Just outside his office, she met Merry walking towards her with another employee. They were busy checking some files.
Oh!, Merry had come into Liam’s office, telling him about his schedule. They had exchanged pleasantries there and that was how she knew merry.
“Uhm.. Excuse me Merry!” Jasmine stopped her.
The other employee moved away from them a bit.
“Yes Mrs Nolan?” Merry answered.
“I want some coffee please, where can I get it?”
“Mr Nolan’s personal coffee stand is just over there” She said pointing at a particular direction.
“Oh okay thanks”
“I’ll go ahead ma’am” Merry said.
“Sure!” Jasmine watched her leave.
She walked over to the coffee stand… took a cup and filled it with the hot, steamy coffee.
Walking back to Liam’s office, she felt someone drag her to a corner, covering her lips, preventing her from yelling.
It’s a good thing the coffee didn’t spill over.
She stared at whoever it was with wide eyes… She knitted her brows together as she saw whoever it is.
“Don’t freak out!” He assured by her, slowly removing his hands from her mouth.
“Martin?” She gritted out.
“Yeah! it’s me Jasmine!”
“What do you want?” She asked.
“I just want us to talk…” .
“There’s nothing left for us to talk about…” She said and made to leave but Martin blocked her path. .
“Look, I’m deeply sorry Jasmine… I know you’re married but it isn’t too late. Just come with me,, I’ll make up for the times we lost… I’m gonna take good care of you… We’re gonna go far away” Martin ranted.
“Can you just listen to yourself? It’s too late now Martin… I’ve outgrown the love I once had for you”. .
“Fine! You don’t love me… I’m not gonna stop Jasmine, I’m gonna get you back. I’m gonna make you love me again” He warned. .
“Try all you want! But I don’t belong to you…. I belong to someone else and that’s Liam” She said then walked away from him.
Opening the door to Liam’s office, she walked in. He was still so engrossed in his work. She placed the coffee on the table and that got his attention.
“You might need this..” She said walking to his back and began to massage his shoulders.
He relaxed a bit, loving the magic of her fingers on his shoulders.
“How did you manage to get the coffee?” Liam asked.
“I inquired from Merry…. Besides you’ve been working so hard for hours now… so I decided to get you something. I mean, my baby is so hard working that he forgot his wife was just sitting at the corner all this while” Jasmine said making him smile.
“Feeling bored?” He asked.
“Not really!” she said still massaging his shoulders softly.
“Don’t worry sweetheart! When we get home, I promise to give you all the attention you need… trust me! You’re going love it” He said with a smirk.
Jasmine’s shrugged… She wonders the type of attention he meant!
“Just what I needed sweetheart!” He mumbled, picking up the coffee.
Jasmine smiled as her mind wondered back to Martin.
Is she supposed to tell Liam about it? She shouldn’t take Martin’s words seriously right? with that, she decided not to let Liam know about it.
Few weeks later….!
Things have been going on smoothly for Jasmine and Liam. They’ve been living like real couples.
To say They’ve grown even closer to each other this past few weeks. It hasn’t even crossed their minds the main reason why they actually became a couple.
Jasmine could feel her body shake as a result of cold. She turned and looked at the window to see it’s tightly shut. Then why is she shivering?.
Looking down at herself, I realized she’d mistakenly pushed the duvet off her body while sleeping.
Grabbing it, She quickly pulled it over her body and snuggled into it’s warmth.
Closing her eyes again and letting nature take over. She just wanted the day to run fast… She feels incomplete,, so incomplete not to have Liam here with her.
Yes! He’s on a two days trip to bedok south… Nolan’s Empire are on a goal to create a mobile technology for the old people’s home.
And Liam had to go with them… He f*cking had to. Isn’t he supposed to? I mean he’s the CEO and he f*cking had to be there.
She groaned when she heard a knock on the door.
“Ma’am! Someone’s here to see you!” The maid announced.
“Ma’am!” She called again, knocking on the door. It’s kinda annoying to Jasmine,, Everything’s just so annoying since Liam left to Bedok south yesterday.
Now she still has to spend this f*cking whole day alone until tomorrow… but it seems damn long and the day isn’t running fast… Glancing at the clock, it’s just 11:30am…. Hell!
The most annoying part is that there isn’t any mobile signal there at Bedok south. The network are kinda poor. She hasn’t heard his voice for a day now and it’s kinda choking her.
“Ma’am!!… Someone’s here to see you!” The maid said again, knocking on the door.
