I shut my eyes and put both my hands on each side of my ear when he pointed his gun in my direction. I’m not ready to die yet. My siblings need me.
The next thing I knew, I heard two executive gunshots echoing in the four corners of the room. I was startled in shock and my heart pounded so hard.
Did he shoot me?
I asked in my mind while my eyes still closed. It took me a few seconds before I opened it.
My eyes widened in shock and terror after I saw the two guards lying on the floor, lifeless. They had gunshots on their heads. The thick red blood running on the floor.
I shivered in terror at what I saw. I broke into tears. Seeing three dead bodies on the floor made me feel like I was going insane. Add the crimson red blood running on the floor and was about to reach my feet. I quickly moved away from my feet just not to let the blood touch my skin.
I shakingly looked at my boss who happens to be my father. He smiled devilishly while his gun pointed at me. I shook my head many times just not to shoot.
“P-please… D-don’t….” I stuttered while my eyes filled with tears.
“P-please… I can’t leave my siblings a-alone…” I begged and cried harder.
I saw his face soften for the first time after he heard I begged. He looked at me intently then, later on, his face started to shed tears. He laughed while crying about the situation.
“You are my daughter, right?” he asked and laughed again insanely. I didn’t know if I was going to nod at him or not. My heart was covered with fear every time he moved his gun in my direction.
“Oh!” he suddenly exclaimed after he noticed the three dead bodies lying on the floor.
They are Sir Kenny and the two guards.
“They are dead?” he asked in disbelief. It looked like he was acting like he didn’t know what he did. It looked like he totally went crazy.
He took a glance at me and then back to the dead bodies.
“Why are my two guards lying on the floor, huh? And also Kenny?” he asked, then approached my direction.
I immediately shook my head as if I was trying to say I don’t know.
He stopped walking when he was finally in front of me.
I flinched when he touched my shoulder. I cried out of fear. He was looking at me while caressing my cheek, touching my nose, eyebrows, my eyes, my chin, and lastly, my hair.
My body was shaking while looking at him in horror.
“Alicia…”
My body froze after he called me by my mother’s name. His face softened then, grabbed my neck just to make my face closer to him as if he was going to kiss me.
I quickly slapped his face and pushed him away from me.
He fell to the ground, and his eyes grew wider in shock. As if he couldn’t believe that I did it to him.
“Magda?” he suddenly called.
“Where’s Alicia???” he asked and panicked. He quickly stood up. He looked at the surroundings in anticipation. Eager to see my mother in his office.
I kept on sobbing while looking at him go insane.
“WHERE’S ALICIA?!” he screamed at the top of his lungs when he didn’t see my mother. He pointed his gun in my direction again without any hesitation. His eyes were furiously staring at me.
“P-please….” I whispered.
“Let me l-leave…”
“My father….” The last word I said as the tears kept streaming down my cheeks.
He seemed frozen in his position after hearing it. It looked like he went back again to his right senses. He shockingly looked at the gun that he was holding and also at the three dead bodies lying on the floor.
“W-what’s this?!” he asked in disbelief. He took a step back while looking at the dead bodies and then, lastly, at me.
His eyes grew in horror after he saw me without any clothes covering my naked body.
“D-did I—” he stopped his words in the air when he realized something then laughed again. He looked at the gun that he was currently holding and then pointed it at his head.
I gasped in shock after seeing what he did.
“N-no…” I whispered just not to let him pull the trigger.
“D-don’t do that…”
“Don’t k-kill yourself, my f-father…” I added. There was a hint of begging in my voice.
He smiled bitterly at me while his eyes covered my tears.
“I’m so sorry… I’m so sorry…” he apologized,
“I’m so sorry… I’m so sorry… I’m so sorry… I don’t know.” He hit his head repeatedly with his free hand. The gun was still pointed at his head.
“I’m so sorry… I’m so so-” he suddenly stopped talking and stared blankly in the air. It looked like he was shifted to another mind again.
He slowly averted his gaze to me.
I was stunned when he smiled at me genuinely. A smile that I have never seen on his face in the long time I work here in the club.
“My daughter…” he gently called which made my heart break into pieces. I didn’t see he would call me that way.
“I’m sorry…”
“Hoping you’ll forgive your father…” he sadly apologized while staring at me. His stares were warm. He was looking at me lovingly as if he was recognizing me as his daughter.
“I’m so sorry if I left your mother…”
“I’m so sorry if I abandoned you and your siblings…”
“I’m so sorry if I wasn’t there when you and your siblings were growing up. I didn’t watch you grow older…” he apologized then wiped away his tears with his free hand.
“I’m so sorry….”
“My daughter…”
Bang!
I was startled when a gunshot echoed in the four corners of the room. I watched him slowly fall to the floor. Blood started dripping and it was coming from his head.
I stared blankly in the air.
Thug!
I heard the door burst open.
“Angela!!!”
Someone came over to me and hugged me tightly. I could no longer recognize who the man hugging me was and kept caressing my hair. I just kept looking in the air lifelessly.
“Angela, I’m here… Angela, I’m here… Don’t worry… I’m already here…” The man repeatedly uttered. I just felt he gave me a coat to cover my naked body then he hugged me again tightly.
“I’m so sorry Angela if I’m late… I’m so sorry…” The man beside me was now crying. I felt someone hold my hand and then stare at my face.
There was another one. A woman. Who is she?
“I’m so sorry my best friend if we got late… We are here now… We are already here…” She uttered in assurance.
When she got no response from me, she broke into tears.
“Clark…” The woman called the one who’s hugging me in the name of Clark.
I still didn’t give them any attention. I just kept on staring blankly in the air; remembering the warm smile of my father.
I was longing for my father’s love for a long time ago. And before his last breath, I felt it again.
“Thank you… father,” I whispered as my eyes started to close.
“Angela!!! Angela!!!”
I heard a siren approaching our place before I got lost in the dark.
