Chapter 127

Book:Billionaire's Sweet Wife Published:2024-5-1

Irene Nadine’s POV
Perhaps it’s because I just hung up the phone, Ryan Campbell’s tone was a little bad. “Get down quickly!”
“… in a minute.”
“What does the child like to eat? I’ll book a restaurant first.”
I pursed my lips and said, “the child has eaten. You can order what you like.”
I didn’t dare to tell Ryan Campbell that I didn’t take care of the baby. I’ll explain to him when I get there.
Ryan Campbell was silent for a while. He thought that he could talk to the kid by himself later. “I’ll give you five minutes. If you don’t come down, I’ll go upstairs.”
After saying that, he hung up the phone. I’m not afraid that he will go upstairs. After all, there’s no one at home. I’m just afraid that he will be unhappy if I’m late. I don’t want to please him too much. At least I don’t dare to provoke him now. I hope that he won’t compete with me for the custody of Theresa.
Fortunately, the restaurant is not far away. I ran all the way on my high heels. When I arrived downstairs, I saw him parking at the position last night. I took a deep breath and quickly walked towards his car.
Ryan Campbell saw me running over from a long distance. I was out of breath, and my hair was a little messy.
Seeing her coming over, he opened the door and got out of the car. Without giving her time to breathe, he asked indifferently, “where is the child?”
I pursed my lips and calmed myself down. Then I looked at his face and said carefully, “I went out with my friend.”
Ryan Campbell smiled and obviously didn’t believe what I said. He said, “maybe upstairs?”
“I didn’t lie to you.”
“I am the father of the child. You have secretly taken the child away for so many years. Don’t you want me to see the child now?”
I lowered my head and pursed my lips without saying anything.
Although what he said is right, I am just selfish. I don’t want the child to contact him, and I don’t want the child to leave with him.
Ryan Campbell looked at the woman who used to be so eloquent, but now she was always timid in front of him. He gritted his teeth and took a deep breath. He opened the door of the passenger seat, grabbed her arm and pushed her into the car. Then he started the car quickly.
I was stunned for two seconds before I unfastened the seat belt sulkily. Then I looked at his side face and dared not speak rashly.
We didn’t talk to each other all the way. He drove a long way and arrived at a hotel, which didn’t seem to be a place to eat.
The car went around the hotel gate and drove into the underground parking lot.
He didn’t care about me or wait for me after getting off the car. He walked quickly towards the elevator.
Although I don’t know why he took me here, I took a deep breath, trotted in high heels to follow him and entered the elevator together.
He didn’t carefully protect me in the elevator as before, but stood in a corner alone.
My hands were clenched into fists, and my eyes were full of undisguised uneasiness.
The elevator door opened. I didn’t realize it until he walked out.
He opened a door with his room card and went straight in. I hesitated by the door. He didn’t close the door after entering, as if he deliberately left me a chance to enter.
Although I know that he just wants a child and won’t do anything to me, I still subconsciously don’t want to stay in the same room with him. It’s more to say that I’m afraid than not.
This must be his room for the past two days. He walked into the room and fetched a bottle of red wine from the wine cabinet without greeting me. He opened the bottle skillfully, grabbed two goblets with one hand and poured them separately.
I just stood in the room uneasily.
After pouring the wine, he took a look at me and then sat down on an armchair. Although he didn’t say anything, the look in his eyes just now was like an order. I leaned towards him in a daze and sat on the sofa next to him
Ryan Campbell raised his hand and handed a glass of wine to me. When I was about to refuse, he said, “don’t tell me you still can’t drink.”
He didn’t seem to give me the chance to refuse. After putting the cup at my hand, he picked up his own cup and shook it at me, as if to toast.
His attitude seemed to be too relaxed, which made me more confused. Under his gaze, I resentfully raised my glass.
I seldom drink beer. We only drink one or two glasses with Sally.
I don’t know much about wine and I don’t know how expensive the wine in the glass is. But just asking about the taste, I think it should be very strong.
Ryan Campbell kept his eyes on her face. He put the glass to his lips, closed his eyes and drank it up. Then he looked at her again.
I was stunned for a moment, and then slowly handed the glass to my mouth.
Before my lips touched the wine, the pungent smell of the wine made me frown. Then I just took a sip. The bitter and spicy taste was not good to drink.
Before I put down my glass, Ryan Campbell said flatly, “finish it.”
I looked at him and wanted to say something but stopped on a second thought. I don’t know why he did this. He said he was going to have dinner, but he took me here to drink. Did he punish me deliberately just because I didn’t bring Theresa with me?
I don’t know what I’m betting on. I closed my eyes, endured the unaccustomed smell of the wine, and poured all the wine in the glass into my mouth. It’s more uncomfortable for me than taking medicine.
