AFTER three months, Clyde is quite okay. He is now at home and recovering. His voice is still a little hoarse, but he’s getting better every day. Clint has been visiting often since Clyde was brought home. There isn’t a day that he doesn’t go there. I always remind him to be careful because Trina might find out that he had gone and slept with me. That will make her angry, for sure, and they will just fight, and Trina will surely furiously barge into my house. I also avoided trouble because of Clyde.
I broke up with Josh. Before he arrived in Manila, I told him everything about Clint and me. I don’t want to prolong the pain for him because he is a kind person, even if he is arrogant sometimes, like Jet. Jet is always being sweet to me, so Clint is annoyed. I’m also often invited out. I go with him, especially when there’s nothing to do and only when Clyde is in therapy, so I can go out. I still like Jet; he’s a good friend anyway.
So far, in the past few months, there has been no trouble. Trina and I still see each other sometimes, but now they still haven’t seen Clyde. I hear that Trina already knows that I’m staying at our old house, so I also told Clint to stay away, so there is no trouble. But one day, I was surprised when a visitor suddenly arrived. Clyde and I are currently in the backyard eating.
“Wait baby, there is someone,” I said.
Clyde just nodded and continued eating.
Before I even got close, Trina and Maggie entered the yard because the gate was just open and they just had to push it to enter.
“Hi Chari! Haha! Surprised?” Maggie said immediately.
I saw that they had a boy with them who was about the same age as Clyde.
“Tejie, say hello to Mama Cha. She’s your dad’s mommy,” Trina said to the boy.
The boy greeted me, “Hello, Mama Cha.”
He immediately came to me and kissed my cheek. I smiled as I watched the boy. “Is he? Clint’s Tejie?” I asked.
“Yeah! Clint’s son! Isn’t he handsome?” Trina said.
“Yeah! He’s so cute and – wow, the skin! But – ” I didn’t say anything more. I just noticed that the boy’s eyes were narrow and he looked like someone I know. It’s like something suddenly played into my mind that didn’t come in on purpose.
“Ah Chari, we brought something for your son. Where is he?” Maggie asked.
Until suddenly..
“Hello,” Clyde said softly in a low voice, now standing behind me.
“Ugh! Is-he’s your son?” Maggie stuttered. Shock was evident in his eyes. She was still staring.
“Is he? Your son, Aunt Cha?” Trina also asked, raising her left eyebrow.
“Ah yes! Clyde, baby, come here, meet Aunt Maggie and Aunt Trina,” I said.
“Hello,” Clyde said. He even peeked at Tejie, who was behind Trina. “Hi, I’m Clyde. You are?” He asked with a smile.
Tejie smiled and waved at him. “I’m Tejie,” he answered.
I smiled at both of them while the aunt just stared at Clyde. I don’t wonder why they react like that. I expect that when they see my son because he looks so much like Clint.
NIGHT..
CLINT AND TRINA’S POV
After dinner, I immediately went up to the room.
“Ha! Clint, baby, you said you sold your house?” Trina immediately asked me as soon as I entered.
I kept frowning. “Huh? Why?”
“Your house with Mama Cha? Yes, baby, I thought you had sold it already.”
“I just sold it. I don’t even know who bought it! ” I said. I immediately activated my brain because it seemed that this woman already knew something and was asking me again. She kept on asking about things connected with Mama Cha.
“Really? So you didn’t know that Aunt Cha bought it? Huh, baby?” Trina said with a smile.
I just looked at her. “Mama Cha? How did you know?”
“Do you know that Aunt Maggie and I went there earlier? Auntie told me a while back that she was there with her son,” she answered immediately.
“Huh? What did you do there? Trina! Seriously? Again? Didn’t we talk about not bothering Mama Cha because she has a life of her own? Huh? Are you still stalking her? Can’t you move on?” I raised a voice.
Trina laughed at my reaction. “Wait, baby! Don’t be mad; we just visited her and I even took Tejie with us. We met his son, Clyde, and I swear to God, Clint!” She paused, “the boy looks just like you! From his eyes, nose, and face! Even his hair is long! I swear, you better go and look! Haha! You might be surprised!”
I’m speechless.
“How many years has Aunt Cha been gone? Eight, isn’t it? She was pregnant when she left!
“What the hell is that, Trina? How did you know she was pregnant when she left? Then! Please don’t bother her! We talked about that before, didn’t we?” I shouted. I’m really annoyed.
