My gaze lingered on his lips before I grabbed a glass of water and offered it to her.
“Feed me,”Dason held my arm and eyed me attentively.
I had to place the glass rim on her lips and tilt it gently to give him water.
After Dason drank the water, his face was crimson.
As soon as I set down the empty glass, he leaned against me.
Not knowing what to do, I froze.
“It’s great to see you, Allen.”
Dason squinted and grinned at me like he was inebriated.
“Don’t abandon me, Allen”
His blunt remarks made me cough so hard.
“Are you Daina’s uncle, Allen?”
Leaning on my chest and looking up at me, Dason massaged my eyes and eyebrows.
I cocked my head.
“Perhaps, but I don’t remember her. But everytime I see her, I get the impression we were close previously.”
“Yes, that must be true,” Dason agreed.
He touched my lips with his finger as she spoke. I was going to die.
My eyes widened and I tensed.
He surprised me by being so forward. So anxious, I didn’t know what to do.
A part of me wanted to shove him away, but I didn’t want to spoil the moment.
With his face near to mine, I could smell his lovely skin, which intoxicated me.
“Dason…”
Instinctively, I intensified the kiss.
But when his tongue reached me, it was like a bolt of lightning that shocked me to my senses, leading me to coffeer away from the kiss and stand up.
“Don’t do that again, Dason,”
Panting, I looked at his crimson face.
Several long breaths helped me calm down.
“Allen, you want to be close to me, right? It was good.”Dason draw me back.
“I felt your response. We’re mates. We should be together.”
“Dason, don’t hurry into anything. Give me some time, okay?”
“Fine, but remain with me tonight. You can’t leave this ward,”
Dason spat at me forcibly.
“Will you leave me alone? ”
“I’ll remain with you”With a groan, I cautiously sat on the bed.
Dason cuddled into my arms happily.
Dason and I spoke till we became tired.
Unknowingly, I fell asleep holding Dason in my arms.
POV: Daina
I slept at Stephan Buther’s again last night. We had breakfast the following morning.
Before heading to the training site, I’ll check on Dason.
Stephan Buther was my patient.
OMG! My uncle was cuddling Dason in bed.
I told Stephan Buther to be quiet. Silently, we left the ward.
Once we left the hospital, I remarked, “Stephan Buther, I never believed my uncle would find love.”
“He must like Dason”
Dason is my best friend and may be my future “sister-in-law”. I’m glad to see them get along.
“If I’m free later, I’ll check at the training field.”
Before saying farewell, Stephan Buther checked his watch.
We part after one last embrace.
I was astonished to see Rona was at the training site, talking to recruits.
“Good morning.”
“Daina!” Rona grabbed my hand.
“I heard you’re the greatest trainee here. Jason gave us permission to practice together today. I want to spar with you to see how powerful you are.”
I didn’t want to spar with her, but Jason agreed, so I had to comply.
I tried not to harm Rona, a princess.
After a few rounds of fists and kicks, I observed Rona ducking my assaults.
I threw another punch, restraining myself. Surprisingly, she didn’t duck.
She gasped and dropped when my fist hit her chest.
Why did she faint? It seemed odd that Rona didn’t evade the final blow since she was so good at defense.
Rona exaggerated her response, so I didn’t take it seriously.
She stumbled to her feet, covering her chest with her hands, whimpering.
“Daina,. Why were you so rough?”Rona seemed hurt.
“But I held back on that final strike because I expected you to evade,” I said.
Several she-wolves supported Rona and courted her.
How dare Daina harm you?
“We all watched what occurred. Daina intentionally harmed you. Punish her.”
“Sir, Roma is hurt. We should take her to the hospital immediately!”
She-wolves escorted Rona to the hospital.
I followed, watching Rona.
Although I was innocent, I’d be blamed if Rona was hurt.
The she-wolves kept complaining about me.
I stood outside the infirmary while she wolves blamed me.
I froze.
Rona was hurt.
No matter what I stated, nobody believed me.
Stephan Buther arrived at the hospital soon after.
He swiftly realized what had occurred and ordered Rona’s wounds treated.
Rona wept at him.
“I don’t know why Daina struck me, Stephan Buther.”
“I know Daina didn’t do it on purpose. It’s typical for people to be injured when training. It looks your injury isn’t severe, Rona. You’ll heal quickly. From now on, don’t spar with Daina. You’re no match for her.”
Buther patted Rona’s shoulder.
I admired Stephan Buther’s protection. He constantly helped me and knew me well.
She-wolves chattered outside the hospital.
Buther reprimanded them.
No one dared challenge the prince.
Rona was speechless.
POV: Rona
Today I trained with Daina face-to-face.
I let her strike me in public so witnesses would support me.
I finally vented my wrath.
Stephan Buther defended Daina, saying she wouldn’t purposely damage me.
He believed she was innocent.
He urged me to quit sparring with Daina since I couldn’t beat her.
Wants me to release Daina?
“Mom, I sparred Daina today,” I said, showing my bruise.
I wanted to test how powerful she was, but she attacked me, and I had to go to the hospital. The doctor said I was lucky I went quickly immediately, otherwise there may have been repercussions.
“Is it that bad?” Elizabeth asked.
“Rona, my lovely daughter. I’m sorry, but you shouldn’t behave so carelessly from now on. Daina is extremely strong. You shouldn’t have gone up against her. That was hazardous.”
I was furious. Even my adoptive mother liked Daina.
I wailed, “Mom, does Daina hate me?”
“I’d want to be friends with her, but she’s been antagonistic.”
Elizabeth patted my hair and said, “Rona, Daina is a wonderful girl. She didn’t want to harm you today.”
“Mom, I can tell you like Daina,” I said defiantly.
“Stephan Buther continues defending her. Why do you both treat Daina differently? Is it because she’s strong? Tell me the truth, Mom. Are Daina and Stephan Buther a couple? I want to know what’s wrong with my uncle. If he’s found someone he loves, I’ll give them my blessing.”
