Chapter 93

Book:Billionaire's Sweet Wife Published:2024-5-1

Irene Nadine’s POV
My calm words made Ryan Campbell frown. Then he said, “anything else is okay. Divorce is not allowed.”
I sneered, “no way? How far do you want a divorce? Do you want me to die too?”
All of a sudden, Ryan Campbell’s eyes narrowed. The word “also” made him understand something. Only then did he find that his heart was so fragile that he felt a little suffocated.
But he didn’t give up and asked, “where is the child?”
His voice was hoarse and his eyes were a little unfocused, as if he couldn’t accept the fact. I was afraid that I would be softhearted under his reaction. I looked away, calmly took out a few pieces of paper from the drawer and handed them to him.
When Ryan Campbell looked at these papers, he felt as if the world was collapsing at one point one, but he felt more sorry to bear all these alone these days.
he still said, “it’s good that you are fine. You can have another child in the future. I don’t agree to divorce you. Take good care of yourself. We don’t consider the rest for the time being.”
Ryan Campbell’s words didn’t comfort me at all. He seemed to say something easy, but made me more angry with him.
Anyway, it was his child. How could he say something like that so easily.
I felt a dull pain in my heart, but I said resolutely, “I’m not discussing with you. I’ve decided to divorce. The child is gone. It seems that we haven’t known each other.”
I said calmly,
“Have you been with me for so long because of the baby?”
“It doesn’t matter anymore. I can’t fit in your life and understand. You can go wherever you want to go and be with whoever you want to be with in the future. Don’t worry that I will disturb you again.”
Ryan Campbell knew that I had been wronged during this period of time. Now that such a thing had happened, the child’s departure not only caused pain. He would even blame himself for not protecting us well, which led to this tragedy.
“Let’s talk about it when you calm down. Take care of yourself first.”
“I’m very calm now. I…”
“Irene!” He roared with anger. He didn’t want me force to leave him again and again.
Maybe it was because his voice was too loud that I felt wronged. My eyes immediately became moist. After looking at him for a few seconds, I sobbed, “I have to welcome you happily when you come back. If you leave without saying a word, I have to pretend that nothing has happened. Ryan Campbell, I really can’t.”
I pulled out the quilt and lay down on the bed, with my back to him. “You can go now. I have to rest.”
After saying that, I closed my eyes. Tears streamed down from the gap of my eyes and soaked in the pillow. I didn’t hear his footsteps and felt him sitting on the chair beside the bed.
I didn’t turn around, nor did I say anything to him. I was lying with my back to him, not sleepy at all.
I’m also struggling in my heart. Should I tell him that the child is still alive, and then give him another chance? But I’m afraid that I’ll indulge him again and again, in return for his endless wantonness. If I want to divorce him at that time, I’m afraid that he will compete with me for the child.
Ryan Campbell sat beside. Even though he was very tired, he didn’t dare to relax at all. Even if he was given a bed, he couldn’t fall asleep.
He thought i might cry in front of him, but he didn’t expect me to ask for a divorce.
He suddenly felt that the innocent little girl had suddenly changed during this period of time.
His eyes fell on the death certificate at the head of the bed again. The child’s departure was like a pair of invisible hands, tightly pulling his heart, and forcibly painful.
After a long time, I finally fell asleep, sobbing secretly on the bed.
He stood up and walked to the bedside. Then he dared to touch my head.
He couldn’t live without her, so he wouldn’t agree to her divorce. Maybe it was just that the loss of the child made her a little irrational, and he would accompany her out of the haze.
When I woke up, the nurse asked me to have lunch.
Subconsciously, I looked at the chair beside the bed. It was empty. I didn’t know when he left.
Although I had decided to leave him, I still felt something missing when I woke up and saw him not there.
I picked up the soup in front and took a sip. The taste was very familiar, not like the taste of nutritious food in the hospital.
When I was about to realize something, the nurse gave me a clear answer, “this is made by Mr. Campbell at home. I said that I would prepare nutritious food for you. He also said that you have a bad tase. You haven’t eaten much these days. It turns out that you are not used to the taste of hospital.”
I looked at the sparerib soup in my bowl and felt a little sour in my nose and heart.
I drank half a bowl and asked the nurse indifferently, “where has he been?”
“How long will I leave the hospital?”
“The doctor said that your wound has almost healed. In fact, you can leave the hospital now. But you still need to have a good rest after you go home. If you don’t have a good rest now, there will be many root diseases left.”
After thinking for a while, I said, “please tell the doctor that I will leave the hospital tonight.”
The nurse was stunned for a while, then nodded and responded.
The doctor gave me a simple physical examination and approved my request to leave the hospital tonight, but he immediately informed Ryan Campbell.
Ryan Campbell didn’t say anything. He just arrived at the hospital at four o’clock in the afternoon and asked someone to help him pack up his things.
It was raining outside and the wind was a little strong. He took a long winter coat and put it on for me.
I’m not angry with my own body. The child still needs me.
I put on the cotton padded jacket handed over by Ryan Campbell. Although I didn’t refuse his help, I didn’t show much gratitude.
Ryan Campbell put on the hood of my clothes and walked out with me in his arms. “Get in the car first.”
I just avoided his hands which were holding me and walked into the elevator alone. Every move showed that I was unfamiliar with him.
Ryan Campbell didn’t mind. He just stood behind me to protect me.
He drove the car steadily all the way home. I didn’t say a word in the car, and my eyes didn’t fall on his face from beginning to end.
“Lie down in your room. I’ll clean it up.” The house had been empty for a long time and was covered with a thin layer of dust.
I went straight upstairs. He didn’t follow me. He just simply tidied up downstairs and went to prepare dinner.
When he went upstairs to ask me to have dinner, he found that I was not resting at all, but packing.
Looking at the suitcase by the door, Ryan Campbell was a little annoyed. He asked coldly, “what are you doing?”
Without looking back, I slowly sorted out the painting at hand and replied indifferently, “move out.”
“Where can you go?” He strode forward, grabbed the thing in my hand and threw it aside. Standing in front of me, he looked down at me and said, “don’t make trouble here. Go to bed!”
I looked up at him and said, “I’m not kidding or losing my temper. I know what I’m doing now!”
“Are you leaving just because the baby is gone?” He couldn’t suppress the anger in his heart. He knew it was his fault, but no matter what, I couldn’t leave him because of it.
“Don’t you think it’s a big deal?”
“Do you think I want to do this? Do you think I am willing to lose this child?”
“Who knows what you are thinking about?”
“Why do you become so suspicious?”
I sneered, “I’m just so petty!”
He has disappeared for so many days, and there are rumors about him and Kathy Clark all over the world. Kathy Clark even came to threaten us and our daughter, saying that she is pregnant with Ryan Campbell’s child. Pretending nothing had happened and making compromise? That’s not the life I want, and I don’t need such a marriage.
Ryan Campbell took a deep breath and didn’t argue anymore. He just grabbed my wrist, trying to pull me up from the chair and said, “go downstairs to have dinner first.”
I shook off his hand, lowered my head, and tears fell. I tried to speak in a calm tone, “you eat by yourself.”
Then I picked up the draft he had just thrown aside and put it into the folder. I stood up and walked around him, dragging the box by the door to go downstairs.
Ryan Campbell followed. Seeing that I went downstairs with a heavy suitcase, he walked over and lifted the suitcase
But I didn’t let him go. Instead, I turned around and stared at him fiercely. “Let me go!”
