EPISODE 48 – CHASING MY BABY

Book:MOMMAS BOY (ENGLISH VERSION) Published:2024-5-1

FOUR DAYS have passed. Clint didn’t even call, text, or chat with Chari. There was no communication at all after that night.
On the fifth day, Clint went to visit Clyde, but he was surprised when there was no one for him to go see. He also noticed that the other things from the two were gone, so he immediately called Ben and Nick, who were in nearby areas and arrived quickly.
“Seriously, Clint? She didn’t mention anything to you?” Ben asked, still confused. ” Maybe Clyde, they just went somewhere else.”
Clint just shook his head in response.
“It seems that some of their stuff is gone. Did you check at the hospital? Clyde’s therapy?” Nick asked. “It’s not like Aunt Cha is just going to leave without telling you. Besides-Clyde is still being treated, isn’t he? He asked again.
MEANWHILE..
Chari just shakes her head quickly while Nanay Mira shows the cellphone she is holding.
“Don’t, please, Nanay Mira,” she whispered, shaking her head.
Nanay Mira just put the conversation between her and Clint on the loudspeaker so Chari could hear it.
“Nay Mira, is Clyde there?” Clint asked from the other line.
“Clint! Why? Why did you call?” Nanay Mira answered.
” Are Chari and Clyde there?” he asked again.
Chari frowned as she listened. It was obvious from her face that she was angry.
“Clint, what did you do? Where are they? They left without you even knowing? You must be very busy not to notice. What happened to Clyde?” Nanay Mira asked one fictitious question after another while still staring at Chari, who was standing in front of her with her arms folded and her face serious with just a frown.
“Please tell me if they are there because Clyde still has therapy sessions here in Manila. Please Nanay Mira. Are they there? They don’t have any other things here either. Please let me know. Please, Nanay Mira, I’m begging you.” Clint answered on the other line.
She winced when she heard what Clint said.
“Fix it Clint! What did you do? They were fine here! You brought them there! Don’t come back here without the two! I won’t accept you! ” Mama Mira answered angrily after the voice call was turned off.
Just a moment and..
“Mom? Is that, Dad, Sir Clint?” Clyde suddenly asked who was behind Chari, clutching the laptop under his arm. “Why does Grandma Mira seem angry?”
Chari, whose face was almost wrinkled from frowning earlier, smiled when she saw that her angel was there. She immediately approached Clyde.
“No, baby! From now on, Dad Sir Clint won’t come because his son Tejie gets angry when he comes to you, you need to understand that baby,” Chari said with a smile.
The boy snorted. “Why Mom? Doesn’t he know that we’re going home to Camiguin? I thought Tejie was kind. Why doesn’t he want to share Dad Sir Clint with me?” he asked with furrowed brows.
Chari carried the child to take him inside the house. “There are things, baby, that only Mom knows.” You can just trust Mommy on this one. You can continue your medication here. We don’t need him anyway. This is where we really belong, don’t we? Our house is bigger here than there! Haha! ” Chari laughed as she carried him and walked into the house from the coffee shop.
Nanay Mira just shook her head at Chari’s reaction. She could see the anger in her eyes earlier when she was talking to Clint.
CHARI’S POV
We left Manila. I gave him a few days to see if he would come back to Clyde and me during the times he and Trina were having trouble, but Clint never came. No one called or texted to even say hello. I proved to him that I could do it even without him. So, I decided to go back to Camiguin and stay away from him. I arranged all his records at the hospital and asked for a referral to Camiguin to continue Clyde’s treatment and therapy. He is quite okay, but it is sad to say that I will not send him back to school for his full recovery, at least six months to eight months before his heart completely heals.
Heal? How will he heal if I keep him away from his father, Sir Clint?
Clyde loves Clint very much. Since we arrived yesterday, he hasn’t stopped asking if he called. When will he call? I didn’t say that Clyde and I were going home. I hate Clint. I am angry with what is happening to us. I thought it would be fine when we were in Manila, but it turned out to be worse. I don’t want to and I can’t accept that Clyde and I are only second choices in his life. Maybe it’s better to stay away than for not only me to get hurt, but also my son. Just thanks for the things he helped Clyde and me with. Other than that-nothing more.
I’m ending his obligation to the child! To be honest, I was completely hurt by our last conversation. He just made it seem to me that we would never be his priority, if not his son with Trina and Trina. I was almost crushed that night. The next day, when I woke up, I immediately put everything out of my mind that Clint would come back, even though I also waited for him to visit Clyde again. I still gave myself a grace period because I was still hoping that he would come. I thought maybe I was just too busy. But what about those two to four days without anything? That means he doesn’t care anymore. I believe what is often said, “No one is too busy when you are important.”
No matter what he wants from us, he can’t bring us back. I don’t want to! I don’t want to be the second choice.
BEN AND I came from the hospital. There I learned that Mama Cha had asked for a referral to the doctor and hospital to transfer the child to Camiguin. They left and went home without even saying anything to me. Now I have also found out that Nanay Mira was lying to me when I talked to her earlier. I also went around the house after finishing. I saw that Mama Cha left the ring I gave her. Also, all the stuff I bought for Clyde. She didn’t bring any of the things I gave the two of them while they were there.
“Hey! Snap out of it! ” Ben hit me.
We were still in the studio drinking.
“What’s your plan, Clint?” Nick asked.
