Kraius stiffened on his feet at the words she said. He was literally caught off guard. His mouth slightly opened to utter a word but his mind seemed shut, while his eyes still lingered to Rhezi’s painful expression. Just like before, the man was still drowned on her sadened eyes.
Together with the man zoning out was Rhezi calming herself down. She used the situation to leave Kraius dumbfounded. She strode away as fast she could, seemingly synchronizing with the rapid beating of her heart.
Rhezi was desperate to get away from him. She even scolded herself for spilling those words to Kraius. She shouldn’t have said it because it wasn’t necessary. The damage was already done afterall. She also didn’t have any plan to dig up the past, but the words just slipped out of her mouth all of the sudden.
“Rhezi!”
Kraius’ voice roared in the middle of the night, making the woman to be startled by it. He was behind her and his breathing hitched. Confusion was evident on his expression; he was confused at what he just heard. because he doesn’t even have an inkling as to what the woman meant. He wanted to know what Rhezi was talking about because if not, he would have definitely gone insane.
“Shit!” Kraius cursed. His eyes widened as he saw the woman falling down. He paced faster towards her and what immediately greeted him was the silent curses of the woman.
Kraius sighed. Seeing Rhezi helpless while holding her ankle could make his emotion change in an instant. She looked miserable with her dress scattered around her legs. Without a second thought, Kraius went to her and carried her towards the vacant sun lounger.
“Put me down!” Rhezi stubbornly protested. “Shit!” she cursed when she felt the ache from her strained ankle. It was painful and she was sure that it would be swollen. However, she still continued being stubborn with the man.
It shouldn’t be this way. Rhezi knows how weak she could be for Kraius. She also knows that the anger she felt for the man was slowly getting replaced by anxiety and fear-the main reason why she wanted to leave and hide once more. But things wasn’t as easy as before. Rhezi doesn’t know what she’s supposed to do or feel.
When Kraius finally succeeded in putting the woman on the sun lounger, he had the chance to stare at her intently. The man held her chin up, and that’s when he realized that she was crying. His expression softened as the tears on her soft face were still his weakness.
“I’m sorry,” Kraius whispered after positioning himself on the edge of the sun lounger. His hand trailed to Rhezi’s feet and took off her heels. “You shouldn’t wear this kind of stuff if you’re not used to them,” the man added.
Kraius put Rhezi’s feet on his lap. He scanned her ankle and shook his head as the red marks were evident on it. Aside from that, it was also swollen. That’s when the man had a realization that Rhezi had a bad fall earlier.
“Fuck! Stop it!” Rhezi complained when Kraius tried to massage her foot.
“I’m trying to help you, yet you’re the one getting pressed over this. Why are you so stubborn?” Kraius stared at her while his face was contorted into a frown. “I will not ask anything from you now, Chubz. Let me just help you,” he uttered before attempting to massage the woman’s foot once more.
Rhezi bit her lower lip. She looked away to wipe her tears as it kept on falling on her cheeks. Her heart was still pounding fast that it still hurt but she also tried her best to calm herself. She was helpless once again in Kraius’ sight.
Rhezi’s eyes wandered around the place that was queit. Only the faint sounds of the crickets and the soft movements of the water from the grandeur pool was heard. From their vicinity, the party couldn’t be heard nor noticed as it was being held on the other side of the mansion. It was a very deafening silence.
“You don’t need to help me. I can manage myself,” she said then looked back at him. “I never asked you anything from the beginning. Let’s just leave it that way.”
Rhezi was quick to distance herself from Kraius. She cursed as she felt the pain on her ankle and tried to make a stride despite her situation, however, she probably was being played by fate as she almost fell again. Nonetheless, the man instantaneously attended her regardless of her disagreement.
“Fuck you, Kraius!” was the only thing the woman could utter when he put her back on the lounger. Kraius sat beside her, watching her throw a fit.
“I’ve been trying my best to understand you because you’re badly hurt, but you’re so stubborn. Please, stop your curses if you don’t want me to get mad.” There was a hint of warning and threat from his voice.
Kraius looked at Rhezi. His hand lifted and made her look at him in the eye. He carefully put the hair that was covering her face onto her ear. Meanwhile, Rhezi doesn’t know what she’s supposed to do; her mouth was opened slightly but she couldn’t even utter a single word.
“Adultery is a sin but I am willing to commit it with you,” he whispered to her. “What did you do to me, Chubz? This is what you made me when you left. I should be mad at you, but damn it!”
“Leave me alone! I don’t need y-”
Rhezi’s words were cut off as Kraius quickly sealed her lips with his. He held her chin with his hand, while the other one was on the back of her neck. He was kissing her with a slow rhythm, as if he was seducing and teasing her. On the other hand, Rhezi felt numb because of what just transpired.
Kraius’ kiss was gentle. He savoured every corner of Rhezi’s lips. It was the kind of kiss that would punish but at the same time, would worship. It was a kiss that could instantly melt even the strongest defenses, and Rhezi was one vulnerable woman that easily gave in. She kissed him back. All of her inhibitions seemed to be thrown away. Her hands that was on Kraius’ chest loosened as her plan to push him suddenly changed. She grabbed his tuxedo instead and kissed him more. She wanted more.
Kraius then smirked at Rhezi’s possessiveness. He eagerly kissed her back with the same fervour and passion. His veiny hand that was on her chin trailed to her beautiful neck and down to her exposed cleavage. It was as if the man was trying to hide that part of jer body.
“You shouldn’t be wearing these stuff. You don’t know how poisonous you are in this kind of clothing,” Kraius mumbled after ending the kiss.
Rhezi blinked. She opened her mouth to say a word but she didn’t know what to utter. She doesn’t know if what the man just said was a compliment or an insult. Rhezi stared at him intently while they’re in a very intimate position, faces only inches apart.
“Momma?”
It was as if Rhezi got splashed by water after hearing that voice. She pushed Kraius rather strongly and tried to stand. The man cursed at what Rhezi did and stood up to support the latter, then, they both looked at where the little voice was coming.
Dos appeared from the mansion’s veranda, however, he wasn’t alone. He was with his brothers and Jericho. They were looking at the both of them, puzzled, but Jericho’s gaze was more intense. It lingered to Kraius and the way he was holding Rhezi on her arm.
“We’re going home,” Jericho said, breaking the deafening silence. He walked towards the two while looking at them intently. “Remove your hands off my wife, Mr. Montreal,” he said with conviction.
Kraius’ brow raised at the utterance of those words, especially when Jericho forcefully stole Rhezi from his hold. He then smirked, seeing how irritated his face was. Albeit, he chose to let her go and distanced himself a little from the woman, watching how her husband carried her in a bridal style.
“Stay away from my wife,” Jericho muttered firmly as he turns to Kraius’ direction.
“Don’t tell me what to do. Watch and keep your eyes open,” Kraius meaningfully said, staring at him with unwavering eyes.
“Please! I want to go home,” Rhezi whispered frustratedly. “Dada, please!” She moved around which the man understood. Jericho nodded, footsteps resonating as they walked away from Kraius.
Kraius watched them leave, eventually sitting down on the sun lounger. He disheveled his hair as his jaw tightened. He thought about what happened, and he would surely make Rhezi confess. By hook or by crook.