She stood up to come to me. “Come with me there sometime, so you can see the boy! You’ll be surprised, for sure, Clint. Or maybe,” she smiled, “I don’t need to take you because you’re going there and possibly sleeping too,” she said to me as she left the room.
I just shook my head. I know that there is something in everything she tells me. And I also feel that she is following Mama Cha and that she is definitely with her Aunt Maggie.
THE NEXT DAY.
I left the house early because Clyde’s scheduled for therapy and he will be hospitalized for two days.
“Is everything there, Ma?” I asked Mama Cha, who was walking ahead of us out of the gate.
“Yep! Are we going to use your car or your car?” She laughed and asked me with a wink. She’s referring to those cars I bought for her and Clyde.
I just smiled at her while shaking my head. This girl is tricky! I’m carrying Clyde, and she will be the driver.
“Ma, is Clyde okay? Is he hot?” I asked. My neck was stuck and I felt like it was hot.
Mama Cha immediately came over and groped Clyde. “What? He has a fever.” She said, kissing Clyde’s forehead.
I could see how much Mama Cha loved Clyde. I also love the child so much that I try to give all my time to him as much as I can.
“Come on in, maybe he got tired yesterday when Tejie and him played,” Mama Cha said.
“Mom, Tejie is nice, he likes games, and he doesn’t know how to dance,” Clyde said.
“Really, baby?” Mama Cha quickly replied.
“Yes, he is also sick. He wants to sleep over here with us so that we can talk much longer,” Clyde said again.
Mama Cha and I just looked at each other.
“Well, next time, when you’re better,” I answered.
Clyde just nodded. We sat in the backseat. I still hold him dearly. I love this boy very much and my feelings cannot deny that.
“You have two days of vacation with Doc Baby, huh? Be a good boy, okay?” Mama Cha said.
Before even starting the car, she kissed Clyde and me. This girl is really sweet.
CHARI AND CLINT were released from the hospital at four in the afternoon. The two are currently on a trip and are stuck in traffic.
“Gosh, Clint! You see that?” Chari suddenly said as she peeked outside.
“Which one?” Clint answered quickly.
“There’s still traffic. I’m hungry. I want coffee. Take me there!” Chari said, pointing outside.
Clint peeked in there. “Huh? That cafe? Their coffee is not good! Believe me! I’ve tasted it!” he said.
“That coffee shop looks interesting! Hurry up, turn right now!” Chari said hurriedly.
“Don’t stop! Aren’t we going to the hotel? Just have coffee there! We’ll be there for two days! You can have coffee as much as you want, Ma,” Clint strongly refused.
Chari hit his shoulder. ” Um! That’s it! Hurry up! I’m interested in the shop, not the coffee!” she said with a frown.
“What the hell is that, Ma?” Clint answered, but he also turned around and did nothing when his Mama Cha frowned.
Chari wanted to go to a coffee shop, and they immediately parked. When she got out of the car,
“Hey! Really? Staying here?” Chari asked, then shut the car door.
Clint didn’t move because he was still sitting while Chari was already outside the car.
“I’ll just stay here. I don’t want coffee. You just come in, Mom.” Clint said, still scratching the back of his neck while his lips twitched and he was obviously irritated.
“Come on, ! I hurry up!” Chari said, while banging on the car door.
“Ouch! What the hell is it with this girl? Tsk! I hope we don’t cross there – shit! Not a good day! I think I’m gonna piss,” Clint whispered, annoyed, but he walked out of the car to follow.
Upon entering, Chari was immediately greeted by the crew who were at the front door. She also walked ahead of Clint, who was slowly walking behind her. Chari didn’t care because she was interested in the coffee shop, where she also loved doing business.
But a little while later, and..
“Clint? Oh my God! It’s you!” the woman’s voice was so loud.
Chari turned around and was a few meters away from Clint. She saw that a beautiful woman with long hair greeted Clint, who was now cuddling with him. A very pretty Chinese woman, sexy and tall. Chari made a face and just glanced at them, then continued walking ahead.
“Clint! My God! How are you? Who are you with and what evil wind drove you here? Haha! Haven’t you already cursed this place? Haha!” The woman who was talking to Clint laughed loudly as she continued to cling to his arm. She can’t deny the joy of seeing Clint.
Clint still couldn’t move. Chari, on the other hand, went straight to the cake section, ignoring Clint and the beautiful girl. She approached the shelf and looked at the cakes there, because she really likes cakes.
Until..