I just looked and smiled. Anyway, I didn’t worry that I wouldn’t be able to go to them because I knew where they were.
“Have you forgotten?” I answered Nick.
Ben laughed. “Haha! Hell yah! You have a promotion in Camiguin! ”
“I have booked a ticket for the three of us for tomorrow,” I said.
“Wow! That’s okay! To see the studio there! It looks like there are a lot of great talents! ” Nick said.
“Yes! Jaypee said there are many; the studio is always fully booked, including couriers. I still haven’t visited it since it was built! ” I answered.
Ben shouted. “Yay! Oh no! Clint is flirting again.
Ben said while throwing his closed cap at me. I don’t know, but I’m satisfied even if they leave without saying goodbye. I’m also not too sad because I know that Mama Cha and I don’t have a big problem. I will leave tomorrow and go to them. I know Clyde is looking for me. I just can’t contact them because I’m blocked by his mother again.
“Pack your things, guys! We were going on a vacation!” I exclaimed.
“Is it a wedding? Haha!” Nick continued to tease him.
I also know that the reason for their sudden departure was the last conversation Mama Cha and I had and the fact that I hadn’t shown up for a few days. I really meant everything. I knew that Mama Cha would be angry and leave for sure. I know that girl. I gave in to Trina because she sympathized with Tejie as well. I’m going to leave and go to Camiguin so I can find out who the guy is. Tejie was telling me who was with his mommy when I wasn’t around. I want to catch them in action.
I really want to get away from her and go back to Mama Cha and Clyde. Even if Tejie is lost to me, I will fight for everything just to end it all and to give the woman I love peace of mind. I’m tired of living with the girl who f**ked up my life! I’m retiring because of being a jerk!
During the few days that I didn’t see them and talk to Clyde, I proved to myself that they were really what my heart and mind were crying out for. The girl I love the most and the boy I can’t wait to hug every time I see him.
CHARI AND CLYDE’S POV
It’s midnight, but Clyde still isn’t sleeping. He was just lying down and looking out his big window while I was sitting at his study table and fixing something on the laptop.
“Why can’t you sleep yet, baby? It’s late! Staying up late is bad for you,” I said.
He answered immediately. “Mom, how is Dad, Sir Clint, doing?” Why hasn’t he called yet? Are you mad at him because that’s why you blocked him again?”
“Hmn?” Clyde’s words made me cringe.
“I’m sorry, Mom! I messed with your cell phone earlier. I couldn’t find Dad Sir Clint’s number. I was going to call him because I miss him so much,” Clyde, softly said.
I stopped what I was doing and approached him. “Baby, your Dad, Sir Clint, is not coming back. He can’t come to us here because he is already there with his family. Don’t you know that he has another family? You know, right? We both know it, baby.” I hugged him.
I saw that he sobbed and his eyes watered. What I am saying is painful for me, but it has to be done. It was hard for him to always hope that his dad, Sir Clint, would come. It hurts me to see my son hope for things that he doesn’t know when or if they will come at all.
Clyde hugged me and cried quietly.
“Shhh.. Don’t cry baby, sorry.” I immediately hugged and comforted him. I lost my mind that it was forbidden for him to feel bad because he is still in the healing stage of his surgery. “Shh.. Sorry baby, don’t cry.”
Clyde’s cries got even louder. I hugged him and stroked his back again and again. I was also nervous about what I said. I didn’t think he would be so sad. I suddenly regretted what I had done. I didn’t know that she loved her daddy, Sir Clint, like that.
“Sorry baby, sorry.”
He still didn’t stop crying. I don’t know what to do anymore because he is breathing heavily again from crying so much.
Nanay Mira and Ingrid must have heard, so they entered the room immediately.
“Chari, what is that?” Nanay Mira’s voice was loud as soon as she opened the door. Clyde was immediately taken from me. “Why is he crying like that? Is it Clint again? What the hell, Chari, how is he going to get better? If he’s like this!” she said to me, annoyed. “Shh.. Shush.. Baby.. It’s alright Clyde.”
In truth, Nanay Mira was against the fact that I went home without saying goodbye to Clint because she knew that Clyde would really be affected. She scolded me a while ago and told me to stop making excuses and think about Clyde.
MEANWHILE..
Clint and Trina are arguing again.
“Wh-what? Camiguin? What are you going to do in Camiguin, Clint?” Trina shouted.
“I’m going somewhere!” Clint also shouted.
“Who’s? Your girl?” Trina asked, pushing Clint.
“Leave me alone!” Clint answered, annoyed.
“Try to leave! I will really bring Tejie home to us and will never give you back, Clint!” Trina threatened Clint again.
Clint just continued to arrange his things.
“Wh-what? Answer me!” Trina shouted.
Clint looked over. “Do whatever makes Tejie happy, okay? If he is happy with you, with your family! Well, I’ll support you.” He said as he left the room.
Trina was left dumbfounded. She couldn’t believe what she heard from Clint. She didn’t expect all her threats today to have no effect on him.
“What the eff! It’s Chari again, for sure! “That sly girl is really a whore! ” Trina whispered as she left the room to follow Clint.
“Clint! Clint! Come on, let’s talk! No one is leaving! ” She called out loudly while walking towards Clint, who was cuddling with Tejie at the moment.
“What, Trina? Aren’t you satisfied with my answer? Want to hear more?”
