed Severo out of the way and went to boil the water.
The sequence of actions was done in one fluid, coherent and cool movement.
Severo’s face sank and the hands at his side clenched involuntarily.
“His voice was a little lower, as if he were asking Allyce, and as if he were talking to himself.
Allyce turned her back and stood still after plugging in the water boiler.
She also heard what Severo said and a flicker of doubt crossed her face before disappearing again.
Several days passed and Severo finally approached her, but not to explain anything, only to ask her where she had bought the tie pin.
If I really loved him, how could I lose him.
Although she knew Severo didn’t care about that tie pin, hearing that he had lost it gave Allyce an inexplicable sense of anger and loss.
If it was lost, it was lost.
“If there’s nothing else, you can come back.” Allyce let out a long sigh and turned her head to look at Severo.
Severo looked at her with an expressionless face: “You’re still not coming back?
Allyce gasped and laughed at this: “Severo, what do you mean by that?
His tone sounded as if he was totally blaming her for having to move for no reason.
She remembered that at first it was because of Alonzo, and that after they had talked it over, Severo had agreed to separate her for a while before moving out.
And now, coming from him, it was her fault for being unreasonable?
“Then I’ll go back first.” Severo glanced at her before heading for the door.
Allyce bit her lip hard and couldn’t resist raising her voice to ask, “What’s going on with you and Laurinda?
Still, the question came up.
As calm and confident as she had been in the face of Laurinda’s provocation, she was no longer so in front of Severo.
Severo paused slightly at her words and looked at her with a calm face, a glint of confusion in his dark eyes, as if he didn’t know who Laurinda was, before quickly returning to his natural self.
Allyce then heard Severo’s indifferent voice: “A friend”.
And with that, he left.
“Bang!”
The sound of the door slamming, not very softly, was heard before Allyce looked back.
A friend? Did she mean Laurinda?
Severo looked like nothing was wrong and had not said anything she wanted to know.
And he had come today for no apparent reason.
“Grrrr~”
The water in the boiling kettle boiled and Allyce turned her attention back to it.

Throughout the night, Allyce woke and slept, and she did not sleep well.
The next morning, he went to work as usual.
As he headed towards the entrance to the neighbourhood, a taxi pulled up.
As it happened, Allyce was taking a taxi to work.
The next moment, a familiar figure got out of the car.
It was Senona.
Senona’s face was as white as paper as she hurriedly got out of the car, and she didn’t see Allyce in a panic.
Allyce frowned slightly, shouldn’t Senona already be in hospital?
With that thought, he raised his voice to call Senona.
“Senona!”
Senona stiffened and turned her head quickly, relieved to see that it was Allyce.
He looked around for a moment before saying, “It’s you, so early in the morning”.
“How did you get out of the hospital?” Allyce knew that Senona should be recovering in the hospital by now.
“I …” Senona’s face changed abruptly and she bit her lip without speaking, as if it was a little difficult for her to say something.
Allyce thought about what she had heard Casimiro and Eric say yesterday at the hospital.
She was not sure if it was the incident that had caused Senona to run out of the hospital in such a panic.
But Senona didn’t say, and she didn’t want to ask.
He smiled and said: “I have to go to work”.
Seeing that Senona still had no intention of saying anything, Allyce turned and prepared to leave.
“Wait!” Senona suddenly called out to her.
Allyce stopped dead in her tracks and looked at Senona, gesturing for her to say something.
“I … plan to leave the country, today”. Senona’s tone was a little hesitant when she first opened her mouth, but as she spoke, she became more and more determined.
Allyce heard this and was already sure that Senona was avoiding Casimiro and Eric.
It was a bit sad and a bit ridiculous.
“Well, all the way then …” Allyce hadn’t finished her words when her gaze froze and she dropped behind Senona and spoke sharply, “You probably won’t be able to walk.”
Senona looked back as if thinking of something and saw Casimiro coming this way with his men.
The Delahoz family was well established, and even if the Delahoz group was bought out cheaply, it still had other financial resources, and would be more than enough to subdue a Senona.
Senona’s voice trembled a little: “Grandfather …”.
“Senona, how can you run around if you are not well, you used to be good, listen to your grandfather and go back to the hospital”. Casimiro approached slowly and his old face sank as he saw Allyce standing behind Senona.
Senona shook her head: “I’m not going back.
Casimiro would make her have an abortion and marry a rich man’s son, and she didn’t want to.
He had lived the previous twenty-six years as a tragedy, a human being, and he did not want to be at the mercy of the Delahoz family for the rest of his life and let the tragedy continue.
She didn’t want that.
Casimir looked away from Allyce, pretending not to see her, and said to Senona, “You have no choice.
Senona was not stupid, she knew that the only person who could help her at that moment was Allyce.
He turned to Allyce with a pleading look on his face: “Allyce, can you help me one more time?
Allyce hesitated.
But come to think of it, he had saved Senona from Severo, so it was no big deal to help her one more time.
Besides, being a woman, Allyce couldn’t help it.
Before Senona’s pleading eyes, he stepped forward and stood in front of Casimiro: “Old Delahoz, at your age, haven’t you thought of doing yourself some good?”
He didn’t even say “grandfather”, because he had stopped thinking of Casimiro as a grandfather.
Casimir’s face grew cold and his eyebrows twitched angrily, “If you have broken your ties with the Delahoz, don’t meddle in the affairs of the Delahoz!”
“Well, let’s talk about something else then”.
Allyce had an entrepreneurial look: “Half of the Delahoz Group is given back to you, you let Senona leave the country, and from now on whether she lives or dies has nothing to do with your Delahoz Family”.
Even after returning half of the estate to Casimiro, Allyce was still earning it, he didn’t have much energy to manage the Delahoz Group anyway, giving one back to Casimiro and leaving it to him to manage was not a bad thing.
