Sabrina’s POV
“It’s hard. It was easier with him being in another realm but here, on earth? I can feel him. Athena and I are trying so hard to resist but my goddess, it gets harder each day!” I say.
“Little moon, you know it took me a very long time to give your father a chance? He was the ultimate playboy and I saved myself so I was really upset that he did not do the same. I punished him for years without any intimacy, just friendship and it actually helped us in the long run.” Mother says to me.
“Are you saying I should be friends with that boy?” I ask, flabbergasted.
“Yes. Listen, the more you fight this bond, the stronger it will get and the crazier it will make you. I understand you love Xander and you might feel like you owe him but your sanity is at stake here.” Mother says to me.
“I agree with mom Sab. Just be friends, maintain a distance from each other so you can keep the intimacy on zero but please talk this over with Xander first.” Josey says over the phone, on speaker.
“Where is my Xander anyway?” I ask looking at mother.
“He is with your father. They are having a man to man moment.” My mother says and I immediately panic.
“What? Hunter is going to tell him to leave me! I need to go Josey.” I say but my mother grabs my hand, pulling me closer to her.
“Have a little faith in your father please.” Mother says to me and I relent.
“Are you still there Sab?” Josey calls out.
“Yes. I’m told to have a little faith.” I say and Josey chuckles.
“Jeez, if our very own moon goddess has little to no faith in her wolves, how can we ever have any?” Josey says and I stick my tongue out at the phone.
My mother cracks up in to laughter with Josey, as I just fold my arms looking at my mother.
“She’s folding her arms, isn’t she? Come now Sab.” Josey says over the phone.
“Just go do something. I’m putting a stop to this teasing.” I say and Josey let’s out a sigh.
“Fine! Let me go spend some time with my two mates because the moon goddess thought I deserved it.” Josey says and I place a hand over my heart.
“Ouch! My heart… play nice little sister.” I say and my mother sits here just smiling at our usual banter.
“Bye mother, bye Sab. Love you guys.” Josey says and the line goes dead.
“I love what you and Josey have. I wish I’d had that growing up. I didn’t even have a lot of friends up there as most girls hated me.” My mother says and I look at her quizzically.
“Why did they hate you?” I ask.
“Every other day a different boy would bring me flowers or gifts. Nobody cared that I was mated to your father, they wanted me. The number of fights your father has been in because of that, my goddess!” My mother says and I shake my head in disbelief.
“We honestly need to do better as girls.” I say and my mother chuckles.
“Imagine Xander giving me flowers in front of you even though you both know you are true mates. I can’t be mad at those girls really, I’m just glad Hunter did not do his playboy ways in front of me.” My mother says and I scoff at her.
“Wait what? That’s really not different. He knew he belonged to you and yet he played around? Sounds exactly the same to me.” I say and my mother rolls her eyes at me.
Lucas comes running towards us. Mother and I look at him, waiting to hear what he had to say.
“Sorry to interrupt Luna, you said to tell you when Max arrives. He’s here.” Lucas says to me.
“Thank you, Lucas.” I say and he nods his head and leaves.
I stand up and straighten myself out. We were sitting in my garden, on the grass.
“You coming mother?” I ask her and she shakes her head no.
“I’ll let you deal with your other mate alone. I have a feeling you are going to have your hands full today.” She says before cackling away, walking around my rose bush.
What does that even mean? This woman was always so cryptic.
I walk in to the house and up the stairs to the alpha floor, where my baby Adrastos was.
I walk in to find him with Kate, my new nanny. He was sleeping as Kate watched TV.
“Has he been good?” I ask and she nods at me, standing up to go for her break.
It has been six months since Adrastos birth and boy was my kid growing. No more just eating and sleeping, he was growing to be more and more active.
Xander walks in, interrupting my thoughts. He walks up to me to kiss my cheek, behind him was Maximus Forrest.