“Shit! Is that Sir Clint?” said a member of the cake section staff.
“Yes! He’s still as handsome as ever! Oh God! He’s still hot!” One said, enthusiastically showing so much admiration for Clint.
“His hair is still long! Ma’am, Lissie will fall in love with him again! For sure!” said the other again.
Chari couldn’t make a good choice because of what she was hearing. She was irritated by the two staff members who were there and kept giggling because they liked Clint.
“Oh! Maybe they will get back together! Isn’t Sir Clint almost going to be Ma’am Lissie’s husband? Why did they break up?”
“Yes! Ma’am Lissie had a miscarriage. That’s why they break up and Sir Clint’s fake wife is evil! If they were together again now! They will be the prettiest couple ever!”
Chari was startled by what she heard. She glanced again at Clint, who was being pulled closer to the table by the pretty woman. Now she knows why that woman was very happy to see him.
“Yah! Trina, wasn’t she evil? She’s a brat! She can’t do anything about her hot hubby, and besides, Maam Lissie told us that they are not married and not getting along well. That is why Sir Clint is cheating.”
“Ah yes! It’s a pity that Ma’am Lissie’s pregnancy didn’t happen. I’m sure their child will be as pretty or handsome as the parents.”
“Yes, you think Sir Clint is that good in bed. That’s why Ma’am Lissie was so crazy over him. Hihi!” One said, in a whisper.
A little while longer and Chari couldn’t take it anymore. She couldn’t take hearing any more details about their love story, so- “Ehem! Are you done gossiping?” She asked seriously. “Because I’m drooling over this cake here! You’re a clerk, right? Not a storyteller, I guess. I almost slept here listening to your stories. And it was the greatest love story ever, promise!” She said to the two staff members who were there with an anti-pathetic attitude while raising their eyebrows and looking at both of them.
“Oh Ma’am! I’m sorry!” One apologized.
“Ma’am, we are so sorry,” she whispered after finishing.
Meanwhile..
The woman invited Clint to sit down first. Clint also sat down even though he was restless because his attention was on Chari at the counter. He saw that she had ordered a coffee and two pieces of chocolate donuts after sitting opposite where he and the woman were sitting. She even raised an eyebrow at him, then simply snorted and pointed at the beautiful woman he was talking to.
“Tss! This lady is unpredictable! And she really eats! The hell!” Clint simply whispered.
Chari just smiled while watching him, not knowing what to do. She kept on smiling and teasing Clint, who was uncomfortable by that time.
“Are you okay, Clint?” The girl he was talking to noticed that he was hesitant.
“Huh? Yes!” he was startled.
“How are you? You haven’t changed! You’re still as handsome as before.”
“You too, Lissie, don’t seem to have changed, you’re still beautiful. How are you? Are you married?” Clint said to the woman he was talking to while looking at Chari, just smiling at him.
I haven’t entertained since we split up. You know- it’s very hard to forget you,” the woman said softly.
Chari and Clint looked at each other. It pissed him off more and more that she just continued with a silly smile.
“Ah, Lissie, why don’t you have a husband yet? We’ve been separated for a long time! It’s been almost a year. You must be forgetting what happened to us. Move on, Lissie.” Clint said, glancing at Chari again.
Chari just listens while enjoying her doughnuts.
“I don’t know, Clint, I can’t forget you! Are you and Trina still together? I’m sorry-I’m still emotional. With whom are you? How did you end up here? You cursed this place, didn’t you? You said you would never come back here because you didn’t want to see me,” the woman said seriously.
“W-what, Lissie? What’s the matter? It just so happened that I was with a coffee addict. She saw the shop, so we stopped!” He saw that Chari had run out of food.
Chari shouted at the same time. “Miss! Can I have either two of these?” She called the service crew while holding up the cake plate.
Clint just patted his forehead and shook his head. “What the f**k? Order more!” he whispered.
Chari made a simple smile while looking outside the window of the coffee shop.
“Can I have your number, Clint? My clients are still asking about you if you are still teaching dance. Formerly from your promotion,” said the woman Clint was talking to.
And that’s why Clint doesn’t want to go there. He’s avoiding someone. It was none other than the beautiful woman he was talking to, who was the owner of the coffee shop, with whom he had previously been in a relationship.
Chari is still teasing and enjoying it. The donuts are about to be eaten again, and Clint is panicking.
“The f**k Ma!” Cut it out! Let’s go!” Clint gave Chari a snappy look.
