Arabella’s point of view.
I checked out myself one last time in the mirror, reached for my bag and flung it over my shoulder, then dashed out.
I was a little bit startled by Renee who’s been waiting by the door, she cleared her throat and held up her phone as though it’s a microphone.
“Let’s applaud our brave queen, Queen Arabella of the supernatural world!” she announced to no one, obviously because it’s just the two of us on this floor.
She started mimicking the sound of an audience who are cheering and hooting for their idols, I raised my eyebrows at her.
“Er…”
She threw an arm around my shoulder, before I could utter any words and hugged me sideways.
“Ara, you were so amazing, like, I wasn’t expecting you’d fight off those villains without my help”
I chuckled lightly.
“You’ve earned my respect” she said.
“Hmm, it would have been better if I didn’t end up getting injured”
She shook her head.
“That’s because their claws were coated in wolfsbane” she cringed her nose. “I don’t know how they managed to do it without getting hurt too” she said.
We headed towards the stairs but she suddenly stopped walking, though it was just for a very brief moment.
“My brother just mind-linked me” she said.
“What did he say?” I asked.
“I said I should go drop you off at school”
I scoffed.
“You shouldn’t….”
“And you said you can’t say no” she said in a stern voice, I believe she’s mimicking Wymond right now.
I sighed.
“Fine” I agreed.
There’s no use arguing over it, my mate would never change his mind even if I argue till the end of the world.
Renee nudged my shoulder.
“I heard my brother made breakfast for someone today” she said and started wagging her eyebrows teasingly.
My cheeks flamed up immediately she said that, don’t tell me everyone know about it.
“You’re being a very good influence on my brother, Edward told me he smiled this morning”
“Really?”
“Yeah” she nodded. “I don’t know what you’re doing to him, but don’t stop because it’s changing him and I can’t wait to have the jovial brother I had thousands of years ago” she said seriously.
I stared at Renee’s face closely and wondered how old she is, though I know for such that Wymond is very much older than her.
“Ask me directly, stop guessing”
“Huh?” I asked.
“You are wondering how old I am, right?”
“Yeah, but how did you know?”
We’ve made it outside by now and we’re heading towards the garage.
“I’m one of the first vampires, baby, I can read your mind -so be careful of what you’re thinking when you’re with me” she winked at me.
“Wow” the royal family is just something else.
“Anyways, I’m supposed to be thousands of years old, but my other siblings and I stopped aging immediately Wymond did” she paused and tilted her head a little bit. “So… I think I should be 20 years old now”
“Awesome” I nodded thoughtfully. “You’re older than me, but at the same time younger than me” we laughed at my lame joke.
We walked a few meters before arriving at the garage, Renee reached for her pocket and pulled out her car keys.
“Which one is yours?” I asked as I viewed all the cars.
“The red Aston Martin” she replied, pointing at the red car that was right in front of us.
She rounded the car and got into the driver’s seat, I also got into the passenger’ seat and fastened my seatbelt.
“Er… the first day we met each other, you said you and your other siblings don’t live in the palace -so where do you live?” I asked.
“Well, we all have our own houses on neutral lands, since we’re from the royal family we’re not supposed to have a particular pack or clan or coven where we belong -we belong to every species” she said.
I nodded in agreement, yeah, that makes sense… they aren’t supposed to belong to a particular pack or clan or coven because it’s gonna bring about partiality to their judgements.
“Your mate is not an exception too”
“Wymond? He have a house apart from the palace?”
Renee nodded.
“Yep, in fact his house is almost is the biggest mansion I’ve ever seen, it’s almost as big as the palace”
“Really? The palace is very big, you know that right?”
“Yeah and I’m not exaggerating” she chuckled. “but he doesn’t like going there for some reasons best known to him” she said.
“Oh” I’d really love to visit that mansion.
“He’d take you there if you ask him, but for now, let’s get you to school” she started the car and zoomed off.
