I slowly opened my eyes when I felt someone caressing my cheek gently. The first thing I saw was the warm smile of the beautiful woman living here on earth. She gently caressed my right cheek repeatedly while staring at me lovingly.
“Good morning, Clark,” she whispered, then caressed my hair with her fingers.
A smile automatically decorated my face. My heart was melting every time Angela showed me this kind of gesture. Even if I only got two hours of sleep, my day got fully energized when I got a glimpse of her in the morning.
Come on, Clark. So cliché.
I teased at the back of my mind.
“Get up, my love. You are going to the office,” she reminded me and got out of bed.
She held my both hands and pulled me just to make me sit on the bed. I laughed when she couldn’t pull me. She was using her full force and it was visible on her face she was having a hard time.
I laughed again as I pulled her in my direction. She fell on top of me. She got frozen when our faces were just a few inches away. Our eyes met and then wandered from our faces down to our lips. I saw she gulped, and so am I.
We kept silent as we stared at our lips. Without uttering a word, I held the back of her neck then pulled her closer in my direction and kissed her.
At the moment our lips touch, butterflies start to roam in my stomach. It gave me joy and pleasure. I kissed her at a slow sweet pace. After a minute, I let go of our kisses and then looked lovingly at her expressive brown eyes.
“The best feeling that I ever experienced so far is to open my eyes every morning and your face is the first thing that I can see,” I whispered as I caressed her baby hair and tucked it at the back of her ear.
She took a deep breath and sigh heavily. She stared at my lips then back to my eyes.
“I love you so much, Angela. I love you so much more than you know,” I uttered breathlessly and gave her again a sweet kiss. I laid her down on the bed and went on top of her. I started to kiss her again on her lips down to her neck. I caressed all the curves of her body. Letting me do these things to her precious and delicate skin and to let me love her makes me feel I am the luckiest person in the world.
She moaned as I started touching her in her precious gem.
We made love before I got up in bed.

“Clark, eat your breakfast before you go.”
I looked at Angela and to the dining table. Kokoy and Maymay were already eating.
I averted my gaze back to her.
“Where’s Bel?” I asked when I didn’t see the latter this morning.
“She said she has something important to do this morning but she will come back soon.”
After hearing those words, I nodded. Angela approached my direction and fixed my necktie.
“You are not going to eat your breakfast, aren’t you?” she asked.
I slowly nodded at her in guilt. I heard her sigh before she let go of my necktie after fixing it.
“Look at yourself. You lose weight, Clark. Health is important-”
“Don’t worry too much, Angela. Don’t worry. I’ll take a one-week vacation just to be with you and your siblings.”
A wide smile crept on her beautiful face after hearing it. She glanced at her siblings who were busy eating their breakfast.
She averted her gaze back to me.
“Thank you, Clark. You promise, huh?”
I gave her a reassuring smile and nodded at her.
“I gotta go…” I bid goodbye and kissed her cheek.
Her siblings bid goodbye to me before I finally left the house.

Angela’s POV
I sighed as I looked at Clark walking down the road. I asked him before why he didn’t use his car and he answered that he wanted to get some morning exercise so he sold his car.
I didn’t want to believe him but Clark never lied to me. I had a doubt but I just ignored it and chose to believe him. And I didn’t see any reason to make Clark lie to me so I guess he’s telling me the truth.
When I no longer saw him on the road, I entered the house and headed to the dining. There, I saw my siblings already done eating their breakfast and now fixing their things.
“Big sister! We are now going to school!” Maymay exclaimed in excitement then kissed my cheek.
“Behave, okay?” she nodded at me in response. I looked at Kokoy who was now ready to go to school.
“Keep your eye on your sister,” I reminded him. He nodded his head and then kissed my cheek.
When they finally left the house, I cleaned the dining table and washed the plates.
After a minute passed, Bel showed up behind me.
“Angela! Be safe, okay? I’m off to work,” she bid her goodbye.
I put down the glass on the sink and then looked in her direction.
“Keep safe, Bel!”
“Yeah! Bye!”
I heard the front door open and close; indicating she already left the house. Now, I am all alone.
After cleaning the plates, I did the laundry for the neighbors. I did it quickly so I decided to cook food for lunch.
“Maybe Clark will be surprised if I will deliver him a lunch to his office, right?” I asked myself as I stirred the food in the hot pot.
After preparing all the food in the tupperware, I ate first before leaving the house.
After a half-hour of the ride, finally, I was already at Clark’s building. I walked to the entrance door and the guard approached me.
“What’s your business inside, ma’am?” he asked.
I cleared my throat before answering him.
“I am here to deliver Clark’s lunch,” I answered.
The guard looked at me from head to toe then he stopped for a second. As if he remembered something.
“I’m sorry, ma’am. Sir Clark wasn’t working here anymore.”
My forehead furrowed at what the guard said.
“Huh? Since when? He was walking earlier just to go in here to his office,” I explained and looked intently at the guard’s eye.
“I’m sorry, ma’am. Sir Clark was no longer working here for almost one month.”
I felt there was an ice bucket poured on my head after I learned something about Clark.
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, ma’am.”
My chest started to move up and down rapidly.
If that’s the case, Clark is lying to me? Why?
“T-thank you,” I stuttered as I faced my back to the building and started walking away with a heavy heart.
“Why did he lie to me?” I asked myself as I walked down the street.
A meter away, I saw a group of construction workers getting busy building a new building.
My heartbeats pound faster after I saw a familiar build of the body of a man. As I get closer and closer, I am now seeing the face of the man who was busy mixing cement under the sun.
“Clark…” I whispered as I absentmindedly dropped the tupperware on the ground.
