“Hello, Mom.”
“Where are you?”
Erlina Lee’s voice sounded angry at first, so I didn’t need to think about it to know that in all probability, she had heard about the news.
“I’m out on an errand, what do you want?”
“What do I have to do? You think I don’t know anything? What’s the news about? I went out for a facial with a friend today and lost my face in front of my friends because of you, do you have any shame in making such a scene?”
Erlina Lee’s words were as harsh and sarcastic as they had been when she first arrived at the Austin family.
Amelia Bright patiently explained.
“Mom, it’s a misunderstanding, it’s a reporter’s story, I’m dealing with it.”
“Dealing with what? I’ve already called Farren and he’s still protecting you. I have to find out today what kind of pillow talk you’ve given Farren that he’s so obedient to you.
Without waiting for Amelia Bright to speak, the phone had already hung up.
“It looks like you have more to deal with than the news.”
Bohdi Olson raised an eyebrow, “The relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, seems to be equally complicated and difficult in any class, wish you well.”
“I thank you.”
Amelia Bright gave him a look, and without further ado, just had to head for THE Austin family old house.
It was late afternoon when she arrived home, and before she even entered the door she heard Erlina Lee’s shrill voice yelling from inside the living room.
“She’s been doing this since she got back. It’s a slap in the face of our family, it’s unbelievable.”
Halyn Austin already had a problem with Amelia Bright, and now she’s throwing down the gauntlet.
“The company’s main business is to provide a wide range of products and services to its customers. Look at what she does when she goes out all day long.”
“Youngest grandmother.”
The maid’s voice came from the doorway, and the mother and daughter’s counting in the living room came to a screeching halt.
Amelia Bright changed her shoes and walked in as if she hadn’t heard what she had just said.
“Mom, I’m home.”
“You know you’re back?” Erlina Lee glared at her, “If I don’t call you, are you not going to come back?”
“You say that,” Amelia Bright looked as usual, “it’s up to Farren whether I come back or not.
“You don’t have to put things on Farren, I can see now that it’s not Farren’s idea to move out, it’s definitely you who told him so that you can go out and do all this nonsense, right?”
That’s a terrible thing to say.
“Mom, what are you talking about?”
Amelia Bright frowned, “The videos the reporters took are fake, I’m innocent and have a clear conscience.”
Halyn Austin sneered and sneered.
“A touch of the mouth and you’re innocent, when we’re all blind?”
“Halyn, it’s understandable that you have a problem with me, but to slander me like that is too much,” Amelia Bright said, looking at Halyn Austin with a cold look in her eyes.
“I don’t think it’s in your best interest to follow outsiders and throw dirt on me when something like this happens.”
“It’s not like you don’t watch your words and actions and make this kind of news outside.”
“Second Miss, you are not less lacy outside than I am.”
“You …”
For a time inside the living room swords were drawn and the smell of smoke was strong.
Erlina Lee is naturally protective of her daughter, at once no good, “Now talking about you, what are you pulling Halyn?”
“I’ll take care of it.”
“Take care of what?” Erlina Lee bluntly put down the words, “Starting tomorrow you don’t have to go to work, stay home and prepare for pregnancy, when you give birth to Farren, there will be no more rumors.”
“Mom, the company side I promised Dad to do a project …”
“I don’t care what you project department project, this matter is settled, this family, do I even let my own daughter-in-law stay at home right?”
“I don’t mean that,”
A good man does not eat the loss in front of him, see Erlina Lee’s decision is already a nail in the coffin, Amelia Bright only have to shut up, no longer mediation, thinking of the company that mess, her eyes turned, quickly said.
“I’m not going to work, I’ll stay home from tomorrow to prepare for my pregnancy.”
Erlina Lee seemed to not expect her to agree so easily, she froze for a moment and then showed her satisfaction, as if approving of her power as the head of the family.
“That’s more like it, I’ll have someone take care of the news, you don’t have to worry about it, don’t go out much these days, when Farren comes back for dinner later, you tell him to move back in.”
“Okay.”
Amelia Bright agreed to all of Erlina Lee’s requests.
She agreed, but she knew in her heart of hearts, what was the point of just saying yes?
She was now the vice president of the Austin Group, and she had a lot of things waiting for her to deal with. Just now she hadn’t been to the office for an afternoon, and the papers on her desk must have piled up.
As for Farren Austin, the fact that he moved out really doesn’t have much to do with him.
As expected, Farren Austin came back at dinner time, and once seated Amelia Bright asked him if he wanted to move back in, but Farren Austin didn’t give her any face and refused the offer.
“What’s the point of moving back when it’s more convenient for me to live close to the military area now?”
Farren Austin looked down and drank his soup, not taking the offer seriously at all.
Amelia Bright had no choice and made a show of her hands at Erlina Lee, meaning she had no choice.
“Farren,” Erlina Lee frowned, taking the position herself, “what’s so great about living out here? I heard you don’t even have a maid there, Amelia does the housework all by herself, she cooks every morning and evening, how can she cook?”
“She’s a good cook.”
Farren Austin said this, so Amelia Bright almost choked.
It was also against her conscience.
“No, you have to move back, you are not well, I do not feel at ease living outside by yourself.”
“There is nothing it does not feel at ease, I have someone to look after Chambers.”
The two sides standoff, Amelia Bright lowered her head and counted the rice in the bowl, desperately trying to reduce their presence.
Just then, the sound of a maid talking came from outside.
“Sir, you’re back.”
Steven Austin, wrapped in the chill of early autumn, walked straight to the dining room as soon as he entered the house, with a cloudy face.
“Amelia, why didn’t you answer your phone? I can’t believe you disappeared all afternoon without a word. Mr. Zhao of Wo Mao just called me and said you had originally asked him to have dinner to discuss cooperation, but you sent a text message saying that you temporarily canceled? Are you out of your mind?”
