Amelia Bright packed up her things and accompanied Emily Guan and Bohdi Olson to have breakfast together before leaving.
The whole person is taking her time and not in a hurry, after a night and this morning’s overwhelming condolences from her mother-in-law, she has regained her long-lost sanity.
As Bohdi Olson drove her home, her mind went over the events of the day and the more she thought about them, the more she realized that something was wrong.
From the time she found out Danna Keller’s identity to the time she fainted and got the labs saying her baby was unhealthy to the time she was scolded by Erlina Lee in the operating room yesterday, it was as if an invisible hand had been pushing her into the abyss, but for a moment, she couldn’t tell what was wrong.
When she arrived home, no one seemed to be home.
Amelia Bright left her luggage in the living room and was going to the kitchen to pour some water. When she passed by the dining room, she saw a table of leftovers, two red wine glasses, and half a dozen empty wine bottles.
Her gaze tightened for a few moments.
The tableware was all double, someone had been in the house last night.
There were still some fresh vegetables and fruits left in the kitchen fridge, and it looked like they had been bought last night, so someone who could cook had come last night. Amelia Bright’s mind went through a lot of thoughts at once, and almost as if intuition ruled her reason, she went up to the second floor.
Before opening the door to the master bedroom, she couldn’t help but hold her breath, her mind already thinking of the worst possible outcome.
“With a creak, the door pushed open in her hands, and there was only Farren Austin lying in the master bedroom bed, his face slightly red from the hangover, his half-covered quilt revealing the clothes he was wearing yesterday, his olive green camouflage training uniform.
Amelia Bright’s hand on the door frame gradually loosened, and her heart sighed with relief.

After standing in the doorway and despising herself for a few seconds, she gingerly walked over to the bed and pulled the covers up to her chest for Farren Austin.

He really drank too much last night, and he couldn’t remember how he got into bed at all.
“Wash up first, I have something to tell you downstairs in a few minutes.”
“Amelia.”
Farren Austin took her hand from behind, “Leave the baby.”
Amelia Bright looked stunned and turned back around.
“What did you say?”
“Have the baby, if you want.”
Last night, I originally wanted to have a drink or two to relieve my sorrow, but then I thought about the child, and somehow I drank more and more, until my mind was a mess, and I had recurring dreams all night longing for and expecting this child in the future.
Amelia Bright showed a stunned look.
“I thought you said this is not the time to get pregnant, you Chambers can not be?”
“Just send a few more people around you for protection.”
“Why do you suddenly think so?”
Amelia Bright was a little suspicious.
“It’s me who was not thoughtful before, it’s cruel to ask you to give up the baby that’s wrong.”
Somehow, Amelia Bright suddenly thought of the table of leftovers downstairs and the seven or eight empty bottles of wine poured on the floor, and suddenly asked.

Amelia Bright was so disappointed that she covered her ears in annoyance and said
“Calla Moon, Calla Moon, Calla Moon! Can you stop mentioning that name in front of me!”
The air froze, and the warmth that had so easily been achieved before was eroded by the sudden quarrel, as if it had never existed.
Farren Austin has never been used to breaking the cold and stagnant atmosphere, the silence was as long as a century.

“Amelia, what’s wrong with you?”