Ryan Campbell refilled my glass and said, “go on.”
I don’t know why my nose twitched. I looked at him with red eyes and gritted my teeth
Regardless of whether I could bear such strong alcohol or not, I grabbed the glass without hesitation and gulped it down.
Ryan Campbell’s face flushed as soon as he saw her
When I picked up the third glass of wine he poured, my action was a little erratic, and my eyes were a little vacant, but I didn’t say a word to him that I couldn’t drink anymore.
The alcohol was not too strong. After all, it was just red wine, and he didn’t expect her to be unable to bear it so soon. Ryan Campbell gritted her teeth and looked at her unconvinced face. Even if she was very uncomfortable, she didn’t say anything to beg him for mercy. After the third glass of wine, she put down the glass and poured it on the tea table
I can barely sit up straight, my eyes flickering from time to time. Ryan Campbell picked up the glass on the tea table unhurriedly, took the bottle and slowly poured it back.
He put down the glass gracefully and sat on the sofa, looking at her.
I can only barely see what’s in front of me.
Her head was buried, and her movements and reactions became a little slow. Ryan Campbell stood in front of her, with a glass of wine in one hand and a chin in the other. He made her look at him. Looking at her blurred eyes, his smile was somewhat ferocious. “You can’t drink now? Do you feel uncomfortable?”
I saw an imperceptible hatred in his eyes, but I was too uncomfortable to respond to him.
He pinched my cheeks with his hand and pushed me away. Ryan Campbell tightened his grip and said gently, “that’s how I have been these years.”
After saying that, he handed the glass to his mouth and took a sip of the wine. Then he threw the glass casually and broke it on the ground. With such a sound, he blocked my lips and sent all the wine in his mouth to my mouth.
My struggle was more violent than just now, but it was still insignificant to Ryan Campbell. When the wine in his mouth was gone, Ryan Campbell raised his head and shook his hand hard. Then I fell on the sofa and coughed violently.
Ryan Campbell stood still and looked down at her. Such a punishment didn’t make him feel happy. Instead, he felt sad when he saw her like this.
He had been living in guilt after telling a big lie four years ago. For countless days and nights, he had relied on alcohol to paralyze himself and dispel the pain in his heart with the physical pain.
Four years later, he took the initiative to find them, but she still refused to let them recognize each other, and even refused to let him see their children. How could he not be angry?
After a while, there was no sound. Then she curled up on the sofa and fell asleep.
Ryan Campbell let out a long sigh. Looking at her sad face, he frowned tightly, as if she hadn’t relaxed since she saw him. Her face was red, which showed that she hadn’t drunk much.
He turned around, walked over the broken glass on the ground, took a thin blanket from the bed and covered it on her body. Then he took off her high-heeled shoes and put them in a comfortable posture as much as possible
After cleaning up the mess on the ground, Ryan Campbell didn’t stay with her. It was not because he didn’t want to, but because he felt annoyed. He wanted to love her, but he couldn’t make her feel at ease, and even hurt her.
He took the car key and walked around in this strange city. Was he really going to take the child away from her if she didn’t want to be with him?
He didn’t hate her too much. He wanted to find out who was right and who was wrong in the past. He wanted to make up for the loss of his mother and daughter in the past four years, but it seemed that she didn’t want to give him the chance
“What did mom do? Why hasn’t she come yet?” Theresa licked the ice cream and asked unhappily.
Arthur Mitchell put away his worried look and comforted the child, “Mom may be busy with something. She may be here soon.”
“But I want mom to be a pirate ship with me.”
“How about… I sit with you?”
No, let’s three go together. Mom is a coward. We have to protect her together! ” The child was serious and persistent, so Arthur Mitchell had to follow his heart.
In fact, he had called her two times and sent messages to her, but no one answered the phone and no one would text him. Sally White was not at home, and no one knew what she was doing.
When she left, she said there was something wrong at home. Since she was at home, nothing would happen, right?
Arthur Mitchell was worried about her, but he didn’t want to affect her mood. He kept saying that she would come soon.
He was also looking forward to her appearance, but he didn’t see her since there were so many people at the gate of the amusement park.
It was getting dusk. Lying on the sofa, I slowly opened my eyes. My head was still a little sore. Looking around at the strange scene, I was stunned for a few seconds before recalling what had happened.
She sat up and looked around, but didn’t see Ryan Campbell. The bottle and glass were gone, as if everything was just a dream.
If it weren’t for the smell of the wine in her mouth, I wouldn’t believe it was true.
I put on my shoes and left without hesitation.
I don’t know what I’m afraid of. Is it because of Ryan Campbell’s torture, or because of Ryan Campbell, who is completely different from before
When she was taking a taxi by the roadside, she took out her phone from her bag. When she saw the time, she also saw the phone call and text message from Arthur Mitchell.
