(King’s palace)
“Your Majesty, the seer has been waiting to see you in your office for quite some time now” Edward reported to his King.
King Wymond was taking long strode towards his room, but he stopped abruptly and turned to face Edward when he mentioned the seer.
“Old Sebastian, came to see me?” he asked.
“Yes, your Majesty” Edward answered.
King Wymond raised his brows in surprise, but he said nothing and continued his trip to his room with Edward tagging along -though he’s waiting for orders from King Wymond.
“Go!” he said, but Edward understood what his King meant and nodded.
“Yes, your Majesty” he replied. “About Marshall’s accomplice, Drake, what should we do with him?”
King Wymond’s jaws clenched tightly at the mention of Drake, he balled his fists and glared at Edward as though he’s glaring at Drake himself.
His face contorted in disgust and anger, but there’s a shadow of jealousy lurking around his blue iris.
“Wait until my queen is awake, she’ll be in charge of his case” was all King Wymond gritted out.
“Yes, your Majesty” Edward bowed in respect, then rushed off immediately.

The doctors were just done cleaning and wrapping up King Wymond’s mate’s wound, that’s when he pushed the door open and walked into the room.
“Your Majesty” everyone (doctors and nurses) in the room bowed.
King Wymond ignored their greetings as he took long strode towards his mate, who was still laying unconsciously on their bed -they’re changed the bloodstain bedsheets to a clean and fresh bedsheet.
His eyebrows knitted together in a deep frown when he noticed there are sweats on her face, he turned to ask the doctors what’s going on, but he saw his mate’s personal maid, (Cora), rushing in with a small bowl of water and a small towel hanging on the edge of the bowl.
“Nurse, here’s the water” she said.
Renee wanted to reach for the bowl, but King Wymond beat her to it.
He reached forward and collected the bowl from Cora, he turned back to his mate and sat at the edge of the bed, then started mopping the sweats off her face.
“How’s my mate’s condition now?” he asked the doctors.
“Your Majesty” one of the doctors spoke. “the queen is out of danger, her body’s starting to warm up and her blood is circulating is very fine….”
“Conclusion” King Wymond cut him off.
“Her highness will wake up tomorrow morning, but we’re not sure of the specific time” he said.
King Wymond felt his mate’s temperature and nodded in satisfaction, then he waved the doctors off.
They hurriedly carried their medical kits and ran out, as if there’s a fire consuming them that they needed to quench right away.
Now it’s just Renee, King Wymond and his unconscious mate in the room.
Renee doesn’t know what to say to her brother at the moment, she felt guilty for what has happened to her sister-in-law and she even worse for disobeying her brother’s orders.
“Y-your Majesty” she stuttered quietly, a little bit too quietly, but she knew he heard her.
She played with her fingers nervously as she thought of her next words, how she’d say it to avoid angering her brother than he already was.
“I.. Ara and I…”
“To your room” he interrupted her icily, which made her flinch back slightly.
She wanted to stay and apologize or even ask for punishment, but she knew better than to do any of those right now or she might end up spending the night in the dungeon.
She took a final look at Ara, apologized to her mentally and ran out.
King Wymond dropped the wet towel in the bowl of water, he reached for his mate’s hand and squeezed it gently.
He stared at her face admiringly, until he didn’t realized when he broke into a smile.
“Baby, I wanna be mad at you, but I can’t, tell me why?” he paused.
He moved some fallen strands of hair off her face, leaned forward and planted a lingering kiss on her forehead, then smiled.
“Thank you” he muttered, then kissed her again. “Get some rest, I’ll be back soon!” he told her even though he knew she wouldn’t reply him.
He got up and headed towards the door, he saw Cora standing outside the door.
“Attend to my queen until I’m back” he commanded her.
“Yes, your Majesty” she nodded, then entered the room.
King Wymond took another glance at his mate, before heading towards the stairs.

(King’s office)
King Wymond halted as he set foot in his office and saw Old Sebastian sprawled on his chair, his legs were crossed on the table and a half eaten watermelon is sitting on a corner in the table.
Old Sebastian’s head was thrown back on the chair, his mouth opened slightly which was letting out quiet snores -indicating he’s sleep.
A hat was covering his eyes to his nose, a chameleon sat on the hat and was staring at King Wymond.
