Chapter 239

Book:My Wife Is So Crazy Published:2024-5-28

Amelia Bright had sketched an image of Calla Moon in her mind many times, mostly stretching from the Danna Keller mold, thinking that all the female soldiers in the military district probably looked like that, slatternly and unpretentious like a man.
But Calla Moon’s presence made all the sketches in her head a joke. She had short hair, but was very capable, fair skin and deep eyebrows, a rare beauty, even like the female agents in American dramas, sex to the bone.
She and herself are completely two kinds of people.
Frozen for a long time, she found her voice, but still stumbled, some incoherence, “You are Calla Moon? Calla Moon is not … not long ago … ”
“Long ago died in the desert?”
Calla Moon face hanging as if there is a smile, “when the soldiers, the country arranged sacrifice will have to sacrifice, before coming back I have explained to Farren, I am very happy that my mission is finally completed, and can still come back.”
Her tone paused for a second, and suddenly looked solemnly at Amelia Bright and said.
“Thank you for taking care of ChambersFarren all these years.”
These words are like a knife in Amelia Bright’s slightly sensitive heart at the moment, like a drumstick pounding.
It was almost as if she sensed Calla Moon’s hostility in those words.
“You’re welcome, I’m his wife, it’s only right to look after Chambers.”
“I heard from Bick that Farren was good to you, I was worried when I left back then that it would be too much of a shock for him, and I was relieved to come back and hear about you.”
“That’s, after all, you were comrades for more than ten years, Farren all these years for those who died back then are very nostalgic, to say that the blow is also really not small.”
Calla Moon frowned, looking at Amelia Bright’s eyes deepened a few points.
She was not sure whether Amelia Bright really did not understand the meaning of her words, or pretended not to understand.
Amelia Bright gave her a faint look, ending the mutually tentative pleasantries with
“I’m going to go check on Farren.”
“Farren is not awake yet, let him sleep a little longer.”
When she heard these words, Amelia Bright’s face rose in anger, and her voice was cold.
“Miss Mu, you don’t need to know so much about whether my husband is asleep or awake, and you don’t need to tell me what to do.”
After saying this, she did not look back and went into the house.
On the second floor, the master bedroom, Farren Austin’s door was hidden, and when she pushed it open, she saw the familiar figure lying on the bed, one arm resting on the quilt, a thick layer of bandages on the big arm.
Seeing this, Amelia Bright’s nose was sore and she gingerly walked over.
A few months, Farren Austin has lost some weight and darkened a lot.
He was alert and opened his eyes shortly after Amelia Bright approached, his cold eyes covered with a bit of hangover haze, and his voice was hoarse when he spoke.
“Amelia, what brings you here?”
“How long do you plan to stay here to recuperate from your injuries if I don’t come?”
Amelia Bright held back her tears and glared at him with an angry look, “Where else is it hurt but your arm?”
Farren Austin sat up and smiled faintly, “Just a small injury, I’ll be fine in three to five days, I’m afraid you’ll be worried so I said I’ll wait two days before I go back.”
Amelia Bright lifted the blanket in disbelief and looked him over, then was relieved to know that he was intact except for his arm.
“I’m not the one who makes a fuss over a little injury, it’s the fact that you don’t go back like this that worries people, and both grandpa and mom and dad know you’ve gone back to the military and are asking me when you’ll be home.”
“I know, I was going to go back, but Calla Moon said …”
“Farren.”
Farren Austin had barely finished his sentence when a female voice from the doorway of the room interrupted him.
Calla Moon stood in the doorway with a glass of water in her hand.
“I’m sorry, did I disturb you guys? I came over to bring a glass of water.”
“It’s okay, come on in,” Farren Austin looked to Amelia Bright, “Have you just met? This is Calla Moon, co-captain of the Blue Eagle.”
“Met.” Amelia Bright’s voice was a little muffled.
“I just met you at the door, I was watering the flowers, and we hadn’t met before, so we had a little misunderstanding,”
Calla Moon’s voice was cheerful as she walked over to the bed and handed Farren Austin a glass of water.
“Drink some water first, you drank a lot last night and your voice is hoarse.”
Farren Austin took the glass of water, took a sip, and casually said.
“What’s the misunderstanding?”
“I didn’t know Amelia had planted the flowers here, so I thought they needed to be watered, so I went to the flower market this afternoon to buy a new batch.”
Her attitude was so good that she even made Amelia Bright doubt that the woman who just disdained her tea flowers at the door was not the one in front of her.
But if she made it clear, she would seem petty.
As she thought about it, Farren Austin took her hand in his.
“Calla Moon early training in the military area, the military area are five big men, she does not know how to take care of flowers and plants, so it is not intentional, do not mind.”
Once she heard this, Amelia Bright became even more angry, and her face immediately changed.
“I didn’t say I minded.”
The moment the words came out, she suddenly realized that her tone carried a bit of annoyance.
Meeting Farren Austin’s surprised gaze, she frowned.
“You’re fine, I’ll go back first.”
She was in a mess at the moment, as if it was a tangled mess, and it really wasn’t appropriate to stay in this space any longer.
Farren Austin called after her, but couldn’t keep up, and she walked as fast as she could.
On her way toward the military entrance, she recalled Adjutant Xun’s stammering phone call last night and it all came clear.
Calla Moon was back, the second-in-command of the Blue Eagle, the most beloved person in the Hounslow military district besides Farren Austin, and even Farren Austin had a special feeling for her that she couldn’t cut off.
Just as she walked to the door where she parked, and pulled open the car door
“Amelia Bright.”
A voice caught up behind her, and Bick trotted over to
“The captain asked me to give you a ride.”
Amelia Bright frowned, “No, I don’t think so.”
“I’ll give you a ride.”
Bick did not say to pull open the car door to get into the car, “said it is going to rain, afraid you drive inattentive, I will send you back.”
Amelia Bright couldn’t argue, so she had to get into the passenger side.
“Why are you here this early in the morning?”
Bick asked as soon as he got into the car.
“Adjutant Xun said Farren was injured, I came to check it out.”
At that, Bick indifferent laugh, “just a small injury, there is Calla Moon sister care Chambers is enough, you do not need to worry.”
“I’m more worried when she’s looking after Chambers.”
“What did you say?”
Amelia Bright’s voice was small, and she was only muttering to herself, so Bick didn’t hear her.
“Nothing, I said that since it’s a minor injury, just go home and recuperate, there’s no need to stay in the military zone.”
“You don’t know, Calla Moon sister can come back, we are too happy, last night we talked all night, I haven’t seen the captain smile so happy for a long time.”
Amelia Bright clenched her hand, knowing full well that Bick was talking to her like that on purpose, but her mind was still a jumbled mess.
After several moments of silence, she asked.
“How did Calla Moon get back? If I remember correctly, you all told me that she died on a mission in the desert years ago.”
