Chapter 357: You Can Always Trust Me

Severo opened his mouth, his voice slightly muffled: “No”.
At first he worried that Orlin was really Ariela’s killer.
Because of his many concerns, he had not investigated afterwards.
At the time, I had not suspected Jonas because he had no motive.
The other reason was … that he still had an inexplicable longing for the biological father who had not been involved in his upbringing.
Even if he is the powerful LK president everyone talks about, that doesn’t mean he has no expectations of his father.
Ariela is a spontaneous and easy-going person, and when she was very young, Ariela told him that she and Jonás had broken up peacefully, without grudges or hatred. If Severo wanted to see Jonás, she agreed to let him do so.
So Severo vaguely expected something from Jonah. He felt that someone like his mother should not be a bad man to look at, and that his real father should be a decent, honest and special man.
But now that things had reached this point, the truth was getting closer and closer.
In fact, after that interrogation of Eric, I had guessed Jonas.
It had taken him some time to come to terms with the possibility that this could happen.
But what followed was beyond his control.
I had not dealt with this properly before someone brought it out for all to see.
Allyce froze slightly and wiped a tear from her eye harshly, her voice still had a nasal tone to it. “Sorry, I’m a bit under the weather right now, let’s sleep in separate rooms tonight while I calm down.”
As soon as Allyce finished speaking, he opened the car door and got out, driving straight into the villa.
Severo watched Allyce’s back, his face grim.
By the afternoon I had investigated the dozen or so mainstream media outlets that had sent in the first reports, all anonymous packages, with a DNA report attached.
It was his and Jonas’ DNA report.
None of the media were sure who had sent it.
At first, the media were too cautious to publish a story, as Severo’s status was such that it was not easy to mess with him.
But the media were quick to pick up on the story and more and more media outlets followed suit.
There was no way to trace who was behind it.
Was it a conscious or unintentional investigation?
The person who posted the story anonymously also did not ask for payment, which means that he was not looking for money either.
Who is the person behind it and what is the purpose?

Allyce was in the guest room and did not sleep all night.
Severo did not come looking for Allyce either.
The next morning.
Allyce had just reached the stairs and was about to go down when she saw Severo coming from the other side.
Severo seemed in good spirits, but his slightly pale face showed that he had not slept well the night before either.
Allyce asked him: “Did you stay up late again last night? What time did you go to bed?
Lately he keeps working on his stomach, he hardly looks better, and then he stays up late!
Don’t you want to die?
Severo’s dark eyes shone with light as he looked at Allyce with a burning gaze: “I went to bed early, but I had some insomnia.
He couldn’t sleep alone, but he didn’t dare go with Allyce for fear that if he disturbed her too much, it would backfire.
Allyce was inexplicably embarrassed by the look on his face.
She had not been able to sleep the night before because she felt uncomfortable sleeping alone, as well as thinking about things.
The two stood on the stairs for a few minutes before coming down.
“Come with me to meet someone”.
The two were sitting eating breakfast together in silence when Severo suddenly spoke up and said this.
It was Saturday and there was no need to go to work.
Allyce asked him: “Know who?
Severo said only one word: “To him”.
Allyce immediately realised that she was referring to Jonas.
Whatever happened, she was going to see Jonas one more time.
He nodded silently.
Now, though, everything was becoming clearer.
But still, the connection did not exist.
How had Ariela really died, who was the real killer, and what had Jonas done in between?
In fact, Allyce could probably guess something after a quiet night.
Lavina and Jonas had mentioned Ariela together.
According to previous homicides, in many cases it was an acquaintance who committed the murder.
If that was the case.
So there was only one possibility, Jonas was Ariela’s real killer, because he had been her lover, they were acquaintances.
Allyce was startled by her own thoughts and jerked her head sideways to look at Severo.
By now they were sitting in the car, ready to go out to meet Jonas.
Severo was driving, except that his face was a little white, but his expression was calm as always, as if he was completely unaffected by the incident.
This man was like that, hiding his emotions so tightly no matter what, that she couldn’t glimpse them no matter how careful she was.
“You …”
Allyce spoke, wanting to tell him something, but not knowing where to start.
Severo suddenly said, “I’m sorry I kept so much from you from the beginning, at first I didn’t think it was necessary to tell you, but then I didn’t know how to talk about it and I cowered like a coward.”
A look of surprise crossed Allyce’s face.
Severo didn’t look at her either, his eyes focused straight ahead as he continued, “I didn’t doubt him at first, just as you always believed your father wouldn’t do such a thing, and even though I didn’t live with Jonas, I was willing to trust him.”
When he finished, he sounded, in an uncharacteristic tone, a little dejected: “I wanted so much to be like you, to keep believing”.
But there was no way out; the truth was near.
He spoke all the words from his heart, trusting that Allyce would hear them after a quiet night.
And Allyce listened.
Severo, who … was actually quite innocent as well.
By this time, the two men had reached the entrance to Kimdis.
The two men did not get out of the car immediately.
Allyce reached out and took his hand, her lips curved and she said softly: “You can always trust me.

Jonas had already arrived when the two of them reached the cashier’s office.
Xabat stood guard at the gate with his men, awaiting the arrival of Severo and Allyce.
“Boss, ma’am.
Severo made no noise and Allyce nodded to Xabat: “We’ll go in first.
Jonas stood up as soon as he saw Allyce and Severo enter, his whole body acting in haste.
Allyce looked at the middle-aged man she had known since she was a child with an icy expression.
Jonah’s eyes fell on Severo, “Severo …”.
“Señor Aybar, we don’t know each other that well.” Severo gestured for Allyce to sit down before looking at Jonah.
Severo’s cold tone made Jonas’ face change slightly.
