Arabella’s point of view.
My face contorted in disgust as we walked past each cells, there’s an awful smell coming out from the cells, it’s not something anyone would wanna perceive -I don’t think I can ever get this smell off my head.
Wymond stopped walking but I wasn’t paying attention, because I was busy thinking of how to get the awful smell off my mind, hence I slammed my face on his back.
“Are you ok?” he asked.
“Hm” I hummed as I rubbed my forehead gently.
He nodded.
“We’re here” he said, gesturing at the door.
He nodded at one of the guards to open the door, the guard pushed the door open without wasting time and we entered the cell.
I twisted my lips thoughtfully as I looked around with a frown, trying to capture any trace of clue but my eyes only landed on some broken chains on the ground.
I quickly rushed over, squatted and picked a piece of the chain, but I hissed loudly in pain and instantly dropped the chain.
“Fuçk, what the hell is this?” I groaned as I stared at my palm, it’s slowly turning red.
Wymond rushed towards me, he squatted to my level and took my hand in his, he stared at it worriedly and hissed in pain like I just did few seconds ago -he sounded as if he could feel my pain too.
I thought he wasn’t supposed to feel my pains and emotions until we mate, is that our mate-bond working now?
Amy scoffed in my head at that thought, I could even imagine her rolling her eyes.
*Our mate is just sympathizing with you, don’t get the wrong idea*
*Why are you always sassy with me?* I asked her.
*I’m you, you’re me and we’re one, I only reflect your character* she said.
I sighed and shut her out, she sometimes make me feel like pulling her outta me and killing her -but sadly, it’s impossible.
“You shouldn’t have touched it, it’s a silver chain” Wymond’s words brought me back to reality.
“Silver?” I asked and shifted my gaze to the chains again.
I took a closer look this time and realized it’s truly made of silver, I winced as if knowing I just touched silver added to my pain.
“Why did you use silver chains on the Alpha? Don’t you know silvers are used for torturing werewolves?” I asked, trying to imagine how much pains the Alpha must have gone through.
“He wasn’t an alpha anymore” he answered and paused.
He blew some air in my palm and massaged it gently to soothe the pain.
“I had already removed him from his Alpha position earlier, because I realized he’s going rogue”
“He was going rogue?” I frowned.
“Yes, a rogue wolf can’t lead a pack” he answered.
“How did you know he was going rogue?” I asked again.
“His eyes has started turning red”
“Goodness, how’s that possible? How can a sane wolf suddenly lost his sanity and go rogue?” I paused. “An Alpha at that” I said.
“We interrogated him when he was brought in and he told us the war he had with your pack was caused by a masked man, my thought is, the masked man must have done something to him and that’s why he was going rogue” he explained.
“Oh” I nodded slowly in understanding.
“I wanted to tame him and bring back his sanity, hence, I used silver chains to see if it will work”
“Well, I guess it’s all in vain now” I said.
He nodded in agreement.
“Anyways, what clue have you gotten from here?” he asked.
I sighed and shrugged my shoulders.
“None yet, but let’s continue looking” I answered him.
I studied the chains for a few more moments but still didn’t find anything weird, then I sniffed the air and caught a whiff of a very familiar scent.
“Can you perceive that?” I asked Wymond.
“Sulphur?” he asked without sniffing.
“Yeah” I paused. “Wait, how did you know it’s sulphur without even taking a sniff?”
He laughed as if my question is funny, but he quickly stopped when I narrowed my eyes at him.
“My sense of smell is ten times enhanced than others, I perceived it the moment we entered the cell” he explained.
I sighed.
“Whatever” I waved him off.
I turned back to the chains and my eyes landed on a small piece in a corner, I rushed over to it and examined it -without touching it though -I don’t wanna get another shock of my life.
There’s a yellowish substance on it, I wanted to touch it but quickly stopped myself and called Wymond over.
“What’s that?” I asked him.
He reached for the piece of chain and examined it, then frowned.
“Sulphur” he growled.
“Sulphur…” I trailed off and smiled. “… now this is a clue, in fact, our biggest clue so far”
Wymond turned towards the guard that’s carrying the burnt uniform, he put the piece of chain on the uniform and turned back to me.
“We should search every guard’s room, whoever’s involved in this couldn’t have gotten rid of every evidence completely, there must still be some tiny evidence which he might have overlooked laying around” I said.
“Hm” Wymond hummed.
“We should also search each elder’s houses, who knows, one of them must be involved too”
Wymond simply folded his arms on his chest and stared at me with a proud smile, I rolled my eyeballs.
“Stop smiling at me like that, your smile is creeping me out” I told him.
“I’m just proud that my queen shares the same thoughts with me, this is exactly what I would have done too” he said.
I scoffed.
“Whatever”
He was about to say something, but Edward suddenly barged into the cell.
