Chapter 339: Couldn’t give her the answer she wanted

Even though Enzo had said that his dad was dead . That time he talked to Gabrio about his father, Gabrio’s look told him that his father might not be in this world anymore.
However, I still couldn’t believe it.
For many years, he had firmly believed that his father was still alive in this world.
He looked at Severo expectantly.
Waiting for Severo to give him a different answer.
He needed someone to tell him that his father was alive and should not be dead.
But …
“Don’t look at me like that.
Severo suddenly reached out and covered his eyes.
I couldn’t give her the answers she wanted.
Because, in reality, Orlin was dead.
His eyes turned black, but through Severo’s fingers he could still see a glimmer of light.
He stubbornly asked her: “Where is my father?
He was dead.
Simple words that Severo could not say anyway.
Allyce waited too long for Severo’s response and her heart grew cold.
He didn’t even care whether his father’s case was revived or not, he just wanted him to be alive.
Severo felt a warm wetness on his hand, a slight heat that made him feel as if he had been burned, and he quickly let go of his hand.
As far as the eye could see, Allyce’s face was streaked with tears.
Allyce’s voice was shrill with sobs: “It can’t be, how can my dad be dead!
Without a word, Severo clung to her, a sense of helplessness spreading through his heart.
In its early years, it had struggled to grow in order to separate itself from Tagus’ sphere of influence.
Because he felt that power would take care of everything for him.
It was only when he met Allyce that the power seemed to be lost.
There is no going back in time, there is no undoing what has happened.
Lost children, lost loved ones.
No amount of money, no amount of power, is worth anything.
Allyce tugged on Severo’s shirt and cried hissing: “Oooh … I can’t believe it …”
The expectations of more than ten years vanished in an instant, as if a huge black hole had emptied into her heart, like a whirlpool dragging her into disappointment.
Inside his heart, he was suffocatingly hard.
He would never be able to wait for his father’s return.
Forever.
“My … dad … will never come back …”
Allyce was still sobbing, a broken sentence, her tone helpless and desperate, vulnerable as a child.
Severo kept his grip on her, not daring to move a muscle.
“Don’t cry.
I didn’t know how to comfort her.
When Ariela had died suddenly, he had also been sad and had cried in secret.
However, he had quickly been persuaded to accept reality.
But Allyce was different. She had clung to a faint hope for more than a decade, and suddenly that hope had collapsed.
After a while, Allyce finally calmed down a bit.
His voice was weak: “I don’t want to stay in hospital.
Severo kissed her lightly on the forehead and said, “All right, we’ll go home now”.

The two returned to the hotel after a quick tune-up, despite the doctor’s resistance.
There wasn’t much in the first place, it was all Severo’s to sort out.
She stared at him, her eyes sore again.
She got up to go to the bathroom and when she came out, Severo was already waiting for her.
Severo took her by the hand: “Let’s go”.
Allyce looked back absently and asked, “Where’s that Muppet?
Severo froze: “I lost him”.
The situation was so urgent that he had forgotten about the Muppet.
Allyce nodded, indicating that she knew.
He felt a little sad.
Severo had given it to him.

Back at the hotel, Allyce had a quick bite to eat and fell asleep.
It was not a restful sleep at all.
He dreamt again of the day when Orlin went to the charity dinner.
He had a fever that day and Orlin had ordered him not to eat ice cream.
She was still angry with Orlin when she left the house.
Before leaving, Orlin stroked her little head with loving eyes: “Allyce, stay home and rest, no ice cream, daddy will be back soon”.
Then Orlin did not return.
He dreamt that he was waiting under that date palm tree in the courtyard and kept on waiting …
Dad-
Allyce awoke from her sleep with a start.
The room was a bit dull, the lamp on the bedside table was still on and the seat next to it was empty.
Allyce got out of bed and pulled back the curtains, light flooded in and the room brightened.
He called out: “Severo?
The result was that there was no response.
He searched the bathroom, but Severo was nowhere to be seen.
It was at that moment that a knock sounded at the outer door.
“Hello, food delivery.
Allyce walked over and opened the door to discover that it was the hotel’s food delivery waiter.
The waiter pushed the food trolley inside.
As the waiter brought down the food, he said: “Hello, your husband has given you your order.
Allyce asked him: “Where is he?
The waiter had already put the food away and said with a smile: “He ordered and went out, we don’t know where he went, you should call him and ask him”.
“Thank you.
After the waiter left, Allyce was about to go to wash up when the door to the room opened again.
It was Severo who had returned.
“Where have you been? ….”
Before the last words were out of his mouth, Allyce stopped his sentence.
Severo opened the door sideways, and only after entering did Allyce see the Muppet he was holding in his other hand.
It’s the same as yesterday’s Muppet.
Severo looked up at Allyce: “Breakfast delivered?
“Well, this one …” Allyce pointed to the Muppet in her arms, “Where did you go to retrieve it?”
“I went to the owner of the stall and rewrote the numbers to win it”.
Severo said, and handed him the Muppet in his hand.
Allyce took it with a slightly surprised look and stroked the Muppet’s furry ears as a smile crept across her face. “Thank you.”
Severo pointed to his face, “A more practical thank you”.
Allyce set the Muppet aside, grabbed his arm, stood on tiptoe and kissed him on the cheek. “Thank you.”
-Thank you for being willing to go to such lengths for me.
She knew, of course, that Severo was trying to make her happy.
But I really couldn’t help feeling sad.
She hadn’t wanted Severo to worry so much either.
Severo didn’t expect Allyce to actually kiss him, and the corners of his lips couldn’t suppress a slight gasp.

In the days that followed, Allyce acted calmly.
But the calmer she behaved, the more worried Severo became.
He expected her to return directly to Cloud Cit, and had even booked a flight.
But she preferred to stay and continue working.
Severo had to follow her during the day when he worked because he was restless, and at night, when he returned to the hotel, he would harass her to torment her.
