I stared at the empty place where Crystal was standing a minute ago. The next batch lined up for the match. Jason already got out of the pool. He’s surrounded by his friends. I can’t go to him to ask for help by explaining the situation. I have no other friends with me right now. All I have left is me. How am I going to save myself from Crystal’s plan? I have to delete the photo. Footage plays a large role in my life.
” I will wait for you here,” Lexi told Crystal and crossed me as she made her way to take a seat. Crystal is inside the dressing room to keep her phone. This is it. I have to get into her locker and steal her phone after she left the room. Once she’s lined up with the other swimmers to swim, they won’t be back for atleast twenty minutes.
First, they will do warm-up exercise,
They will get prepared,
The coach will blow the whistle,
They will start swimming,
They will all reach the end,
They will kick the wall with their legs and get back to the place where they started swimming. There’s a lot of process in it which will be enough for me to do the stealing.
I can’t think of any other solution. If I can keep on thinking for a better solution, I will lose all the time I got. I approached the dressing room casually mingling with some other girls. I looked back to find Jason searching for me in the chair I was sitting earlier. I’m not going back. I don’t have time to explain any of this to him. Even if I did, Crystal won’t’ stop what she’s planning to do. Her revenge on me is more than her obsession with Jason.
I entered the dressing room. I got a glimpse of Crystal from the other side of the locker. Crystal’s standing in front of her locker, taking something and keeping her phone inside it. I watched her without getting anyone’s attention. Crystal had a hesitant look on her face. For a second, I got afraid that she might have spotted me. She started looked around and snapped her fingers at a girl next to her. Crystal got the girl’s attention, talked something and gave her lockers key. Is she her friend or maid? The way she talked looks like she’s treating a maid. Oh no, she’s coming this way. I went behind a locker and searched for mine. Atleast, I should act casual until she leaves the room. I opened my locker slowly and looked inside it. I can’t see Crystal now. I will come out of my hiding after three minutes approximately.
” Hi, do you need any help?” I heard a soft voice next to me. A girl in curly brown hair smiled at me. She’s a little taller than me.
” Nope. Thank you for asking.”
” Okay, I thought you are having a trouble in locking your locker,” she said, pointing at my hands. I have been doing everything slowly.
” No. It’s totally fine. Anyways, I have a doubt. When will the practice session for the swimmers be over? They have been practising for a longer time.”
” This is the last session. They will leave the pool in five or ten minutes and they will be a break for another fifteen minutes. Aren’t you participating?”
” No. I’m a beginner. That’s why I asked. I have been waiting for an eternity.” I said with a laugh. Maybe a nervous laugh. I’m running out of time. Ten minutes won’t be enough.
” Oh, okay. Good luck with your practice. I hope you participate once you learned swimming well.” She patted my shoulder as she knew me well. My lips barely formed a smile. Once she left, I impatiently walked towards Crystals locker. 210… 211… 212… 213…. 214. Here it is. I stood a little farther away from the locker as I spotted it. A girl is leaning right next to the locker with her arms folded against her chest. She’s the one who got the keys. How am I going to get it. Do I have to steal it or convince her to give the key to me? Well, both are difficult to do. Somehow, I choose the second option as I got an idea.
I took a deep breath and put my key inside my pant pocket. For god’s sake, I haven’t changed into the swimsuit. ” Excuse me, Can you move a little? This is my locker.” I politely asked, pointing a locker with ‘213’ number. Who knows whose locker it is?
” Oh, sorry,” she moved away from a little.
” So, why are you waiting here?” I asked as I put my hands into my pocket like I’m searching for my key.
” Well, a lot of girls gave me their key so they won’t forget where they kept it. I’m like a watchman. Well, Watchwomen.” she laughed and showed a bunch of keys. Thank god, the girl who has ‘213’ locker didn’t give the key to this girl. If she did, I would have got caught.
” Wow, that’s a difficult job to watch over everyone’s locker.”
” Oh, shit. I forgot my key. Why does it happen to me every time?” I cursed. I acted the best I can.
” It doesn’t happen to you. It happens to everyone. Search it once again or you need to ask for a spare key, girl. The incharge will get furious every time someone lost their key.” She said with sympathy.
I know what Iam trying to do. Whatever I planned till now is working perfectly. Watch me win the keys from her hands.
” Jason is waiting for me outside. I have to find my key soon. What am I gonna do? I can’t remember where I kept it.” I muttered to myself but loud enough to be heard by her.
” Jason? Are you talking about Jason? Do you know him? Are you his class? Are you his friend?” Suddenly, I got her full attention. This is what I was trying to do. Sorry, Jason, for involving you in it. I’m gonna tell you that I got saved because of your help without your presence.
” Yeah, I’m studying in his class and his close friend,”
” Wow, then you have to be popular too just like him. How could I not know you?” She said, thinking deeper over this thing.
” I’m not popular. People barely know me. So, did you ever talked with him or got his autograph. If you want, I can help you.” Please, please say yes.
” Yesssss. How could I not want it? Tell me when will I get it? I can’t wait for it.” she almost jumped on her feet.
” How about now? You can go outside and tell my name to him. I’m Emily. He might not have a notebook or pen with him so you should get it now.” I told her. I should get her out by leaving all the keys to me. I will watch over it and also steal Crystal’s phone.
” Noted. I will get that from the counter. Can you watch over all these keys? Just for five minutes. I will back soon.” She requested me. She almost forgot about my lost key. Take your time as long as want. Please don’t return early.
” Okay, give it.” My hands are waiting for the moment to get the keys.
” Thank you for your help, Emily. By the way, I’m Beck.” She said and left in a hurry. Wow. I did it. I searched the ‘214’ key and inserted it. No one is giving attention to me so I got no more problems. Plus, there’s no camera in the locker. The moment I spotted her phone, my heart is in my heart. I kept the keys in one hand and unlocked her phone. She doesn’t have a password. She must be too lazy to keep a password. Last time, I read her message to Lexi.
I opened the gallery and found all the photos of Ryder, Jason and I mixed with other photos. I don’t have time to select my photos and delete it while leaving other photos untouched. I’m deleting it all. Just one click. My hands are shaking.
