8 months later
“Call Kaidan immediately,” I screamed hysterically and clung to Silvan’s arm, who looked at me pale as death.
“But-”
“But nothing!” I yelled again, then blew my breath in and out quickly a few times. “I swear to you, I’ll kill you with my own hands!”
“It’s okay,” he then surrendered and released his already red arm from my grip to leave the hospital room.
I lay there, alone now, with a huge stomach and pain almost killing me.
With my legs bent, I wanted to jump up and run, but my two girls had to get out, so willy-nilly I had to persevere.
Since I had nothing on except a white t-shirt and a thin blanket that covered half my legs, Silvan probably didn’t want Kaidan to enter the room, but he accompanied me throughout the pregnancy and now, on the day of delivery , I needed him more than ever.
“Hello,” I then heard Igor, who entered the room smiling with a cup of coffee, but when his gaze wandered between my bent legs and I blushed, he was about to turn around in panic and slammed his face against the door frame so hard, that he fell backwards like a sack of potatoes.
“Blame yourself,” I rolled my eyes and then saw Silvan, who climbed over him without paying attention to Igor and came towards me.
“He’s coming right away,” he said in a trembling voice and immediately pulled the blanket over me so that no one could see even a piece of my skin.
“Thank you,” I said through clenched teeth and already felt the next contraction coming, when I immediately grabbed Silvan’s hand, who swallowed hard and closed his eyes.
“Jade,” he blurted out as I squeezed his hand and glared at him angrily.
“I’m having two kids and you can’t stand me shaking your hand?!” I snarled, which made him give me an apologetic look.
“It’s okay, it’s okay,” he said immediately and sat down on the stool next to me.
Poor guy really looked exhausted…
“New carpet?” I then heard Kaidan, who looked down at Igor and also stepped over him.
“He passed out,” I admitted, smiling, and feeling better immediately. “Thanks.”
I knew how much it bothered Silvan that Kaidan was now sitting on my other side, but he had the gift of taking all the pain away from me. Just as he had already taken away my heartburn, nausea and bad back pain during my pregnancy. It made me feel incredibly good, so that while the contractions still hurt, they were much more bearable.
“Should I help you too?” He turned to Silvan with a grin, who really looked so pale as if he were about to fall off his stool.
“Not necessary,” he said quietly, and when another contraction came, my midwife entered the room and asked them both to leave the room and take Igor with them.
“I’m staying,” Silvan growled at her immediately, whereupon she just shrugged her shoulders in amusement.
“Well, if you think so,” she replied and I watched Kaidan as he helped Igor up and the two disappeared into the hallway.
“So… it’s time,” I heard the midwife and let my head fall back to block out everything and concentrate on the breathing exercises that I had been practicing over and over again for the past few weeks.
“You have to breathe more calmly,” Silvan explained when I got louder and louder and immediately I grabbed his hand even tighter, which made him wince.
“What do you think I’m trying to do!” I yelled, sorry to take all the pain out on him, but he took it.
It had lasted four fucking hours, but it was worth every single second when I finally got hold of one of my girls and all the pain was a thing of the past.
Silvan had our second girl next to me in his arms and since then he has not been responsive at all. He looked at her with pride and it made me incredibly happy to see him like that.
I remembered him telling me that he really wanted children. At that time I still thought he was the biggest idiot and that I would never give myself to him, but today, on this wonderful day, I knew that starting a family with him was the most beautiful thing in the world.
“What do you think of Lisa and Anna,” I whispered, looking at my little girl’s sweet face.
“You mean, like Lisana?” he asked in surprise and got up to walk across the room with the Anna I just named. “That’s a beautiful idea,” he admitted afterwards, tears in his eyes, and he immediately came over to sit on the edge of my bed.
“Do you actually know how much I need you in my life?”
“Now I know it.”