“Old Sebastian!!” King Wymond growled.
Old Sebastian sprang up, the chameleon fell in the process and he began looking around frantically as though he’s searching for danger.
King Wymond stormed towards him and started waving a finger in front of him, almost sticking his finger in old Sebastian’s eye.
“How dare you put your old feet on my desk?!” he growled again.
Old Sebastian stopped looking around when he realized it was King Wymond who had shouted his name, he moved away from the chair and slapped King Wymond’s hand away from his face.
“I’m old?” he scoffed. “Pot calling Kettle black” he said.
King Wymond glared at the table where old Sebastian’s legs were resting seconds ago, he reached for a handkerchief in his pocket and started wiping the table.
“This isn’t your hut, don’t turn my office into your shrine…”
He paused and threw old Sebastian a very nasty glare, which of course, old Sebastian didn’t even mind.
“… what are you doing here anyway?” he asked.
Old Sebastian slumped on the chair nearest to him, he closed his eyes and started sniffing around, there’s a satisfied smile on his face as if he’s perceiving something very sweet.
“I can sense a very strong magic coming from you, the only explanation to this would be.. you’ve found the pearl bead, correct?”
King Wymond nodded, he rounded the table and sat on his chair, before pulling a box from his pocket and dropped it on the table.
Old Sebastian leaned closer to the box and sniffed some more, the exhaled dramatically loud.
“Here, the magic is coming from here and it’s very strong” he pointed at the box.
King Wymond opened the box and revealed the bead.
“Are you indirectly saying this is the original bead?” King Wymond asked.
Old Sebastian reached for the box and studied the bead closely, then nodded slowly.
“Yes, it’s the real bead” he said.
King Wymond frowned at old Sebastian’s reply, a question suddenly crossed his mind and his frown deepened even more, but he didn’t voice it out.
He snatched the box from old Sebastian, closed it and shoved it back in his pocket.
“You haven’t answered my question yet, what brought you here?” he asked again.
“That” old Sebastian nodded at King Wymond’s pocket. “It’s magic is very strong, so I got curious and I thought I should come check it out” he said.
King Wymond narrowed his eyes at him, his suspicion antenna arose in him and he glared at Old Sebastian -but he didn’t accuse him of anything though.
“Well, I’ve gotten the pearl bead, but how do I make a wish on it?” He asked.
“Er… I don’t know, you and your mate are the first people that are gonna be using it for the first time since its existence”
King Wymond raised his eyebrows.
“Are you saying you have no clue how it’s being used?”
“Your Majesty, you’ve being in existence way before me” old Sebastian laughed at his own words. “I only heard about this from my father and I’m also seeing it for the first time, you should know more about it than I” he told King Wymond.
“Old Sebastian, you’re 557years old and you’ve been practicing witchcrafts for 537years, don’t tell me you have no idea at all”
“I’m just 557years, but you’re more than a thousand years old, doesn’t that makes me a baby in your sight?” Old Sebastian burst into laughter at his words.
King Wymond doesn’t find it funny at all, he growled and banged on the table which made old Sebastian sobered up immediately.
“Are you trying to get on my nerves? Or do you want me to send you to the pagoda to do more research on it?” King Wymond snarled authoritatively.
Old Sebastian shook his head quickly, his playful demeanour suddenly vanished and he became even more serious than King Wymond himself.
“I’ve been researching since we decided to search for the bead and…”
“Make it short!”
“Yes, your Majesty” he sighed. “Put the bead between you and your mate, keep a clear heart, then silently say whatever wish you want it to grant you” he concluded.
King Wymond frowned slightly.
“Is that all?” he asked.
“Er… I think so…”
“You think?!” he interrupted old Sebastian.
“You’re the first person that’s gonna use the pearl bead since its existence, we’re not even sure if it’s gonna work yet”
King Wymond sighed, he found old Sebastian’s words very reasonable. He rested his elbows on the table, held his head in his hands and sighed deeply.
“Your Majesty, I think what matters most is love”
“Love?”
“Yes, if the love between you and your mate is genuine, then we should be hundred percent confident that the bead would grant your wish”
King Wymond shut his eyes and inhaled again.
“I heard some maids saying your mate was poisoned”
King Wymond simply nodded, he seemed tired.
