LIFE IS CHANGING
Ryder opened the door when I got dressed. I wish I could get more time with him. What are you blabbering about, Emily? I questioned myself.
” You both can’t give me any privacy. What do you want now?” Ryder asked his friends in an irritated tone.
” We need to take her home right, Ryder? Her friend must be waiting for her.” Dylan, the guy with a hazel hair said.
” I know that. I can take care of this. What you have done till now is enough.” Ryder snapped.
” You can be a little soft to them, Ryder. They are your friends,” I slowly told him, keeping my hand on his shoulder. Ryder looked at them, lost in thoughts.
” Yeah, fine. This is Dylan and he’s Jacob.” he introduced me to this.
” I don’t need to introduce Emily Collins. You probably know her after the kidnapping scene,” he said but he’s calm this time.
“Hi, sister. I’m sorry for everything that happened. Please don’t have any revenge on me for slapping you. I caught up in the moment of acting as Patrick’s friend.”
” It’s okay. I’m not the one who gets revenge on anyone, Dylan,” I politely replied.
” I’m sorry for threatening you with a knife, Riley,” Jacob said. I turned back to see who’s he talking with.
” Who’s Riley?” I looked perplexed.
” That’s the name I created. I ship both of you. So, I’m calling you Riley,” Jacob said, winking at Ryder.
” I never asked you to keep a name. Throw your brain on the dustbin and give me my phone,” Ryder snapped again.
” I like that name. Whatever.” Jacob muttered and took Ryder’s phone from the table.
” Tell me your friend’s number, sweetheart,” I leaned forward and gave Pearl’s number. She attended the call at the first ring. She must be afraid of losing me on an empty road.
” Hello, are you Emily’s friend? She’s safe here,”
” What? Where is she? Who are you? Give me the phone to her,” I heard Pearl’s panicked voice.
” Here you go,” Ryder gave his phone to me. ” I’m safe, Pearl. I will explain everything tomorrow. Ryder’s with me now. Do you call my mom?”
” I didn’t call her. What would I say to her? that I lost your daughter. Find her by yourself. Thank god. You are safe. Where are you now? Can I pick you back home?” before I could say yes, Ryder snatched the phone from me in a flash of seconds.
” I will take care of Emily. Take the purchased bags to your home, she will get it from you tomorrow. Bye,” he hangs up without even asking me.
” Hey… I’m right here standing next to you. Can’t you ask my decision?”
” Nope. I know you want to go home with me.” He shrugged his shoulders. What can I say now? I really want to go with him. Let’s move on.
Ryder dropped me at the entrance of my house in this bike. This is the second time I’m going with him on his bike. When I’m back home, I didn’t dare to tell my mom that I almost been kidnapped. I called Pearl and told her everything. She was silent till I finished speaking. She said, ‘ I will get in more trouble if I keep on going out with Ryder’. But I don’t care about that. I can’t stop seeing Ryder. I still can’t forget the moment he told that he likes me. The whole memory of Ryder and I kissing flashed before my eyes when I was about to sleep. I can’t get that out of my mind. I really like him. Many good and bad things started happened after stepping my foot on Edgewood high. I know more things waits for me till I finish high school. But I’m not afraid of it. I feel like I started living and loving my life since I came here. I’m not the girl who stays in the home every single day.
One thing comes to my mind right now, ‘ Life’s a bitch but mine’s a movie.’
The next day went well. I was talking with Pearl in the morning and joined in the conversation with Ryder, Dylan and Jacob. Dylan and Jacob are funny. They both are really entertaining. I don’t know how time went by. Atleast, I was spending some time with Jason. We both explored high school again. We roamed the whole school and got back to class at the right time. At last, the final bell rang. I’m on my way back to the entrance of the school. Jason, Pearl and I are standing near Jason’s Ferrari.
” Hey, Jason,” someone new approached him.
” Hey, dude. Welcome back to Edgewood High. How’s your holiday in Hawaii?” Jason greeted him.
” It was awesome. You can see it in my face,” he said showing his tanned face.
” This is Fred, Milly. She’s Emily and her friend Pearl, Fred.” Jason introduced his friend.
” Nice to meet you,” I politely said but Pearl didn’t give the same response.
” Is he your normal friend like Emily or some other celebrity? If yes, can I get your autograph?” she asked. Fred faked a cough and Jason hesitated to give an answer.
” Stop acting like this, Pearl,” I silently warned her.
” He’s not a celebrity. He’s my childhood friend. So, Emily, I want to ask you something,” Jason replied to her and about to ask me something. That’s when we all got another disturbance. Someone called Jason again. This time it’s not a boy. I looked back to see a girl waving at him. She has bright red lipstick on her lips. She wore too much makeup and dressed in red and white. She’s clearly not carrying a school bag. Now only she’s entering the school. The first thing she did after standing next to Jason is… Kiss him. What the….
She kissed him in public without giving damn care about anyone next to her. I don’t know what to do. I’m stuck in the place. I have no idea what’s happening here.
” Wow, your girlfriend’s back,” Fred happily said. WHAT THE HELL?
