Chapter 90

Book:Alpha's Revengeful Mate Published:2024-5-1

POV: Daina
Dason departed days ago.
It seemed like a gloomy fog had descended over the group, particularly Jeric.
He looked to have aged quickly.
I texted Dason, hoping for a response about my uncle.
“Dason! When you see this, text me. ”
“Alice is a cunning she-wolf. Whatever occurred was part of her strategy to drive you away. Please return soon. We’re concerned.”
“Dason?”
“What’s wrong?”
I reread all my mails to Dason.
Had Dason died? She’d been gone for days.
She was female.
Dason’s whereabouts were unknown.
Restless, I asked Jeric if we could do more.
I rang his study’s doorbell.
Enter.
Internally, Jeric spoke.
When I opened the door, he was brooding about pack issues.
Jeric has been in his studies since Dason departed.
From the dark bags under his eyes, I could tell he hadn’t slept in a while.
We knew he was doing this to stave off melancholy.
“Dason contacted you, Jeric?”He sighed.
Maybe she answered when she calmed down.
“Daina, can you help me find her? I haven’t heard from her in days. I need to leave the Moonlight Pack. Becoming Alpha isn’t as vital as finding Dason.”
Jeric regarded me.
He had dull eyes, sunken cheeks, and untidy hair.
The sight broke my heart.
“If you want to seek for Dason, I won’t stop you. But you must address the matter with Alice first so you can explain everything to him when you locate her.” I relented.
He might go find Dason in person.
He’d given her his heart.
I was also concerned about my pal.
“Don’t worry. I’ll settle this shortly. I’ve been worrying about Dason, wondering whether she’s safe.”
“Everything will be alright, Jeric. I’ll go see Stephan Buther later. HELP! “Jeric was upset.
Jeric nodded slowly and hoped.
“Alas!

I groaned and headed to the garden, where I spotted Stephan Buther waiting.
“What’s up, honey?”
I hugged him.
“Roselily Pack?”
My attendants found out that Alice stayed in Roselily Pack previously. She appeared close to the Alpha there, and I have images of them together.
While speaking, Stephan Buther showed me images.
In one shot, Alice cradled a young werewolf named Bruce.
They looked like a trio.
Maybe Bruce is Roselily Pack’s Alpha’s son, not Jeric’s.
I think whatever Alice is concealing may be in these images, honey.
“Please don’t worry about them.
I’ve also summoned the Roselily Pack Alpha.
Soon, he’ll approach Moonlight Pack.
He may then face Alice.
I thanked him, “Honey, you’re a genius.”
“I don’t want to disappoint you, so don’t get your expectations up,” Stephan Buther said.
I agreed.
After considerable deliberation, I decided to raise another issue.
Jeric informed me he wants you to be his Alpha inscoffeed. He doesn’t want to live an ordinary life with her, therefore he’s giving you the role. What do you think?
Jeric said he didn’t want to be Alpha.
I assumed he cherished Dason above everything else, even if it meant resigning.
It was important, therefore I couldn’t decide alone.
I asked Daina what she wanted.
“I don’t agree. This is about the future of the Moonlight Pack. My uncle is a fine leader and the elders trust him. If he suddenly passes over the job to me, I doubt the elders would be satisfied. Plus, the Moonlight Pack has never had a female ruler before.”
After thinking , Daina said seriously.
“I suppose he’s concerned about Dason. Once he finds her, he’ll be able to think clearly.”
Who cares if you’re a girl? You’re just as good as Jeric, if not better.
Jeric’s notion didn’t surprise me since I always admired Daina’s talent.
My friend was skilled.
I trusted her.
“Never mind.”
She waved off.
Let’s go search for Dason right now. I’m concerned about her since we haven’t heard from her in a while.
Daina entwined her fingers with mine and pulled me out.
Together, we went to the Moonlight Pack’s perimeter to recheck surveillance recordings.
We asked everyone we met about Dason’s location.
In vain.
Dason vanished without a trace.
“Can we prepare a notice offering a prize for anybody who can help us discover Dason? We can link her photographs to it,” I suggest to ted.
Daina nodded.
We started immediately.
The notification was posted across the pack’s area, anyplace Dason may travel.
On our journey back to the Moonlight Pack, we traveled through a deep forest.
Something wasn’t right here.
“Daina, beware of ambushes.”
I drew Daina to me.
Sure enough, werewolves appeared.
Armed, they’d been hiding in the jungle for a time.
We were encircled in a flash.
Despite being outnumbered, Daina and I fought them.
Our united power defeated the werewolves as we were tiring.
Only one of them managed to flee.
I grabbed him by the collar.
Who sent you?
He was trapped and couldn’t speak.
He attempted to escape, but failed.
Stop him from self-harming!
Daina shouted when she watched him poisoning himself to keep secrets.
I seized his jaw and forced him to spew poison.
“If you want to suffer less, answer my question. Otherwise, I’ll make your life a living nightmare.”
As I talked, I tossed him to the ground and kicked him.
He was the last murderous werewolf alive.
I couldn’t just let him die.
Say!
I yelled and kicked his chest wound.
Blood sprayed.
I felt his vital power draining from my foot.
Please spare my life. Your uncle instructed us to kill you by whatever means possible. We had no alternative!”
He broke.
It was all Oku’s fault they attacked us.
That jerk! After killing our father, he attempted to murder me.
His craziness! I stunned the werewolf and approached Daina.
“Are you hurt?
I saw Daina’s gash as soon as I finished speaking.
It wasn’t serious, thankfully.
Daina said, “Let’s throw him in the dungeon so he can testify against Oku.”
“Okay,” we’ll also treat the wound.
Oku had done so many heinous things. He deserved to pay the consequences. “I led Daina out of the jungle. I decided to let this werewolf live a few more days. After all, Daina was correct. I could use him in my goal to defeat Oku once and for all.”
POV: Alice
After much effort, I eventually convinced Dason to go.
Jeric and Daina were looking far and wide for Dason, which depressed my spirits.
