“I’m pleased you’re okay. I was terrified!”
“Allen rescued me, Daina. Thank him.”
I was too concentrated on her to see Dason’s werewolf .
“Dason, are you okay?”
” What’s your mood? Let’s take you to the hospital and let the greatest doctor treat you.”
At that point, Stephan Buther’s secret guard inquired, “Since I’ve done my job, may I leave?”
Buther nodded.
Dason stood up at this.”Allen, stop!
He embraced him.
Then I saw the werewolf.
He was blurry, but he smelt familiar.
Allen.
Stephan Buther’s secret guard.
He rescued Dason, I heard.
Why did I have the sensation their relationship wasn’t as straightforward as it seemed?
“No! If you go, I’ll be heartbroken and my wound will take long to heal. Stay till I recover.”
Allen eventually spoke after being quiet.
His face stunned me. I hadn’t seen my elder uncle in years.
I knew it was him despite his older appearance compared to my recollections.
He smelt familiar, no wonder.
He was unmistakable.
“Jeric!”
I yelled.
“Daina! Sister! ”
Daina’s POV:
After separating from my uncle Jeric, I missed him daily. He disappeared for years.
He is now Buther’s guard and Dason’s savior?
Jeric was Allen. His skull trembled at my scream.
“His name’s Allen,” he said.
I whispered “Allen.”
Really? How are two werewolves so similar yet not the same? Allen looked and smelled like my uncle. Werewolves smelled everything, and I could too.
I’m so right! Buther stopped me from questioning Allen more.
My uncle was his guard.
I followed Dason through exams and saw the doctor treat his wound.
Dason needed hospitalization.
Stephan Buther appointed him the finest nurse.
“Wait, Daina. I’ll be out of here soon.”
Dason kissed me.
Then I knew Dason would be OK and back to normal.
“Allen, come see me!”
Allen drew Dason’s eyebrows. Allen walked behind Buther.
This moment made me giggle.
Stephan Buther arranged for Allen to remain after hospitalization.
Allen stayed in the castle as ordered. Buther brought me to the forest.
We walked while discussing Allen.
Stephan Buther said, “Daina, I know you have questions.”
Is he your elder uncle?
“Sure,” I said, grabbing his wrist.
Stephan Buther reassured me, “Daina, you can be honest with me.”
His embrace relaxed me.
I embraced him back and told him my experience.
“I’m from the Moonlight Pack. My father, Dason Bairi, was the Alpha and my mother, Sara was his Luna. My mother died of an illness when I was seven. Not long after, the pack’s Beta, Edenr, rallied with some traitors and killed my father. My older uncle, Jeric, and I escaped the pack, but we got separated. I later went to the Green woods pack as a refugee and was taken in by luna .
I sobbed into Stephan Buther’s arms.
Buther patted my shoulder and back.
“Daina, I’ve always wondered about your background. I didn’t expect it to be so tragic. Please believe me. Those who have wronged you will receive what they deserve, and you will get what you’re entitled!”
I nodded and cried.
Since Allen is your elder uncle, I’ll make sure he remembers you.
Buther dried my coffeers.
“You’re upset because Allen didn’t recognize you, right? He has amnesia. Many years ago, while inspecting the packs, I found an injured werewolf. When he woke up, he lost all his memories. He didn’t even know his own name. I named him Allen, and in order to repay me, he has been serving me as my right-hand man. Don’t worry. I will find a way to help Allen remember you.”
Oh, I see. You rescued my uncle and gave me a new life. Thank the gods for bringing us together.
“By the way, Stephan Buther, do you remember what I told you the other day? I saw someone strange in the Rosryal castle, but his scent was familiar. Now that I think about it, that guy felt like my uncle. Since he’s your secret guard, was that person my uncle?”
Buther patted my shoulder.
“Did you send my uncle to the palace?”
“Daina, the family is complicated. You’ll understand in time. For now, don’t get involved. But now that I know Allen is your uncle, I won’t send him on risky missions.”
Buther didn’t elaborate.
He merely held my hand and pleaded for patience.
His questions ceased.
Stephan’s pov
After Daina told me her tale, we spoke in the forest.
I didn’t realize Moonlight Pack’s Alpha was a traitor.
Eden said Daniell and Jeric died of an accident.
As the Moonlight Pack’s Beta, he said he had no option but to become Alpha.
He vowed he’d honor the previous Alpha’s dying desire despite his sadness.
Everyone was duped.
Maria’s dad murdered Daina’s.
I had to immediately return Maria to her knapsack. Anyone who wanted Daina harm couldn’t come near her.
Maria and Dason escorted Yeven recently.
I asked all the werewolf and lycan witnesses what occurred.
Maria didn’t help when Dason was hurt. She urged them to abandon her.
I phoned Maria after an inquiry.
“Mr. Buther, what can I do?”
Everyone returned from Grey Mountain except Dason.
I wasted no time and was direct.
“I’ve looked into it. You abandoned Dason, right?”
“If we went back to help Dason, we may have all died, Mr. Buther,”
” Werewolves like you aren’t fit to train on Marge Island. Leave now. If you don’t, you’ll be booted out. If you have to be pushed from the island, both you and your father will lose face.
Maria’s POV:
Never expected Stephan Buther to ring me about Dason.
Maybe Daina was slandering me for Dason.
That chick constantly utilized her face. Dason and Daina’s closeness bothers me.
Respectfully, I agreed with him and said I’d leave.
I felt enraged after leaving Stephan Buther’s castle.
Why did I have to flee? How did I lose so badly against Daina? I’d never surrender to her. Against the prince’s commands, I couldn’t remain.
I got an idea when I noticed she-wolves prowling the hostel.
I went to the dorm’s top floor about midnight.
Dark, desolate passageways.
I smashed the dorm’s security cameras without anybody noticing. Everyone must be sleeping because it’s midnight.
When they awoke, the fire had spread.
I thought no one could link the crime to me since I destroyed the security cameras.
Stephan Buther advised me to leave, so my departure wasn’t strange.
I felt unspeakable delight when I saw the structure on fire.
I wished all would burn. I’m curious how Daina will escape.