“Okay.. okay.. I’ll be there in a sec,, You can leave now” Jasmine yelled a little bit.
She heard the maids footsteps retreating.
Getting up from the bed, she packed her hair into to a ponytail. She stood up and walked out of her room.
“Hey Adam!” She called sounding a bit tired and her voice… rough.
“Hey honey! Are you okay?” Adam asked when he noticed her wearied look.
“Yes!… I’m Fine” She simply answered sitting down beside him.
“You’re voice, it doesn’t sound right…”
“Yeah! I kinda just developed a sore throat” Jasmine said clearing her throat.
“Okay.. What am I gonna call this…. Missing Liam sickness?” Adam teased.
“What are you talking about Adam?”
“You clearly miss him don’t you?” Adam asked wagging his brows.
Yes!! She badly wanted to scream..
“I don’t… Sneezes…. know…. sneezes…”
“You’re not okay Jasmine!” Adam said.
“I’m fine… trust… Coughs.. me… coughs again”
Adam felt her forehead… “Shit!” He cursed…. “Your burning up with fever!”
“I’m gonna be fine…. sneezes…. it’s no big deal” She manages to say.
“No you’re not…” Adam said… “Maids!!” He called out.
“You don’t have to!” Jasmine managed to say as she leaned on the sofa. Now she could feel it,, she’s seriously burning up.
Adam glared at her indirectly signalling her not to argue with him.
Two maids rushed out..
“Prepare some mint soup for her…. And you, go get some pain killers then get a bowl of water and a towel”
The maids ran off at his order…
“You’re burning up Jasmine!” He said, feeling her forehead again.
One of the maids ran back with a bowl of water and a towel.
“.. I’ll go get the pain killers!” She said.
“And a blanket please;” Adam added.
Jasmine doesn’t know what exactly is wrong with her… She was perfectly okay this morning… and now…
Adam placed the wet towel on her forehead… She closed her eyes as he tried to calm her temperature.
A maid came back with the mint soup….
“Here Jasmine,,, Have this” Adam said, scooping some into the spoon.
Jasmine shook her head negatively as she grimmaced.
“I don’t… Coughs… want… coughs again… it”
“Don’t be stubborn Jasmine… You aren’t a baby” Adam said, bringing the soup close to her mouth but she rejected it again.
Adam signaled the maid to place the blanket on the next sofa.
“C’mon… it’s getting cold” He urged her but she pushed his hands away slightly.
“Okay! You’re really getting stubborn…” Adam said, picking up his phone.
“I’m gonna call Liam and tell him what you’re doing…”
Jasmine didn’t even bother, She knows it isn’t gonna connect through. Somehow, she really wish it works… She badly wanted to hear his voice.. even just for a sec,, that would make her feel better.
“Hey Liam!” She heard Adam said… It took her a whole guts not to believe him… what if it’s just a trick.
“Its Jasmine, she isn’t feeling too well… and she’s proving so stubborn” Adam said after a while.
She isn’t hearing a thing, so she isn’t gonna believe him.
“Okay!… Here Jasmine, he wants to speak with you!” Adam said stretching the phone to her.
This is becoming serious,, why would Adam want her to speak to him.
Opening her eyes and glancing at the phone,, she saw it actually connected.. He was actually speaking with Liam.
Adam placed the phone on her ear and upon hearing his voice,, Her body melted and she felt relaxed.
“Hey sweetheart!” That name she’d missed… She found herself smiling.
“Liam?” She called faintly.
“How are you feeling? Adam told me about it” Liam said.
“I’m okay, it’s no big… sneezes… deal”
“You’re not okay sweetheart! I’m sorry I’m not there with you but I wish I am. I miss you so much Jasmine” He said making her smile.
“So, please do as Adam says… I’ll be back tomorrow and once I’m back, I’m gonna cuddle you all night”
“You won’t leave me and go on a trip again?”
“I won’t… I’m gonna spend the whole with you sweetheart! But promise you’re gonna take the medications.. For my sake!”
“I will Liam.. Just come home quick” She said in a weak voice.
“Once I’m done, I’ll head home Immediately…. Okay?”
She nodded
“Okay!…”
“I lov…. Bye sweetheart! We’re going out of network coverage again.” Liam said.
“Bye Liam… ” Jasmine replied as Adam disconnected the call.
Jasmine couldn’t help but smile as she felt relived…. She felt happy. It’s a good thing Adam was able to reach him.
